2 Ivanti Interchange Boot Camp Posted by Lillie Swearingen, Technical Analyst Nancy, Lillie, Rob, Derly Derly Buentello, Nancy Grella, and Lillie Swearingen attended the Ivanti Interchange Bootcamp for Endpoint Manager to learn more about the ins and outs of the product. The course was taught by Rob Woodruff and was very informative.

3 Ivanti Interchange 2018 Posted by Derly Buentello, Technical Analyst Derly, Steve Daly, Steve Morton, Anthony The Ivanti Interchange 2018 theme revolved around Unified IT and breaking down IT silos with increased visibility and automated processes. A new ELA is designed to help unify IT, combining the products powered by LANDESK (endpoint/asset management), AppSense (user virtualization), Heat (service manager), RES (identity director), and Shavlik (patching). It was chance to network with Ivanti engineers, product experts and users from all over the world. Derly Buentello also had the opportunity to spend a moment with Ivanti CEO, Steve Daly, and Ivanti CMO, Steve Morton. His message invited them to grow the relationship with our Technology Leadership and be an even bigger part of the opportunities created by the district that is transforming education and providing world class quality K-12 systems.

4 Ivanti Interchange Sessions Posted by Derly Buentello, Technical Analyst Software Delivery: Best Practices and Technology Updates Beyond the basics of software delivery. Learned a few tweaks to make that will help you deliver software efficiently. Reviewed scheduler performance, agent state, maintenance windows, Package Builder, Setup Commander, and how to do it all cross-platform. Also learned how to deliver software through self-service portals or as staged rollout projects. Agent: Dive into Agent Technologies, Configurations and Best Practices Ivanti Endpoint Manager allows you to perform actions on the device once an agent is deployed. Learned agent configurations, settings, and best practices, with an emphasis on changes in the current version. Learned about the vast array of agent settings, RBA, and how to extend and customize through INI. Mac: Best Practices for Managing the Mac in the Enterprise Learned how to use Ivanti's new configuration profile editor to build device-based and user profiles to customize Macs. Learn how to bind Macs to the domain during provisioning or after MDM enrollment and the new FileVault2 key management. Also address dual management, customization, Mac packaging, the new Mac self-service portal, and patching techniques for the Mac. Provisioning: Support Faster Migrations, Break/Fix and Hardware Refreshes Learned how to use policy for migrations and moving between workstations. Discovery and how to use it as a variable for Window 10 deployments. Learned how you can use MDM to provision the Mac like an iphone. Walked us through a few scenarios where we can improve provisioning practices and start cranking out the devices at a much faster pace.

5 Ivanti Interchange Sessions Posted by Nancy Grella, Technical Analysts Nancy attended multiple sessions each day, here are a few of them UEML640 Best Practices for Using UEM Patch This session was very helpful as it covered what was not covered during the boot camp session. Included best practices for patching and showed new features that we have not used as yet. Ivanti MDM: Manage ios, macos, Android and Windows 10 via MDM This was an overview of the Ivanti Mobile Device Management Tool. We enrolled an Android device. We reviewed the policies and restrictions available currently. The trainer did not cover much for ios and macos.

6 Ivanti Interchange Keynote Speakers Posted by Nancy Grella, Technical Analysts The Keynote addresses every morning emphasized Ivanit s progress toward unified IT. A key point that was major for me was quoted from Steve Daly Customer Closeness builds Focus. I felt that this was reinforced regularly by every Ivanti Employee. The Keynote Speaker for the last day of Interchange was Pablos Holman. He is a famous hacker, inventory and technologist. He is focused on improving human life with technology. He did not just mean technology that was fun and the newest gadgets. His vision is to improve quality of life using technology providing energy using nuclear waste, creating coolers for vaccines that stayed at the correct temperature for months so that the vaccines did not go bad, 3D food printers.

Included were new features available with Software Distriibution: Deploying Faster to more Platforms This session provided best practices for deploying software to all devices.

9 Ivanti Interchange18 Posted by Anthony Melton Software Analyst IV Ivanti Interchange18 offered many sessions from Best Practices on Patch Management, Windows 10 Migration, Cyber Security, Package Building, and Xtractions Reporting. It was an opportunity for Ivanti attendees to register for these sessions to learn more about them and how other customers use Ivanti and other tools for their needs. In this session by Kevin J. Smith, Anthony Melton attended Kevin explains how as IT professionals we will be part of a remarkable transformation of IT over the next decade. This will change virtually all of what we do. In this session attendees explored what changes to expect, what we can do now to be ready, and how IT will undergo these changes while at the same time remaining true to the fundamentals of IT that are timeless. These are some of the main words that Kevin used to describing how Technology will change. Many users need access to their data. But that can open the door to data loss and malware. Malicious or accidental, these incidents can be a nightmare, but you can get ahead of insider threats with Ivanti Device Control. In this session we learned how we could help prevent data theft by allowing only authorized devices to copy data, no matter how those devices get plugged in, and by enforcing encryption policies and tracking copied data reducing an attack surface exponentially.

Presenters included seasoned CIOs, analysts, practitioners and solution providers all focused on helping you get the most out of new and existing IT infrastructure. Derek Hulitzky, VP of Content development and Strategy for IDG events opened up the with his presentation called IT Roadmap: Overview and Opening Remarks Nancy standing next to Grant equipment Derek Hulitzky, looked at following trends to watch: 1. Trend 1- Internet of things 2. Trend 2- Hybrid and Multicloud 3.Trend 3- Software defined Networking Derek Hulitzky

14 Real-time, Know-it-all, Agile enterprise Larry Barrios listened to Ken Piddington, CIO & Executive Advisor, MRE Consulting, Ltd. Ken said we living in an era where companies have to move quickly to not only compete, but avoid being disrupted. The world s most expansive data protection regulation -- the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) -- takes effect on May 25, 2018, and organizations of any size must be prepared to respond. Larry Barrios learned that nearly all organizations will be impacted by GDPR, so this presentation shared how critical we understand the risk exposure and have a compliance roadmap fit for purpose.
