5 Track 2: Sage 300 CRE: Basics 2-1 Sage 300 CRE: Basic Concepts Presenter: Natalie Allen Who Should Attend: All users new to Sage 300 CRE Learning Objectives/Description: This session is intended to help new and potential users get comfortable navigating the Sage 300 CRE product and using its various interfaces. During the session, the structure of the Sage 300 CRE databases will be explained, as well as how data is entered into the system using data entry screens and then accessed through inquiries and reports, all through Sage Desktop. The wide array of modules available and their functions will be reviewed, including the core Accounting modules, the Contracts and Billing modules used for revenue purposes, the Property Management module, and specialty modules such as Purchasing, Inventory, Service Management, Project Management, and Estimating. Additional applications, such as Sage MyAssistant and Office Connector will also be reviewed. 2-2 Sage 300 CRE: Desktop Version 18 Presenter: Kathy Lewis Who Should Attend: All Sage 300 CRE Users Learning Objectives/Description: This session will allow users who are new to the Sage system and experienced users new to version 18.1 to practice navigating around Sage 300 CRE Desktop, Sage 300 CRE modules, access data entry screens, viewing inquiries, running reports and setting up favorites. In this session, we will discuss the main differences from previous versions, how to migrate your configuration to version 18.1 and explore the power of the desktop. 2-3 Sage 300 CRE: Basic General Ledger Presenter: Natalie Allen Who Should Attend: Users new to the General Ledger (GL) module Controllers, managers and accountants Learning Objectives/Description: This session will give users an understanding of the flow of data through the General Ledger module, learn how to set up accounts, how to record, edit and delete entries. Review and print reports from the General Ledger. 6 Who Should Attend: Users new to the Job Cost (JC) module - Accountants, Accounting Personnel, Controllers, Project Administrators who access JC, and Company Trainers Learning Objectives/Description: This session will cover job cost tasks, including: JC Settings Setup Jobs Setup Standard & Job Cost Codes/Categories including Extras Enter Direct Costs 2-5 Sage 300 CRE: Reconciliation Lab 1 of 2 Presenter: Natalie Allen Who Should Attend: Accounting personnel tasked with reconciling subledgers to the general ledger Prerequisites and/or Advance Preparation: Attendees should be familiar with basic accounting concepts of reconciliation Learning Objectives/Description: After completing this 2-part hands-on lab session, you will be able to perform basic reconciliation tasks for Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Cash Management, Job Cost, Payroll, and General Ledger. You will be able to identify common reasons for out of balance conditions and execute the necessary steps to solve the problem. Best practices for avoiding out of balance issues will also be discussed. Desktop Reconciliation Tool will be demonstrated. 2-6 Reconciliation Lab 2 of 2 (See 2-5) 2-7 Sage 300 CRE: Basic Accounts Payable Presenter: Natalie Allen Who Should Attend: Users new to the Accounts Payable (AP) module; Accounting personnel who are responsible for maintaining vendors, entering invoices and preparing payments, and preparing Form 1099s; Accounting Managers; Controllers. Learning Objectives/Description: This session will give you the fundamentals of the Accounts Payable (AP) module. After completing this class, you will know how to set up vendors and check forms, enter invoices, select invoices to pay, print checks, and record manual checks. We will demonstrate how simple customization to the invoice entry grid can make data entry easier and more meaningful. You will understand the application interfaces, period-end methods, and common reports. 2-8 Sage 300 CRE: Cash Management Presenter: Natalie Allen Who Should Attend: All users new to Sage 300 CRE Learning Objectives/Description: This class will cover module setup through reconciliation, including: Use Setup Assistant to set up the first bank account 6

