Services for process analytics Legacy program

Product migration solutions and services Don t trade in, trade up A legacy of improvement The Legacy program provides a range of value-added services and cost-saving trade-up offers. All Legacy program services and offers share a commitment to increasing the effectiveness of your equipment and the efficiency of your operation. These services and offers include: C Legacy site audit services C Optichrom Trade-up Program C Advanced Plus door upgrade Legacy site audit services provide comprehensive analysis and data to improve your operation. Likewise, the Optichrom Trade-up Program provides the opportunity to replace or enhance your current equipment with new Siemens products. As an experienced and renowned world leader in analytical technology, especially for the hydrocarbon processing industry, Siemens is uniquely positioned to be your one-stop solutions and services provider. Siemens values our relationship with our customers and their equipment. Therefore, we are prepared to offer more than typical service and trade-in for similar equipment. Instead, the Siemens Legacy program allows you to trade up to new Siemens equipment. 2

Siemens Legacy site audit services In order to upgrade your equipment, you need to have a complete understanding of your current system. As your solutions and services partner, we will help you increase productivity. Siemens Legacy site audit services are performed in a comprehensive three-phase process. The first phase consists of visiting your site to audit existing analyzers and systems. Second, we perform an application review with the aim of optimizing your processes by taking advantage of new technology. Finally, we evaluate your data communications and review your system as a whole. A report will be generated from the audit providing a summary of your current situation and recommendations for improvements. 3

MAXUM II Optichrom Trade-up Program As a part of the Legacy program, Siemens offers a trade-up voucher on new MAXUM II or MicroSAM analyzers whenever you return an older Siemens process gas chromatograph (GC).* Trading up to a MAXUM II or MicroSAM is easy. Simply contact your Siemens chromatograph account manager and ask to have the allowance information included on the Siemens quotation for your new MAXUM II or MicroSAM analyzer. What can be offered today is a $5,000 trade-in allowance for each Optichrom GC. To take advantage of this offer, you must return your existing Optichrom GCs to the Siemens Bartlesville, OK factory location. You are responsible for the costs of removal, packing, and freight. The trade-up equipment supplied to Siemens must be physically intact and include all internal components such as electronic circuit boards, detectors, valves, and columns. Siemens personnel will verify that the received products comply with these requirements. The trade-in allowance will be valid for one year after issuance. The permitted allowance, as determined and calculated by Siemens, will then be applied to your account after receipt of the Optichrom GC. A letter will be sent verifying the allowance and expiration date. Some examples of uses for the trade-in allowance include the purchase of future analyzers ($5,000 maximum allowance per each new GC), analyzer training school, field service work, and spare parts. If you have plants in several U.S. locations, the allowance can be used at any of your plants, unless you designate the allowance to a particular plant. 5

Beyond a trade-up allowance A trade-up allowance is a good reason to make the move to the MAXUM II or MicroSAM, but it s far from the only one. In fact, the MAXUM II or MicroSAM offers a variety of benefits, including: C Reduced number of analyzers required to deliver an accurate analysis C Shortened cycle times and improved accuracy of real-time analysis C Enhanced application efficiency by taking advantage of new technologies C Reduced cost of ownership C Increased information for personnel to run plant and engineering in supporting and implementing advanced control strategies C Expanded support capabilities C Simplified system architecture as a result of utilizing new technologies Advanced Plus door upgrade Another opportunity to upgrade and save is the Advanced Plus door trade-up offer. When you purchase an Advanced Plus upgrade kit or an Advanced Plus door assembly as a spare part, you may receive a trade-up voucher by returning your ACB-2 Controller Board.** Advanced Plus door 6

Savings today and tomorrow Far beyond just providing a one-time trade-up allowance, the benefits of the Advanced Plus door upgrade extend to include the following significant migration advantages: C Reduction in costs of pre-purchase engineering and preparation of purchase specifications C Ability to use existing sample conditioning systems C Ability to use existing and known working application methods, columns, valves, and other oven hardware C Elimination of the need to learn or be trained on new application procedures C Significant reduction in system downtime during the upgrade or migration C Ability to upgrade chromatographs using plant maintenance personnel as well as the elimination of the need to hire and manage outside labor C Ability to use existing housing or shelters with the assurance that existing space is adequate C Ability to use existing network input and output hardware as well as existing interfaces to host computers Choose Legacy choose Siemens More than just a site audit or trade-up allowance, when you choose the Legacy program from Siemens you are choosing experience, proven engineering, and a comprehensive range of solutions. C Experience Siemens has more than 80 years of analytical experience in the chemical and refining industry C Engineering Siemens offers a combination of solid application experience and state-of-the-art electronics, software, hardware, system design, system integration, and communications C Siemens is your single source for a complete range of solutions and services including service agreements, application engineering, Legacy site audits, field service, training, installation and start-up, revamps, and upgrades C Continued validity of CSA, CENELEC, or other safety certifications which were in place on older units being upgraded. As electronics work performed by any other vendor than Siemens is not supported or documented in Siemens certificates, only Siemens can offer certificate continuity and allow you to avoid the necessity of removing existing tagging. To find out more about the Legacy program, Siemens site audits, MAXUM II Analyzers, MicroSAM Analyzers, and Advanced Plus doors upgrades, contact your Siemens chromatograph account manager today The Legacy program and these offers can be discontinued without notice. * Some limitations apply. The trade-up equipment supplied to Siemens must be physically intact and complete with all internal components such as electronic circuit boards, detectors, valves, and columns. See your Siemens chromatograph account manager for details. This program can be discontinued without notice. **As the buyer, you are responsible for the cost of removal and shipping. 7
