IBM Tivoli Monitoring for Security and Edge Services is designed to interoperate with Tivoli s other application management products to enable unique and comprehensive views into an enterprise s end-to-end extended environment. IBM Tivoli Monitoring for Security and Edge Services is designed to provide two key benefits to customers. First, it enables a company to manage the extended enterprise by monitoring and managing internal and external transactions to help ensure quick, reliable, and secure data transmission. Secondly, it helps ensure user roles and security policy are extended and validated throughout an organization. IBM Tivoli Monitoring for Security and Edge Services also manages the complexity of modern computing environments. It simplifies the secure management of users, applications and devices. It strengthens the overall security associated with desktop users, dial-in users, and external e-commerce users. Finally, it extends the interoperability of systems and users across the entire enterprise. IBM Tivoli Monitoring for Web Infrastructure V5.1.0 IBM Tivoli Monitoring for Web Infrastructure improves the availability and optimal performance of critical resources such as Web servers and Web application servers. These resources, primary elements of e-business infrastructure, can provide the foundation for mission-critical applications requiring extremely high availability. If this infrastructure is unavailable or is performing poorly, end-user productivity decreases or stops. With customer-facing applications, the result can be lost revenue and a poor impression of the company associated with the Web site. The IBM Tivoli Web Infrastructure product is a powerful tool designed to help systems administrators ensure performance and availability of this critical infrastructure. This product captures detailed status and performance metrics from the most commonly used Web infrastructure products. It then transforms this data into useful information for Systems Administrators by applying intelligence and delivering it via an intuitive user interface. The resulting performance and availability information is available via both near real-time and historical reporting. This can allow administrators to view the status of their entire Web infrastructure and quickly identify and cure problems as they arise. Additionally, it serves as input for company-wide service level agreements and capacity planning. This release of IBM Tivoli Monitoring for Web Infrastructure will contain management for the leading Web servers and Web application servers: IBM WebSphere Application Server IBM HTTP Server (for the Web Apache Server) iplanet Web server Microsoft IIS BEA WebLogic Application Server All of these products will be managed similarly, as they co-exist in a variety of configurations.
