1 How to Submit a Timesheet Note: A signed timesheet is submitted once at the end of the semester in a single PDF document. Read below for further instructions on navigating CSUN s S4 database to submit the form. STEP 1 Using any browser on your computer, visit the CSUN s S4 Database using the link shown below: STEP 2 Select CSU Northridge from the list of colleges

2 STEP 3 Select the Student/ Faculty login option. Refer to login instructions for more information on logging in. STEP 4 Make sure you are placed in a course and have selected a site. For more information on placement and site selection, refer to our designated guide. STEP 5 After logging in, you will see your placement progress bar. Select the green Continue button.

3 STEP 6 The page that follows will show a list of placement forms as shown below: STEP 7 Scroll down to the Download Forms section. Next to Student Time Sheet, click on the orange Download form button to generate a PDF of the timesheet form.

4 STEP 8 You have the option of downloading a PDF copy of the Student Timesheet Form to use it to keep track of all the hours you worked during your assignment. It is not mandatory to use this form. To be valid and complete, the form must be signed by you and your site supervisor, contain the site supervisor s initials next to each entry, and have the total hours calculated. If you have questions regarding your site supervisor, please contact your professor. STEP 9 Gather your timesheet or timesheets and make sure they are signed and account for all hours worked (virtual or physical) at the site you placed. You are responsible for keeping track of all the hours you worked. Submitting a Timesheet at the end of the semester is MANDATORY. Keeping a signed timesheet will protect you from liability while at the site. You can keep a digital copy of your timesheets to prevent losing them. *If you have more than one timesheet for a site, combine all the forms into one word document and export as a PDF. Note: The database only accepts PDF format.

5 STEP 10 Once you re ready to submit, go back to the Placement Forms page of the S4 database and go to the End of Placement Forms section. Next to Timesheet Submission Form (Service Learning Students), click on the red Complete form button. Once you click the red button, it will generate the following page:

6 STEP 11 After filling out the required fields on the page, upload one PDF file of all your signed and completed timesheets. Click on choose file and click upload. STEP 12 When you are ready to submit, click on the red Submit button. Make sure you have reviewed your timesheet before uploading and submitting. You can only submit this once. STEP 13 When you have submitted all required forms, finish your placement by clicking Finish Placement as shown below.

7 Special Circumstance Submission In the unusual circumstance that you are required to re-submit a timesheet again, scroll down to your placements and click on the red place button to access the placement forms page. Scroll down and under the Other Forms section, click on Second Chance to Submit a Timesheet. Fill out the form and click submit.
