General Product Questions 11. Why are we bringing all analytics capabilities in one product? SAP has a unique opportunity to bring together a complete set of analytics capabilities as one product to differentiate against niche competitors in the market who only provide point solutions or a narrow set of analytics capabilities, e.g., BI or planning but not both. This allows users to be able to do their jobs in one experience/workflow versus having to integrate and jump between a number of different applications. For example, a financial planning and analysis professional can access data, analyze it, create reports, run predictive functions, collaborate with others, and plan in one product, as their job requires. 12. My customer is looking for a public cloud solution for planning, should I continue selling SAP Cloud for Planning? Please inform your customer that SAP Cloud for Planning has been renamed to SAP BusinessObjects Cloud for planning. 13. Does SAP BusinessObjects Cloud replace SAP Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC)? No. SAP BusinessObjects Cloud is SaaS-only (not available on premise) that can complement existing deployments of BPC (hybrid deployment). Both versions of BPC have roadmaps and in the case of BPC NW there is extensive planned investment around integration with S/4 HANA Finance. Note that BPC has been rebranded SAP BusinessObjects Planning and Consolidation. 14. How does SAP BusinessObjects Cloud integrate with BPC? Native, bi-directional integration is available to move data and metadata between BPC (both Microsoft and SAP NetWeaver versions) and SAP BusinessObjects Cloud vs having to use flat files.

15. How should I position SAP BusinessObjects Cloud vs. BPC? If your customer is looking for a SaaS-based planning application (or is indifferent to whether it s SaaS or on premise), you should position SAP BusinessObjects Cloud. If they are looking for an on premise solution, or looking for a unified planning and consolidation application then BPC should be positioned (in particular BPC NW if the customer is looking for a BW-based planning solution with deep and unique integration into S/4 HANA Finance). As mentioned above, both can be used in a hybrid scenario. In fact, one of our first Cloud for Planning deals was to an existing BPC customer for a hybrid scenario. 16. My customer is looking for a public cloud solution for BI, should I continue selling SAP Lumira, cloud edition? SAP BusinessObjects Cloud is generally available. As mentioned above, please inform your customer that SAP BusinessObjects Cloud replaces SAP Lumira, cloud edition and paid subscriptions to the cloud edition of SAP Lumira will be transitioned to SAP BusinessObjects Cloud. As of Q2 2016, SAP Lumira, cloud edition is no longer available for sale. 17. Does SAP BusinessObjects Cloud replace on-premise versions of SAP Lumira? No. SAP BusinessObjects Cloud is SaaS-only (not available on premise) that can complement existing on-premise deployments of SAP Lumira (hybrid deployment). 18. How should I position SAP BusinessObjects Cloud vs. SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.x and SAP Lumira? If your customer is looking for SaaS-based BI, you should position SAP BusinessObjects Cloud. If they are looking for on-premise BI, then SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.x and SAP Lumira should be positioned. For information about new packaging and branding for SAP BusinessObjects onpremise solutions see the FAQ: SAP Employees SAP Partners SAP Customers

19. Does SAP BusinessObjects Cloud complement and integrate with SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.x? SAP BusinessObjects Cloud is designed to access many of the same data sources available to SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.x, including universes, SAP BW BEx queries, and SAP HANA views. 20. Does SAP BusinessObjects Cloud integrate with SAP Lumira, desktop edition? SAP Lumira 1.31 and later versions are able to publish datasets to SAP BusinessObjects Cloud. 21. Is SAP de-emphasizing SAP Lumira and SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.x in favor of SAP BusinessObjects Cloud? Not at all. Today the vast majority of our customers use on-premise software and we will continue to support and innovate this deployment model. At the same time we are building out new cloudcentric software to support the newer cloud-based deployment model. Virtually all organizations will need a combination of cloud and on-premise deployments, and we will innovate on both sides for the benefit of our customers. In addition we are building data bridges between on-premise and cloud solutions to enable data to be consumed wherever is best. 22. Does SAP BusinessObjects Cloud change the roadmap for SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.x and SAP Lumira? No, it doesn t. We continue to evolve SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.x and SAP Lumira with a strong set of on-premise innovations. SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.2 provides key new features like a new commentary service, and parallel query support and direct access to SAP HANA in SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence. SAP Lumira continues its rapid evolution with new features that will improve SAP BW connectivity, add more formatting options to cross tabs, provide a formula editor for scripting complex expressions, and more. All SAP product and solution roadmaps are available on go.sap.com

