6 1. Management Summary This Leadership Compass focuses on complete IAM/IAG (Identity Access Management/Governance) suites that ideally cover all major areas of IAM/IAG as a fully integrated offering. There are related Leadership Compass documents for Identity Provisioning 1 (published 2012, update in 2014) Access Governance 2 (published 2013, update in 2014) and Access Management and Federation 3 (published 2013), Privilege Management 4 (published 2014) and Enterprise Single Sign-On 5 (published 2014) Cloud IAM/IAG 6 and Cloud User and Access Management 7. Another Leadership Compass covering integrated solutions covering both Identity Provisioning and Access Governance capabilities will follow soon. Notably, the Leadership Compass on has a broader focus, as defined below. We are also aware of the fact that several vendors cover key capabilities of IAM/IAG but lack support for some of these categories. We strongly recommended participating anyway. The same holds true for vendors that have not fully integrated all capabilities as yet. IAM/IAG is a very broad category of products. When looking at IAM/IAG suites, we are asking particularly for capabilities in the following eight areas: Identity Provisioning Access Governance and Intelligence, User Activitiy Monitoring Access Management and Federation Enterprise Single Sign-On Privilege Management Dynamic Authorization Management Versatile, risk- and context-based Authentication and Authorization Platforms (this does not include strong authentication technologies, but the platforms supporting various types of authentication) Cloud Identity Services The focus of this document are suites, a term that is different from package or bundle in the sense that, from our understanding, a suite is defined as an integrated solution. Thus, when comparing offerings, we have put emphasis on integration at various levels, such as Platform support and deployment models Administrative user interfaces End user interfaces Data models Page 6 of 46
