Siemens PLM Connection Americas Business Process Connection: ; Transforming the User Experience MONDAY MAY 8 Room #500 Ballroom Join us for this FULL DAY ; Transforming the User Experience Series! *Add ; Transforming the User Experience Series - Parts 1-6 to your personal agenda. Technology is advancing more rapidly than ever and transforming the way we live and work. The proliferation of Virtual / Augmented Reality, advanced visualization and other disruptive technologies like IOT and Cloud are not only enhancing our leisure time, but also transforming the way we work and the products we design and manufacture. This session discusses these and other technology trends in the context of imperatives, implications and opportunities for manufacturing companies as they transform into s. In addition, Siemens will present a vision for the future of the Software Suite. Each speaker will provide a unique perspective and vision for the future regarding the impact of improvements in technology utilization and process automation followed by a panel discussion. Speakers include representatives from Orbital ATK, Amway, MTD, Lightworks and Deloitte discussing the possibilities for manufacturing companies and representatives from Siemens PLM with a vision for how these technologies will advance the Software Suite. Please join us for a look into the future. Augmented / Virtual Reality in the 9:00-9:45 am Series - Part 1 9:45-10:00 am BREAK Mohsen Rezayat Principal Key Expert Raymond Kok enior Director, Architecture and Innovation Siemens PLM and its technology partners are conducting advanced research into the application of Augmented and Virtual Reality technology to PLM and MOM. Research includes major platforms for hardware and content in AR/VR: Microsoft (Hololens), HTC (Vive) and Samsung (VR gear) to name a few. See how native JT models (the ISO standard for 3D data) can be viewed in an unlimited number of virtual environments. See how a JT Hololens viewer enables JT model viewing, manipulation, assembly/disassembly, see-through and search using hand gestures and voice commands. Includes a panel discussion with Siemens Technologists.

Microsoft Hololens in Product Design Jeffery Legan Engineering Business Process Analyst MTD Products Inc 10:00-10:45 am Series - Part 2 MTD acquired a Microsoft Hololens as a potential design tool. We were very surprised that the developer kit was very robust. The first use case was in the design of a UTV. We discovered that the key decision makers could make the decisions quicker by seeing the full model as a hologram at scale and walk around and see inside. The results were the avoidence of 2 physical builds of the product. We then created a small animation that we presented at a large dealer convention. The results have been overwhelmingly positive and want the team to do more. Automating VR & Photoreal Imagery from Teamcenter David Hutchinson Chief Technology and Operating Officer Lightwork Design Ltd Learn how manufacturers are both automating and in-housing their digital Photorealistic and VR/AR visualization pipelines out of Teamcenter through JT. This is leading to improved efficiency and cost reduction and crucially, enabling control over digital assets that allows them to be repurposed across the business. High quality photorealistic visualization, be it photographic quality imagery through to AR and VR experiences, is being used and expected from design review, internal and external marketing, documentation, training and sales experiences. Harnessing the power of Teamcenter tools and integrating back key processes into the PLM data is the first step towards automation. At the end of the presentation, you will have a clear idea about state of the art visualization technologies, how visual appearance can be shared between those technologies and the next steps you need to be thinking about to start moving your business towards automation of visual processes. We will illustrate how our pipeline approach can connect together a range of partner technologies such as NVIDIA Iray and Epic Unreal Engine to generate automated visual workflows directly from the PLM. Lightwork Design licenses NVIDIA Iray through its Iray+ technology and also provides bespoke visualization software and services.

Virtual Reality in Product Design 10:00-10:45 am Series - Part 2 Cont. 10:45-11:00 am BREAK 11:00-11:45 am Series - Part 3 Jim Maul Staff Engineer Orbital ATK 11:45-1:15 pm LUNCH 1:15-2:00 pm Series - Part 4 2:00-2:15 pm BREAK Orbital ATK will discuss implementation of Virtual Reality (VR) technologies which integrate PLM systems and data with industry leading software in its products. Orbital ATK is developing a VR system based around the HTC VIVE that will allow users to visualize, walk through and interact with their designs in a full scale environment. They will also discuss their research into multiple user interaction in the same VR environment from different locations as well as analysis results data integration into VR. Augmented / Virtual Reality in the Monica Schnitger President Schnitger Corp Discuss the role of Virtual/Augmented Reality and Advanced Visualization with Siemens PLM technologists, customers and partners. Session moderated by Industry Analyst Monica Schnitger. Enabling Tomorrow s Alastair Orchard VP Project Raymond Kok Senior Director, Architecture and Innovation The next generation Siemens Software Suite (DESS) must create, optimize and manage increasingly complex product/production digital twins. The DESS of the future will provide an increasingly interactive user experience that leverages Virtual/Augmented Reality, New User Interaction Models and multi-disciplinary data and analytics for all portions of the end to end product and production lifecycle. Includes an interactive discussion with Siemens Visionaries moderated by Industry Analyst Monica Schnitger.

Navigating PLM: Implementing an Integrated Process Todd Slater Manager - Supply Chain COE-Design Amway Corporation 2:15-3:00 pm Series - Part 5 Lessons learned implementing Siemens Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solution and transforming how an Enterprise creates, collaborates, approves and consumes Product Content. How we are transforming from a tribal knowledge based, disconnected, and document centric product content solution into an integrated, single source of truth. Primary focus will be sharing how we established a simple visual to connect Business to Solution Requirements, facilitate User Acceptance and Systems Validation Testing, and drive User Adoption. Transforming to a Jeff Pohl Sr. Manager Deloitte Consulting LLP As companies move from exploring digital to being digital, they are profoundly changing the nature of their business the customers they serve and how they serve them, the products they offer, the processes to develop them and the services to support them, and the very way that they define and measure success. PLM solutions play a critical role in such transformations by providing the platform for digital enablement of the end-toend product value chain. However, in order for companies to realize the enhanced value of PLM, they need to transform their traditional PLM roadmap with capabilities that drive true digital transformation across the product lifecycle. This presentation will focus on how smart digital product models can significantly improve the velocity, cost and quality of product development, sourcing, manufacturing and customer service. In addition, we will discuss the role of PLM and the digital product models in the connected products eco-system in order to enhance customer experience.

2:15-3:00 pm Series - Part 5 Cont. Smart Connected Missiles and Rockets Jim Maul Staff Engineer Orbital ATK Orbital ATK will discuss development of intelligent digital twin and IOT technologies which integrate PLM systems and data with industry leading software in its products. Orbital ATK is developing smart fielded assets that predictively determine service life and battlefield readiness based on conditional awareness. Missiles and rockets used for defense purposes may transported around the globe or they may remain in storage years without being ever being deployed. These assets must be ready for deployment at a moment s notice with complete confidence and reliability. Digital twin and IOT technologies promise to change the way mission readiness is monitored, assessed, and verified. Smart connected assets will provide situational awareness for the warfighter. The speaker will discuss goals, implementation challenges and resulting business benefits of developing products with conditional awareness. 3:00-3:15 pm BREAK 3:15-4:00 pm Series - Part 6 Enabling Tomorrow s Monica Schnitger President Schnitger Corp Discuss the PLM/MOM tools of the future with Siemens PLM technologists and customers. Session moderated by Industry Analyst Monica Schnitger.