7 Use Setup Bank Account to create a second bank account Importing cleared checks Reconciling a bank account Use of Edit Register to enter misc entries How to enter transfers between bank accounts using Bank Transfers How to record EFT and ACH transactions How to setup credit card accounts Track 3: Sage 300 CRE: Project Management 3-1 Sage 300 CRE: Project Management Documents 1 of 2 Presenter: Whitney Mendes Who Should Attend: Users new to the Project Management (PJ) module - project managers, project coordinators, project accountants and project assistants or experienced Sage 300 CRE accounting users who need to understand Project Management workflow Prerequisites and/or Advance Preparation: Attendees of this session should be familiar with construction project management techniques, basic Sage 300 CRE structure and workflow. Learning Objectives/Description: This class will focus on the step-by-step tasks involved in entering & sending Transmittals, Submittals and managing Requests for Information (RFIs), including: How to create & send a Transmittal Create, send, open and log an RFI Create Submittal Log Enter and route Submittals 3-2 Sage 300 CRE: Project Management Documents 2 of 2 (see 3-1) 3-3 Sage 300 CRE: Project Estimates, Commitments, Compliance Lab 1 of 2 Presenter: Whitney Mendes /Intermediate Who Should Attend: All Users of the Project Management (PJ) module - project managers, project coordinators, project accountants and project assistants or experienced Sage 300 CRE accounting users who need to understand Project Management workflow. Prerequisites and/or Advance Preparation: Attendees of this session should be familiar with construction project management techniques, basic Sage 300 CRE structure and workflow Learning Objectives/Description: This 2-part hands on lab session will cover the detailed steps for entering an Estimate, then proceed with the detailed steps for entering a Commitment (Purchase Order or Subcontract). We will highlight the options available during commitment entry that may affect compliance (lien waivers, insurance, etc). We will then discuss options for issuing a Subcontract document or Purchase Order document for signature. We will also cover the subcontractor compliance as it relates to PJ with a review of subcontractor compliance setup in the AP module to identify the options that are available, as well as setup using Custom Descriptions to create customized miscellaneous compliance items for your operations team. We will focus on the use of the subcontractor compliance grid in the PJ module to track job-specific and 7

8 vendor-specific compliance items (signed documents, insurance certificates, lien waivers, safety plans, close-out packages, etc). 3-4 Sage 300 CRE: Project Estimates, Commitments, Compliance Lab 2 of 2 (See 3-3) 3-5 Sage 300 CRE: PJ Change Management Lecture 1 of 2 Presenter: Whitney Mendes / Intermediate Who Should Attend: All Users of the Project Management (PJ) module - project managers, project coordinators, project accountants and project assistants or experienced Sage 300 CRE accounting users who need to understand Project Management workflow. Prerequisites and/or Advance Preparation: Attendees of this session should be familiar with construction project management techniques, basic Sage 300 CRE structure and workflow Learning Objectives/Description: This 2-part session will cover all aspects of the PJ Change Management system for tracking Change Requests, Owner Change Orders and Commitment Change Orders. After completing this class, you will be able to create internal (non-billable) and billable change requests, generate vendor requests for quote, track vendor pricing, produce change request forms, send pending estimate changes to Job Cost, use logs (reports), and edit estimates and markups. You will be able to create an owner change order, choose the associated change requests, approve the change order, update the job s schedule of values, edit an approved change order, and use change order reports. You will also be able to issue commitment change orders, use the Change Request to pull in vendor pricing and create linkages for reporting, and control when the change modifies existing line items in a commitment, or adds new commitment line items. 3-6 Sage 300 CRE: PJ Change Management Lab 2 of 2 (See 3-5) 3-7 Sage 300 CRE: Project Life Cycle Lecture 1 of 2 Presenter: Whitney Mendes Who Should Attend: Experienced Sage 300 CRE Users Learning Objectives/Description: In the fast-paced world of construction technology it is easy to get overwhelmed by the solutions/methods available to collect, store, manage and interpret data during the project lifecycle. In this two-part session, we will look at solutions for managing a project through its entire lifecycle from prospect to bid and from construction to close-out to warranty. This is a roundtable type format, so bring your solutions to share. 3-8 Project Life Cycle 2 of 2 (See 3-7) Track 4: Sage 300 CRE: Advanced 4-1 Sage 300 CRE: Importing to Accounts Payable, Job Cost, General Ledger & Cash Management Presenter: Kathy Lewis Version: 18 Who Should Attend: Controllers, accounting managers and accountants using the core accounting modules. 8