23. Will SAP continue on the client convergence strategy for the onpremise BI suite now that SAP BusinessObjects Cloud is released? Yes, it will. In fact we are accelerating our client convergence by combining SAP Lumira and SAP BusinessObjects Design Studio into a single converged solution that combines data discovery and enterprise dashboards. This strategy and focus on simplification remain unchanged with the release of SAP BusinessObjects Cloud. 24. Can SAP BusinessObjects Cloud be deployed on-premise? No. Customers who want to deploy analytics on-premise should focus on the portfolio of onpremise analytics solutions. Customers who want to access on-premise data sources can leverage the hybrid data access architecture in SAP BusinessObjects Cloud and gain the benefits of software-as-a-service without having to move their data to the cloud. 25. Will SAP BusinessObjects Cloud ever support offline authoring of documents? Offline authoring is an important requirement in enterprise environments and we have looked into it. However, we focus on the SaaS model to lead this growing segment of the market with best-ofbreed capabilities. 26. Is SAP BusinessObjects Cloud the successor for SAP Smart Business, executive edition? Yes. The features and functions of SAP Smart Business, executive edition are getting moved to SAP BusinessObjects Cloud, which then gives users access to the additional capabilities of SAP BusinessObjects Cloud, like planning and predictive analytics. The development for SAP Smart Business, executive edition has been stopped and its End of Maintenance is planned for 30 September 2017.

27. When can we expect SAP BusinessObjects Cloud features equivalent to SAP Smart Business, executive edition to be available on-premise? There is no plan to have SAP BusinessObjects Cloud available on-premise. However, SAP BusinessObjects Cloud is designed to access the same on-premise data sources as SAP Smart Business, executive edition, like SAP HANA views and SAP BW BEx queries, and also SAP BusinessObjects universes. This hybrid data access is designed to not force the replication of onpremise data into the cloud. 28. Which executive dashboarding capability should we position to our on-premise customers? Please keep positioning the SAP BusinessObjects BI Suite with SAP BusinessObjects Design Studio as the forward-looking dashboarding product to customers looking for on-premise BI. 29. How does management, auditing, and data governance work in SAP BusinessObjects Cloud? Is it compatible with solutions such as SAP Information Steward? We are building tenant accessible management, auditing and data governance capabilities in SAP BusinessObjects Cloud. Additionally, many of the features, and in some cases technology, from SAP Information Steward is already available in SAP HANA, and by extension SAP HANA Cloud Platform. So while we do not plan to integrate with SAP Information Steward as a stand-alone product, we are already and will continue to avail ourselves of its capabilities. 30. Why is social collaboration in SAP BusinessObjects Cloud not based on the existing cloud-based SAP collaboration solution, SAP Jam? In order to create a seamless experience between business intelligence, planning, predictive analytics, and collaboration we built social collaboration capabilities directly into the user experience. SAP Jam is a social collaboration platform that has extensive functionality that can be used in conjunction with SAP BusinessObjects Cloud.

