9 Healthcare Resource management and Invoicing calculation Overview SBSC was engaged to re-design and update the Medefis healthcare vendor management system, including revamping their website design. The legacy system did not allow the client to scale the system as new companies signed on and lacked speed, ease of use and easy navigation. SBSC Involvement Conducted an extensive system analysis on the legacy system Documented all existing functionalities Conducted an in-depth industry analysis Conducted interviews with some key system users to gauge gaps and major pain points Designed a best-in-class product strategy Based on analysis, determined the best approach was to develop a new application instead of updating the existing system Achievements Increased ease of navigation Improved the ability to scale system as clients increase Produced useful reporting Revamped the website design to be more engaging and align better with the Medefis product strategy Challenges The legacy system was a hodge podge of code with no documentation on functionalities The overall code design lacked uniformity Due to the complexity of the system and the way it was originally designed, it required us to completely re-write it. The system had evolved to meet the needs of certain high volume clients but had to be re-written in a way that was flexible enough for all clients

10 Retail Global Program Management Overview SBSC was engaged to assist a Project Management Office (PMO) leadership team in defining and documenting a best-in-class framework to manage end-to-end integration projects. This included creating reporting standards to enable the PMO to make fact-based decisions and consistently measure performance across project teams. Challenges SBSC Involvement Conducted project reviews to baseline project performance and identify related gaps Conducted PM interviews to gauge gaps in skill levels Instituted peer reviews for project performance to increase accountability Provided training sessions on maturity models to set expectations Provided overall project management training and coaching Created standard guidelines to bring consistency to the list of data items that had to be keyed into the project tracking data systems Created an overall set of system desk instructions to assist with consistency Developed an executive dashboard to track, monitor and communicate progress Achievements Reached the Level 3 CMMI goal after only 4 months of implementing the solutions Enabled the PMO to have more insight into the successes and opportunities within their project portfolio The new insight enabled leadership to make more informed business decisions, such as: Spending in the right areas and working on the right projects; killing poor projects Better aligning projects to strategy Managing gaps in the portfolio Allocating resources optimally Eliminating project redundancies Providing an overall ability to better assess project performance, and ultimately portfolio performance The existing project management processes lacked a unified and consistent framework for analyzing the status and effectiveness of integration projects More targeted and coordinated communications, as well as, performance tracking was needed to enable the leadership team to quickly analyze project progress- i.e. status of activities, deliverables and costs