9 Prerequisites and/or Advance Preparation: Attendees should be able to understand and recognize the basic workflow for the core accounting modules. Additionally, attendees should have a basic knowledge of Microsoft(r) Excel. Exposure to Microsoft(r) Access would be helpful. Learning Objectives/Description: After completing this class, you will be able to create various import transactional files into Sage 300 CRE. The class will focus on importing estimates, commitments, and direct cost for Job Cost; importing format for invoices into Accounts Payable; importing budgets and transactions format for General Ledger; and importing cleared checks format for Cash Management. We will examine the structure of the import templates and learn how to create the import files from Microsoft(r) Excel spreadsheets. 4-2 Sage 300 CRE: Office Connector Overview Lab Presenter: Don Bannister Who Should Attend: Anyone interested in learning about Office Connector Learning Objectives/Description: In this session, we will explore the basic features of Office Connector. Focus will be on using Office Connector Query and Write with the Core Sage 300 CRE Modules (A/P, J/C, G/L and A/R). If time permits, we will look at other features of Office Connector or have a Round-table to look at specific concerns and share Tips & Tricks 4-3 Sage 300 CRE: Advanced Job Cost Lab Presenter: Kathy Lewis Who Should Attend: Users familiar with the Job Cost (JC) module - Accountants, accounting personnel, controllers Prerequisites and/or Advance Preparation: Session 4-1 for importing topic Learning Objectives/Description: This hand-on lab session will give you the fundamentals of some of the lesser used features in the job cost module. After completing this class, you will know how to setup and use Extras, understand how Misc. Worksheets function and how-to setup and use your own Misc. Worksheet entry screens, as well as how to import transactions covered in session Sage 300 CRE: Advanced Accounts Payable Lab Presenter: Kathy Lewis Version: 18 Who Should Attend: Users familiar with the Accounts Payable (AP) module - Accountants, accounts payable managers, accounts payable personnel, controllers Prerequisites and/or Advance Preparation: Session 4-1 for importing topic Learning Objectives/Description: After completing this session you will understand the fundamentals of the newer features in the accounts payable module. These include: how to import invoices covered in session 4-1, how to manage credit cards, and how to process EFT (electronic Fund Transfer) payments. 4-5 Sage 300 CRE: Advanced General Ledger Lab Presenter: Kathy Lewis 9

10 Who Should Attend: Controllers, accounting managers and accountants using the core accounting modules. Prerequisites and/or Advance Preparation: Session 4-1 for import topic Learning Objectives/Description: After completing this session, you will be able to setup and create budgets, print budget reports, and add budget columns to your financial statements. You will also be able to import budgets into GL. Import of transactional entries (month end adjustments for GL) will be reviewed as well and then we will compare import of entries vs using the reoccurring entries workflow. Expense allocation workflow will also be covered. Finally, we will look at how you can create a financial statement for common financial rations such as working capital and debt to equity. 4-6 Sage 300 CRE: Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable Error Correction Presenter: Kathy Lewis Who Should Attend: Users familiar with the Accounts Receivable (AR) module and/or the Accounts Payable (AP) - Accounting personnel who are responsible for maintaining customers, analyzing accounts receivable aging, entering cash receipts, and entering invoices, Accounting personnel who are responsible for maintaining vendors, analyzing accounts payable aging, entering invoices, cutting checks, Accounting Managers, Controllers. Prerequisites and/or Advance Preparation: Attendees should be familiar with the basic functions of AR and/or AP. Learning Objectives/Description: This session will give you the fundamentals of error correction in the accounts receivable and accounts payable modules. We will review common errors than review the detailed steps necessary to make corrections so the reports will be accurate. 