31. Does SAP BusinessObjects Cloud integrate with SAP HANA Vora? There is no direct integration at this point. We are looking at multiple options and technologies, including SAP HANA Vora, to support hybrid Big Data analytics scenarios where Big Data stays on-premise. Positioning and Messaging Questions 32. What are our key messages for SAP BusinessObjects Cloud? With the rise of the digital economy and emergence of the millennial workforce, people are demanding more and SAP has responded. Only SAP solutions appeal to both the business buyer/user who wants analytics that are simple to acquire and use and to the CIO/IT department who needs the end-to-end governance, security, and manageability of a trusted, enterprise solution. How should I position SAP BusinessObjects Cloud to other LOB audiences? SAP helps lines of business users o get immediate access to analytics via subscription. 13 Because only SAP provides o BI, planning, predictive, GRC (future), and collaboration in one agile product o and access to all your data SAP and non-sap, on-prem and in the cloud o and a trusted cloud platform that fulfills highest security, data protection demands, and availability on a global basis Unlike other analytics software vendors o which only provide point solutions (for BI, planning, predictive, or GRC analytics) o or are difficult to integrate and maintain o or are built on legacy proprietary architectures not designed for the cloud 36. How should I position BusinessObjects Cloud for SuccessFactors when there is already a SuccessFactors Workforce Analytics & Planning solution? SuccessFactors Workforce Analytics & Planning is the market leader in HR analytics with 30+ years of experience, thousands of industry standard metrics, analytical models, and methodologies for analytics and workforce planning. Therefore, SuccessFactors and SAP HCM account executives who are working with customers and prospects interested in purpose-built, content-rich analytics for SuccessFactors should continue to position SuccessFactors Workforce Analytics & Planning. If the prospect is seeking a general-purpose cloud analytics solution for multiple data sources and applications, including data from SuccessFactors, they should be directed towards SAP BusinessObjects Cloud. SAP is making a significant engineering investment in BusinessObjects Cloud and our product development teams are working closely together on ways to leverage that technology within the HCM LoB. 37. What s the elevator pitch? SAP BusinessObjects Cloud is a new generation of SaaS that provides all analytics capabilities for all users in one product.

38. How is SAP BusinessObjects Cloud differentiated versus other cloud analytics vendor s offerings? Feature Benefit Why differentiator All analytics capabilities in one product Process-oriented user-centric Fiorilike interface Built-in in-context social collaboration Hybrid data access architecture Big data wrangling / data blending Native integration with on-prem SAP Analytics Embedded in SAP LOB apps (future) Hosted in SAP cloud data centers 2-tier architecture powered by SAP HANA Built natively on SAP HANA Cloud Platform Save time and reduce errors by not having to jump between products. Serve the needs of all with one app and break down functional silos. Modern look-&-feel, intuitive and easy to use on any device, get value in a couple of minutes and a few mouse clicks. Have a conversation and take action directly vs jumping to another app. Access all your data SAP and non- SAP, on-prem and in the cloud. Enrich traditional analytics with big data analytics without a separate specialized product. Complement existing on-prem investments in SAP Analytics. Standardization. Increased adoption of analytics. Fulfill highest security, data protection demands, and availability on a global basis. Real-time, high performance, and data intensive applications. Extensibility and scalability (up/out) thanks to modern enterprise class PaaS. Other vendors provide point solutions or some but not all analytics capabilities in one product. Many other vendors offer dated look-&-feel and experience. Other vendors offer limited built-in collaboration or require a separate app. Other vendors require to move all data to the cloud first, Big data discovery products from other vendors only solve part of the analytics equation. Other vendors have inferior access to BPC, BW, HANA, S/4HANA, Lumira data, or universes, or no access at all. Other vendors can t offer a seamless embedded analytics experience with SAP apps on-prem or in the cloud. Safer choice. SAP is more reliable business partner than smaller niche cloud analytics vendors. Other cloud products are 3-tier (separate UI, analytics, and dtb layers), not built on modern in-memory platforms or rely on proprietary platforms that won t scale or perform like HANA Other cloud products are not built on a powerful and feature rich PaaS thereby limiting the scalability and robustness of their apps running in the cloud.

