3 Who is Sakson today? Headquartered in Dubai UAE, Sakson Drilling & Oil Services is a drilling contractor dedicated to serving the oil and gas industry. The company offers reliable, cost-effective services, along with highly skilled personnel and a young fleet of land drilling rigs. With over a decade of experience operating in challenging locations and a strong commitment to safety, the environment and local communities, Sakson provides a customised, integrated service that creates value for its clients, project stakeholders and shareholders. Sakson believes that by combining its quality assets, highly skilled experienced employees and integrated management system (SIMS), it will continue to provide safe, efficient operations and maintain its position as a costeffective onshore drilling contractor. Today, Sakson enjoys a diverse portfolio of projects throughout the Middle East and Africa regions, operating currently a fleet of 8 land rigs, all of which are Sakson owned. The capacity of this fleet ranges from 1,000HP truck-mounted units to 3,000HP rigs, with the ability to reach a maximum depth of 7,000 meters. 4 Timeline 2006 Sakson Group was incorporated in 2006 as an independent drilling contractor, specialising in the management of drilling rigs and tubular running services In 2008, Sakson became one of the first drilling contractors to expand its operations into Iraqi- Kurdistan Sakson purchased its first rig in 2011 and expanded its geographical footprint into Africa, commencing operations in both Tanzania and Kenya. Sakson signed its first contract Sakson strengthened its presence in Iraqi-Kurdistan and expanded operations to the Southern Region of Iraq Sakson expanded its capital due to success achieved in the MENA region and acquired a further four rigs and commenced operations in Turkmenistan and Algeria. 4

5 2013 Sakson moved into its new Dubai headquarters Sakson strengthens its foundations in the Middle East by proceeding with the prequalification process for both Abu Dhabi and Kuwait As well as initiating an interest to establish operations in Pakistan, Sakson successfully prequalified with Sonatrach, opening up many more perspectives for the company in Algeria Sakson increased its rig fleet to eight and expanded upon its existing operational footprint in North Africa Sakson established a new integrated management system (SIMS), which was later subject to an external audit and successfully certified to three industry standards. 5

7 Sakson Integrated Management System (SIMS) Sakson s Integrated Management System (SIMS) created in 2016, integrates various management systems that the company had developed over time. SIMS dictates how the company conducts its business and ensures that products and services meet customer expectations. SIMS covers all aspects of the business and consists of 11 elements. Sakson believes that health, safety, quality and environmental performance are integral parts of its business and therefore adopts an integrated approach to the development, use and continual improvement of SIMS. The success of SIMS is rooted in the proactive participation of every employee. Upon completing this merging exercise, SIMS was the subject to external certification audits. On completion of these audits, SIMS was issued with 3 industry standards, ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OHAS 18001:

8 Drilling Services Sakson Drilling & Oil Services is a lean organisation with its drilling division focused predominately on the Middle East and Africa, specialised in providing efficient, cost effective land drilling services in both challenging and remote locations. The company is dedicated to on-time spudding of contracts and minimising downtime, while still maintaining a strong focus on safety, the environment and local stakeholders. Recent challenges imposed on the industry by the volatility of the oil price, provided Sakson with the opportunity to re-evaluate the way it does business. Sakson s management believes that this is a perfect time to focus on efficiency, concentrate on reducing down-time and evaluate costs by streamlining procurement and working closer with OEM s. Going forward, the company s main focus will remain to serve its clients better and keep a close eye on efficiency, which in turn will reduce costs for all those involved. The driving forces behind Sakson s success in achieving top quartile drilling performances are the experience of its skilled employees, the implementation of its integrated management system (SIMS) and a strict adherence to HSE guidelines. This integrated service model provides maximum support to a client s well planning efforts, giving the client the opportunity to make optimal use of Sakson s equipment, planning and drilling knowledge. In order to stay in-line with the industry s demand and to ensure that the equipment used to execute a contract complies with client requirements, Sakson is continuously investing in new equipment to keep its fleet reliable. Client satisfaction and a steady dialogue with the client are cornerstones of Sakson s business model. The company s current fleet consists of 8 land rigs, ranging from 1,000HP to 3,000HP with the ability to reach a maximum depth of 7,000 meters. 10 SK301 - ALGERIA Workover Services Sakson offers onshore integrated workover services to local and international oil and gas companies predominantly in Middle East and Africa regions. The company has a wealth of experience when it comes to workover services, most recently in Algeria, where it has conducted workover operations for the past 3 years on more than 30 wells. As demand for workover operations is closely related to that of the oil and gas prices, Sakson understands the need for efficient and effective workover programmes. All workover services conducted by Sakson are done so by an experienced workforce, that hold both the technical knowledge and dedication to get the job done safely and efficiently. 11 Sakson Skilled Technicians Sakson offers complete drilling crews for both oil and gas operators and rig contractors, ranging from Roustabout to Senior Drilling Positions. Holding over 12 years of experience as a drilling contractor has enabled the organisation to build employment relationships with highly-skilled drilling experts, capable of executing the most complex of projects. With a high percentage of Sakson s experience coming from remote and challenging locations, the company understands how important it is to specifically tailor a crew to accommodate regional requirements. Due to this, clients can rely on Sakson to deploy suitable personnel, with the correct knowledge and experience to the right location. The company s ability to provide both highly skilled and technical personnel is demonstrated from as far back as 2009 when the Iraqi Drilling Company (IDC) and the Turkish Petroleum International Company (TPIC) contacted Sakson, requesting support in managing over 15 rigs and to provide in excess of 300 crew, inclusive of Senior Drilling Positions. Sakson continues to achieve such results by sharing the company s global drilling expertise and focusing on the training and development of local people. Long term projects for the likes of IDC and TPIC are a clear illustration of Sakson s commitment to local economies. 11

14 QHSE Standards & Certification Sakson is committed to achieve on an ongoing basis, an outstanding QHSE performance. The Company is aware of the challenges to excel in the implementation of its integrated management system (SIMS), but it has the processes and procedures in place to reach and maintain its goal of optimising its contribution to the continued success of its clients, by working incident free, on-time and within budget. In its drive to meet and exceed the applicable industry standards, Sakson provides to its employees training sessions and processes, as well as continually invests in best practices. SIMS was established to enhance Sakson s performance and to ensure that there is no deviation from standard technical procedures. SIMS ensures that all risks associated with different operational activities have been clearly identified, and either completely eliminated or minimised to As Low As Reasonably Practical Levels (ALARP). SIMS demonstrates the Company s firm commitment towards the protection of the environment and its drive to comply with applicable local regulations in each country it operates in. In addition, Sakson always works to ensure safe delivery of its services through a companywide commitment to implement SIMS which integrates QHSE into the company s business philosophy. The job description of each employee within Sakson specifies the responsibilities for the implementation of SIMS. Effective implementation of SIMS requires Sakson management to conduct routine and periodical audits, as well as the follow-up of any corrective actions taken. 15 Environment Sakson understands the importance of reducing any impact its operations may have on the environment to an absolute minimum. Throughout the organisation, environmental performance is seen as a collective responsibility. Sakson supports and stimulates its staff, as well as the staff of its clients and contractors to encourage one another with concern and respect for the environment. Sakson s management is fully committed to ensure that environmental responsibility is integrated into all policies, work practices, training and decision making. For Sakson, local content means supporting initiatives of local governments and local communities aimed towards maximising the national value creation by means of the oil and gas value chain through employment, value-addition, technology transfer and the acquisition of knowledge. It encompasses community investments such as local staffing and procurement as well as capacity building. It also represents both challenges and opportunities for the company. To comply with the contract terms set out by host nations as well as by its clients, training and developing the talent of local employees, working closely together with local suppliers and transferring knowledge to local communities continue to be a priority for Sakson. 17 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Sakson s strategic priority is to nurture long-term relationships with local governments, communities and key stakeholders, with the ultimate goal of creating a positive and lasting contribution to economic and social development in the communities and countries where it operates. Sakson s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) processes and activities are integrated into its business planning at corporate level, at countrylevel as well as at rig-level, and are an integral part of its integrated management system (SIMS). Under this model, all CRS activities are managed by the company s executive s team, with the management teams at country and rig level establishing their CSR activities in line with that of Sakson s corporate commitments and in close consultation with the client.