4-7 Sage 300 CRE: Subcontractor Compliance Accounts Payable & Job Cost Setup Presenter: Kathy Lewis Knowledge Level: Beginner Who Should Attend: Users familiar with the Accounts Payable (AP) and Project Management (PJ) and Job Cost (JC) modules - Accountants, accounts payable managers, accounts payable personnel, controllers Learning Objectives/Description: This session will review how to use the Subcontractor Compliance features by setting defaults for each job then managing the Compliance Grid; setting up certified reports on both the job and commitment; and in Accounts Payable vendor setup how to use the insurance and compliance buttons and compliance settings and warnings in AP settings. Track 5: Sage Estimating (Sage 300 CRE) all taught with Core & Core Plus 5-1 Sage 300 CRE: Estimating Fundamentals Workshop Lab 1 of 2 Presenter: Jon Banse Who Should Attend: Estimators Prerequisites and/or Advance Preparation: Before beginning this session, you own or you are looking into purchasing Sage Estimating (Sage 300 CRE). Learning Objectives/Description: This class will focus on the basics and fundamentals of the Sage Estimating program. After completing this class, you will be able to create an estimate file and generate an estimate using all types of takeoff. You will also be able to set-up and use WBS codes for reporting and set-up a Totals Page with add-ons. 5-2 Sage 300 CRE: Estimating Fundamentals Workshop Lab 2 of 2 (See 5-1) 5-3 Sage 300 CRE: Estimating Reports and Estimating Management Console Presenter: Jon Banse /Intermediate Who Should Attend: Estimators Prerequisites and/or Advance Preparation: A working knowledge of Sage Estimating Learning Objectives/Description: Discover what reports are available in Sage Estimating, how to modify them and print out the information how you need to see it. We will cover all of the report settings, what they mean and how it effects how the information is displayed. Lean how to create the layouts and then save them so the reports can be used as a company standard. Learn what the Management Console is and how you can use it to manage your Estimate files and more. When moving from Pervasive the change can be difficult for uses, so we will cover how you can make the move easier discussing some of best practices and what is the best layout and folder structure for your company. We will also cover tools and security, learn how to add security within the new SQL Management Console for each level from Administer to Jr. Estimator. 5-4 Sage 300 CRE: Electronic Takeoff etakeoff and Bridge Presenter: Gary Simpson to Advanced Who Should Attend: Estimators: Anyone who is interested in using etakeoff with Bridge (an electronicplans takeoff software tightly integrated with Sage Estimating) for an electronic plans takeoff Prerequisites and/or Advance Preparation: Attendees should understand the basic workflow of quantity takeoff, estimate creation, item and assembly input 11

12 Learning Objectives/Description: Attendees will come away from this session with an understanding of how etakeoff and Bridge, with Sage Estimating will increase accuracy, reduce errors and speed up the takeoff process from electronic plans (dwg, pdf, etc). 5-5 Sage 300 CRE: Estimating Tips & Tricks Presenter: Gary Simpson to Advanced Who should attend: Estimators and others wishing to expand their knowledge of the use of the estimating software Prerequisites and/or Advance Preparation: A working knowledge of Sage Estimating Learning Objectives/Description: A perennial conference favorite, in this interactive session we will explore the functionality of the estimating software with emphasis on real life tips and shortcuts. You will leave this session with new techniques to improve your estimating productivity and increase your estimating effectiveness. 5-6 Sage 300 CRE: Estimating Database Management (Database Structure, Items, Formulas and Assemblies) Workshop Lecture 1 of 3 Presenter: Gary Simpson to Advanced Who should attend: Intermediate and Advanced users who manage their Estimating database or who want to standardize their database Prerequisites and/or Advance Preparation: Basic understanding of the Estimating Database Learning Objectives/Description: In this three-part interactive lecture/lab series we will discuss the creation and organization of a new database and the modification of existing databases. We will explore the impact of database decisions on the estimating process and see how modifications to the database can enhance the speed and accuracy of the estimates and improve estimate reporting. We will learn how to use Database Editor (create and modify Items and phases) an application bundled with estimating, to quickly create new group phases, phases and items. You ll see how to make targeted and global modifications to edit descriptions, correct units, update prices, or change any database field quickly. You ll see how to filter the items under review and to use layouts to view only the data you want to modify. We will also explore creating assemblies and the formulas that are needed to make them function correctly. 