Designed control panels to comply with customer specifications and reviewed customer automation designs. 4 Kelly Services- Maintenance Supervisor, for General Motors. As the Lansing final assembly plant, second shift, maintenance manager I was responsible for supervising approximately skilled trades; which included electricians, millwrights, pipefitters and machine repair man. Managed preventative maintenance program by assignment of personnel tasks and confirming compliance. Utilized Maximo PM software to generate reports and to log all maintenance activities. Helped diagnose problems with equipment related to PLC, Robots and other automated assembly equipment. Worked extensively with union personnel on a daily basis to resolve contractual issues. Helped resolve mechanical problems utilizing extensive machine tool background. Took numerous GM courses including GM supervisor test and hazardous material classes. Industrial Automation- Senior Controls Engineer. Designed and programmed various types of robot and control systems. Used Allen Bradley PLC s, Nematron control systems and various types of user interfaces for assembly equipment. Installed sunroof assembly line for Inalfa roof systems and debugged and reprogrammed the entire control system. As the F.T.S. controls supervisor I had a wide range of responsibilities within various disciplines at Ingersoll-Rand. Directly supported the proposal group on new quotations and areas of specification variance, compliance and clarification. Supervised 15 engineers and co-ops in the design of million dollars worth of automation annually. Supported sales group by presenting new concepts and proposals to customers. Developed a standardization program that resulted in a direct labor reduction of 20%, which equated to approximately 1 million dollars annually. Worked as liaison engineer for service department for 6 years supporting field changes and requirements. Extensive background of starting up automated assembly equipment all over the world to include seat, engine, transmission, axle, and body drop systems.
