3 Reprt Cnversin Tl SAP BusinessObjects Reprt Cnversin Tl is used t cnvert Desktp Intelligence reprts t Web Intelligence frmat and publishes the cnverted reprts t the CMC. Reprt Cnversin Tl is used t cnvert the fllwing types f reprt t Web Intelligence XI 3.x (WID) frmat: BusinessObjects (REP) reprts migrated t Desktp Intelligence (REP) frmat Desktp Intelligence reprts created directly in Desktp Intelligence and based n these dataprviders: a BusinessObjects universe a Micrsft Excel dcument an ASCII file (frmats ASC, PRN, CSV and TXT) free-hand SQL and stred prcedures Prerequisites The fllwing are the prerequisites t use the Reprt Cnversin Tl: It is mandatry t have the Designer tl, t create audit lg r t detect Free-Hand SQL and Stred Prcedures reprts. Befre using Reprt Cnversin Tl, create an audit cnnectin in designer and assign it t Reprt Cnversin Tl in CMC. Wrking Mdes & Statuses Reprt Cnversin Tl wrks in tw mdes: Cnnected Mde is cnnected t a CMS Standalne Mde is nt cnnected t CMS After cnversin, the tl assigns ne f three statuses t each reprt: Fully Cnverted the cnverted reprt is identical t riginal reprt Partly Cnverted the cnverted reprt is nt fully identical t riginal reprt Nt Cnverted cmpletely nt cnverted 2009 SAP AG 3

4 Step-by-Step Prcess Cnverting dcuments Befre launching Reprt Cnversin Tl, make sure that available f audit database and that was assigned t Reprt Cnversin Tl. 1. Lg n t the Central Management Cnsle (CMC). 2. Click Applicatins -> Reprt Cnversin Tl. 3. Click Prperties SAP AG 4

5 4. Lg n t Reprt Cnversin Tl in cnnected mde by prviding the server name, username, passwrd and authenticatin. 5. Select the Desktp Intelligence dcuments t cnvert frm the repsitry flders r categries Select Flder t view the repsitry by flder r select Categry t view the repsitry by categry. (Bx 1) 7. Click the arrw buttns t mve the dcuments frm left t right panel and vise versa (Bx 2) SAP AG 5

6 8. Click the Shw uncnverted dcuments nly checkbx t display nly the dcuments which are nt cnverted (Bx 3). If planning t d cnversin later, save the list f reprts fr cnversin t a file in a XML frmat and pen this file later t ppulate this list. 9. Click Save List t save the selected dcuments fr cnversin list t a file in a XML frmat. Bx 4 details the list f dcuments selected t cnvert. 10. Click Open List t pen this file t ppulate the saved list f dcuments fr cnversin (Bx 5). 11. Click the Cnvert dcuments cntaining free-hand SQL / stred prcedures checkbx if the list f reprts t be cnverted includes ne r mre reprts cntaining free-hand SQL / stred prcedure (Bx 6). If yu d nt select this checkbx, dcuments cntaining free-hand SQL / stred prcedure are nt cnverted SAP AG 6

7 12. Click Next t start cnverting the selected dcuments fr cnversin. 13. Click Clse t mve t next screen SAP AG 7

8 Cmpare and save dcuments 1. Cmpare and save the cnversin results in audit database. Detail 1 displays the status f the cnversin result Click the Cmpare fully cnverted dcuments checkbx t cmpare fully cnverted dcuments with riginal dcuments (Detail 2). 3. Click the Save cnversin results in audit database checkbx t save the cnversin results in audit database by selecting the available audit cnnectins (Bx 3). Radi buttn Delete all rws f the audit table befre inserting new rws clears existing data in the audit table befre auditing the current cnversin (user specific). Radi buttn Keep previus rws in audit table appends new rws t the existing audit tables. Prvide a cmment, if needed t maintain in the audit table fr each rw f a specific cnversin (Bx 4) SAP AG 8

9 4. Click Next t start cmparing the cnverted dcuments with riginal dcuments. Click Clse t mve next screen. 5. Select the cnverted dcuments t publish. If needed, rename the cnverted dcuments and change the publicatin flder and categry SAP AG 9

10 6. Click Open Audit Reprt t view audit reprt. By clicking this, it requests the CMS server details, by inputting server name, username, passwrd and authenticatin. It pens an audit reprt in InfView. 7. Click View Differences t view the changes ccurred during cnversin in surce view and target views separately SAP AG 10

11 8. Click Next t mve t final screen t start publishing the cnverted dcuments int repsitry. 9. Click Clse t end the cnversin. 10. Click Exit t exit frm Reprt Cnversin Tl, r click Return t Start t mve t the first screen f the tl SAP AG 11