5-7 Sage 300 CRE: Estimating Database Management (Database Structure, Items, Formulas and Assemblies) Workshop Lab 2 of 3 (See 5-6) 5-8 Sage 300 CRE: Estimating Database Management (Database Structure, Items, Formulas and Assemblies) Workshop Lab 3 of 3 (See 5-6) Track 6: Reporting Crystal Reports for Sage 300 CRE 6-1 Sage 300 CRE: Beginning Crystal Reports Lab 1 of 4 Presenter: David Hardy Sage 300 and Crystal Reports 2013 R2 12

13 Who Should Attend: Those in operations, accounting, real estate personnel and IT who are ready to learn Crystal Reports Prerequisites: Basic understanding of Sage 300 CRE Learning Objectives: You re ready to immerse yourself in designing Crystal reports with the Sage 300 CRE database. Spend the day learning how to write reports for Sage 300. The skills you will learn will help you build reports for all Sage 300 Accounting/Project Management/Real Estate modules once you return to your office. We ll set up ODBC, and then begin creating new reports. We ll cover the fundamentals of formatting and will insert text and graphics for that professional look. We ll condition, sort, and insert totals. You ll learn about linking multiple tables so you can bring in data from many different tables and modules. You ll have plenty of hands-on activities. No prior experience with Crystal Reports is needed. However, we recommend that you be familiar with the Sage 300 CRE database and have Crystal installed and ready to use once you return to your office. 6-2 Sage 300 CRE: Beginning Crystal Reports Lab 2 of 4 (See 6-1) 6-3 Sage 300 CRE: Beginning Crystal Reports Lab 3 of 4 (See 6-1) 6-4 Sage 300 CRE: Beginning Crystal Reports Lab 4 of 4 (See 6-1) 6-5 Sage 300 CRE: Intermediate Crystal Reports Lab 1 of 2 Presenter: David Hardy Knowledge Level: Beginner with a bit of experience Sage 300 and Crystal Reports 2013 R2 Who Should Attend: Those in operations, accounting, real estate personnel and IT who are ready to go beyond the basics with Crystal Reports Prerequisites and/or Advance Preparation: At least a beginner s knowledge of Crystal Reports application and Sage 300 CRE data structure Learning Objectives/Description: You ve taken the beginners class, you ve played with Crystal Reports and begun to build simple reports at the office. You re now ready to go beyond the basics and learn how to write formulas, build subreports, use parameters in more complex ways and learn formatting tricks to take your skills beyond what you thought was possible. If that sounds like you, you re going to enjoy this class. You ll have plenty of hands-on activities and by the end of the class you ll have the confidence to tackle those harder report projects your boss is waiting to give you! 6-6 Sage 300 CRE: Intermediate Crystal Reports Lab 2 of 2 (See 6-5) 6-7 Sage 300 CRE: SQL izing Crystal Reports Lab 1 of 2 Presenter: David Hardy Knowledge Level: Advanced Sage 300 and Crystal Reports 2013 R2 Who Should Attend: Both operations, accounting and real estate personnel who have moderate to advanced Crystal Reports experience and want to take on more challenging tasks Prerequisites and/or Advance Preparation: Working knowledge of Crystal Reports application and Sage 300 CRE data structure Learning Objectives/Description: This session will show you how to create and use your own SQL commands inside Crystal Reports to increase reporting efficiency. Ever built a Crystal Report that runs too slow, or perhaps built a report 90% just to find you can t get it that last 10%? Have you ever thought there has to be a better way than using a half-dozen subreports? If so this class is for you. In this class, you ll learn how to build reports that don t need subreports, that run faster and that accomplish things you thought were impossible with Crystal Reports. We will learn basic SQL functions and how to build SQL Queries that can be run inside Crystal to make your reports more efficient. If you own Anterra Data 13
