C-LINK - The Link Between CAD, Test and Production Reducing Time To Market, Cutting Costs, Adding Quality, Increasing Profitability Introduced in 1985, C-LINK was the first product to link CAD, test, repair and production in a single platform. In 1989, C-LINK was introduced to the market as a stand-alone product supporting other tester manufacturers. C-LINK DTM is a state of the art solution that supports all leading board test systems. It not only includes enhanced test functionality, but also incorporates a high performance solution for optimizing board assembly lines. Software Tools Electronics manufacturers are challenged by continuous innovation, ever-increasing global competition, price pressure and a need to coordinate design and manufacturing centers at different locations. C-LINK helps them to be more competitive by bridging the gap between Design and Manufacturing to achieve faster time to build, time to market and time to volume, cost reductions and higher quality. It is a modular scaleable integrated solution for any electronics circuit board manufacturer, small, medium or large.

All C-LINK software is upwards compatible with future releases to protect customersí investment. ROI (Return On Investment) on a typical C-LINK configuration is after processing 5 to 8 boards. The more complex the boards, the faster the ROI.

CITE Computer Integrated Test Environment CITE utilizes all data coming from C-LINK (BOM, Test Strategy, Component Test Libraries, ECOs, Versions, etc.) to automatically generate and debug test programs. All the MTS family (from the simple analog ICT to the full hybrid ICT and the flying probe tester) utilizes CITE as a test platform, so that test program generated on one tester can be migrated to another tester without translation effort. Almost no additional training needed to move from one tester to the other within the MTS tester family. Also, CITE allows migration from other testers produced by major ATE companies. Software Tools Version and ECO handling Analog, digital and complex component library Automatic test program generation Menu-driven program generation Pattern Executive for developing and debugging digital tests Visual Basic for complex applications User-friendly debug window with auto learn and stability calculations Use online board layout & schematics Test quality reports

Fixing The Process Not Just The Product Whenever quality counts, C-LINK Quality Mananagement (QMan) is there to monitor, detect and analyze quality related problems and then offer solutions. This can range from simple problem reporting by importing fault data direct from test machines, to complex data analysis and identifying error trends. QMan continuously measures the performance and integrity of the line and sends alarms whenever quality falls below set limits. Using a Microsoft SQL database, the entire history of each board is stored for future repairs if needed. Automatic import of failure data from ATE (Automatic Test Equipment), AOI (Automatic Optical Inspection) and AXI (Automatic X-ray Inspection) systems. Manual entry of failure data collected at visual inspection stations. Automatic monitoring of repeated failures. Generation of real time alarms so that production of faulty boards can be stopped. Fast failure diagnosis and repair guided by historical fault catalog. Graphical display of failure locations on bi-directionally linked intelligent board layout and schematics. Generation of comprehensive reports to guarantee overall process improvement. Top occurrence and percentage threshold filters ensure that process steps that generate faults are fixed.

The Affordable High Quality Test The Eagle is the Digitaltest economic solution for high volume production. Equipped with a Press Down Unit analog and hybrid In- Circuit test pins, the Eagle represents a class of its own. Furthermore, the tester can be equipped with functional test modules to provide higher fault coverage and thus satisfy the test requirements of a vast number of customers. The economics of the tester is by far not limited to the initial costs. The economical press down fixturing solutions reduce the costs of fixturing dramatically and allow the user to create the most complex fixtures with double sided board access, OpensCheck probes from both sides, etc. at reasonable costs that are far under the vacuum fixture costs. Tester Products The Sum of All Test Strategies in One Tester The SIGMA is designed by Digitaltest to meet all demands of today's systems: flexibility, high fault coverage and easy programming. Flexibility is guaranteed by the modular design and the various test methods it offers. Also, as a result of its modular design, the SIGMA can be optimally configured for current needs without limiting the possibilities of future expansion. The system is designed for high throughput and with up to 1,000 measurements/sec it is one of the fastest machines on the market. SIGMA provides analog and digital In- Circuit test capabilities, Vectorless testing, functional test, Boundary Scan and on board programming. Also, it can be integrated in automatic handling systems.

Increasing Test Coverage Without Affecting Cycle Time The concept of concurrent testing is reaching the ultimate depth of test and test coverage through maximizing the utilization of tester hardware with minimum floor space impact and minimum cost of test hardware and handling systems. The concurrent testing allows the user to perform all the tests that are necessary to ensure product quality without increasing the cycle time. For example, the time needed for programming of flash memories will not be multiplied by the number of boards under test because testing and programming of the individual boards will be done simultaneously, thus minimizing the test time. Concurrent Testing Concurrent testing includes real parallel test with small, affordable test heads, a powerful and flexible software environment and complete integration into an automatic board handler.

The Latest Technology in Flying Probe Test This most advanced system is designed to provide a comprehensive prototype and production test platform for electronics manufacturers. The multifaceted test system features rapid program development, high throughput and ability to handle large printed circuit boards.