39. How do I communicate the different sets of capabilities in SAP BusinessObjects Cloud? SAP BusinessObjects Cloud is SaaS-only and we no longer want to position SAP Lumira, server version for SAP HANA; what should I position to my customers looking for on-premise analytics built natively on SAP HANA? You should position SAP Lumira, server version for the SAP BusinessObjects BI platform. It supports SAP HANA as a high-performance calculation engine while adding all of the enterprise ready capabilities that customers of SAP Lumira, server version for SAP HANA have been asking for. 41. SAP Lumira and SAP BusinessObjects Design Studio documents are not compatible with SAP BusinessObjects Cloud; what should we say to customers when they ask why? SAP Lumira 1.31 and later supports the publishing of datasets along with metadata to SAP BusinessObjects Cloud. Additionally, SAP BusinessObjects Cloud is designed to access the same data sources available to SAP Lumira and SAP BusinessObjects Design Studio, including SAP BusinessObjects universes, SAP BW BEx queries and SAP HANA views.

42. Given the overlap in functionality between SAP BusinessObjects Cloud and other analytics products in the portfolio, won t our R&D end up having to develop future functionality several times? SAP BusinessObjects Cloud and other analytics products in the portfolio have their own roadmaps and are at different stages of development. SAP BusinessObjects Cloud is developed on one new code-line with all analytics capabilities within one user experience. While designed to address similar user needs, we are not replicating features across on-premise and cloud solutions. 43. Customers not interested in cloud analytics today might know that they will likely need more of it in the future; won t they now be reluctant to invest time and effort into building analytics content on-premise knowing that they might have to redo that work in the cloud in the future? We continue to invest to innovate our on-premise analytics solutions for customers where onpremise is the preferred deployment model. SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.x, SAP Lumira, SAP BPC, SAP Predictive Analytics, etc. all have strong compelling roadmaps and customers can continue to use these solutions. Customers that know they want to go to the cloud should start using/building new content in SAP BusinessObjects Cloud. 44. The hybrid data access architecture is a strength of SAP BusinessObjects Cloud, but won t the lack of document compatibility between on-premise and cloud deployments force customers to build documents twice? Customers who want to deploy in the cloud should create all of their content using SAP BusinessObjects Cloud and leverage the hybrid data access architecture of SAP BusinessObjects Cloud to access to data either on-premise or in the cloud. 45. How does SAP BusinessObjects Cloud fit with our trusted data discovery" messaging? SAP BusinessObjects Cloud perpetuates the trusted data discovery message in 4 ways. As a cloudnative solution, security is paramount and SAP s focus on security, quality and trust is priority number one. We are designing SAP BusinessObjects Cloud so that it can connect to trusted corporate data sources like SAP HANA views (available today), SAP BW BEx queries (available today) and SAP BusinessObjects Universes.

46. How can customers of SAP Lumira, cloud edition move to SAP BusinessObjects Cloud that doesn t support offline authoring? Customers who require offline authoring should remain on SAP Lumira. They can deploy SAP Lumira, server version for the SAP BusinessObjects BI platform in SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud, Amazon Web Services, or Microsoft Azure, should they also require cloud-based deployment of SAP Lumira content. 47. SAP BusinessObjects Design Studio and SAP Lumira are perceived as being relatively new products in the market, why weren t they designed with cloud deployment in mind? It is only recently that the adoption of cloud analytics solutions is gaining momentum. SAP BusinessObjects Design Studio and SAP Lumira were launched a few years ago already. 48. Could SAP BusinessObjects Cloud lead customers to review their overall analytics strategy, look at competitor alternatives, and potentially stall deals? We run this risk anytime we introduce a new product. It is critical to continue messaging the continued investment in our portfolio of on-premise solutions to customers looking for on-premise analytics, while focusing the positioning of SAP BusinessObjects Cloud to customers looking for SaaS-based analytics. 49. Should I position SAP BusinessObjects Cloud to an OEM partner? Yes, in some cases. If your OEM partner is looking for SaaS-based BI hosted on SAP HANA Cloud Platform, you should position SAP BusinessObjects Cloud. However, be aware that embedding and extending SDKs are not yet available for SAP BusinessObjects Cloud. Please keep positioning SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.x to OEM partners looking for an on-premise BI solution or BI for their cloud solutions running on virtual private clouds. There are no plans to have SAP BusinessObjects Cloud available to install on-premise or in our partner s datacenters.
