7 INTEGRATED CAD/CAM Alphacam is a completely integrated CAD/CAM software solution with advanced features. It is designed to offer your business enhanced productivity, exceptional reliability and additional flexibility. Alphacam also offers you the latest front end CAD part modelling facilities via our solid modeller. Alphacam is available in the following modules: Alphacam Standard Router Standard Router is the ideal product for wood shops and subcontractors and offers an excellent solution for the joinery, shop-fitting and point-topoint panel processing industries. Alphacam Advanced Router Advanced Router offers all the functionality of the standard package with additional support for nested-based manufacturing and complex aggregate routing. Alphacam Advanced 3D 3-Axis Router Alphacam Advanced 3D 3-Axis Router is targeted at the manufacturer who works with complex, free-form patterns and tools. The module offers complex 3D machining strategies along with the functionality of the lower specification modules. Alphacam Advanced 3D 5-Axis Router Alphacam Advanced 3D 5-Axis Router supports full 5-axis simultaneous machining for high-specification joinery and furniture manufacturers. Additional Products Alphacam for Editing, a multi-window text editor specifically designed for NC programmers, is included with every Alphacam module. It offers standard text editor features as well as NC specific features such as line re-numbering and program comparison. It can be used to print out operator sheets for the workshop, showing the operation list with types, tools and cycle times which are automatically generated by all Alphacam modules. Alphacam for Viewing has been specifically designed for use on the shop floor and allows machine tool operators to have some control over the NC program output to the machine tool. Now an engineer has the ability to simulate and edit existing Alphacam programs, such as toolpaths, tool numbers, speeds and feeds, without the need to interrupt your programming team with minor modifications to the NC code. Alphacam for CAD creation offers full function 2D and 3D features for fast creation of machine suitable geometries.

Choose from our comprehensive library of styles which can save you hours of design time or create your own by introducing the required parameters the choice is yours. Fascia doors and drawer fronts can be produced individually or nested to ensure optimal use of each panel. 11 WINDOW PRODUCTION Alphacam for windows is a powerful parametric program that enables windows to be created and edited from an extensive library of designs, saving critical time in the design process and reducing potential design-stage bottlenecks which could affect productivity. Alternatively, simply select a window design from your company s own inventory and add the required parameters. Again, production flexibility is key and Alphacam for windows ensures that even the shortest runs can be achieved without any loss in efficiency. The result is an invaluable gain for both window manufacturers and their customers. Using conventional methods, the production of a window may take hours but with alphacam for windows the design and complete machining of the required components and frames now takes a fraction of this time. Even for windows with curved tops which often cause a problem with production, all the machining activity is swiftly worked out by the software and downloaded to CNC equipment. Whatever the design complexity, Alphacam for windows simplifies and accelerates production. Custom made windows are now as easy to produce as standard designs. Our software provides a made-to-order solution for individual sizing and enables each window to be specified individually, providing opportunities for premium pricing. In addition, a link with Alphacam for management enables built in bar coding and part labelling functions as well as the generation of production management reports and cutting lists.

13 Alphacam CAD to CAM CAD-to-CAM is a power tool for the automated nested-based manufacturing of cabinet type parts originated in cabinet design software and includes bar-coding, part-labeling, and report functions. Export the data through CAD-to-CAM to Alphacam where the program will automatically generate the necessary toolpaths, optimally nest the parts, order the tool paths and create the NC code to cut the parts on your machine. CAD-to-CAM is a core Visual Basic application that offers a seamless link to data generated by 3D cabinet design software. It is specific to individual cabinet design software programs. Customers may work with leading cabinet design software programs to create their designs. Using its clever nesting algorithms Alphacam creates NC code to cut and Multidrill nested sheets of parts, ensuring optimum yield and efficiency. Additional operations such as horizontal drilling can also be handled. CAD-to-CAM is fully interactive, providing many valuable options such as varied lead-in/ lead-outs, small part machining options, and permits the user to have full control of the operation through defining nesting options, machining speeds, feeds, rapids and Z-levels, while gaining the benefits of automation. Multidrill The Multidrill function simplifies the process of tool path application for all drilling functions. Configuration templates are created specifically for the multiple spindle drill unit found on each machine(s). Drill properties and machining information is entered within an easy to use wizard style interface. Upon completion of the wizard, Multidrill automatically optimizes and assigns all drilling tool paths.

Although, our products are very user-friendly, employing intuitive pull down menu options and short cut buttons, you will want to learn to use the product to its fullest capacity to achieve the desired productivity gains. Many of our three-day classes are held consecutively by a two-day specialty class, to minimize the amount of time spent out of your shop. We try to keep our classes small so your attending team member(s) can get personalized attention. Planit On-site Training Planit provides on-site training to customers who fi nd they have a group of team members that require a specialized training need or unique applications. Planit Online Training Online training is available to customers with high-speed Internet connections and can be tailored to meet specifi c needs. Typically these sessions are 1-2 hours in length and cover one basic topic such as Nesting, Multidrill, or Basic Constraints. Planit Certified Educational Institutions Planit has a number of education facilities that are certifi ed to train students on the use of Planit products. The combination of these plans will keep the Planit software at the current level and provide each customer with a variety of communication avenues to our trained product service personnel. This manual outlines all the service offerings available from Planit, providing every customer with access information to these important services. Planit Telephone Support* Customers can reach our Technical Support Department at from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Standard Time. Telephone support provides customers with one-to-one contact with trained product service personnel. Users subscribe to this service for an annual prepaid fee and gain unlimited access to our trained product service personnel by telephone when technical issues arise.
