3 While a fully outsourced Facilities Management model can provide significant benefits to your school, it can also be a dauntingly large step to make. A bundled service option can provide you with some of the benefits of FM, while not taking the step of outsourcing every element of your essential (non-teaching) services. It leverages economies of scale and alignment of like services to provide efficiencies, cost reduction, better time management and the opportunity to utilise the expertise of an outsource provider. Employee compensation costs, office space expenses and other costs associated with providing a work space setup are eliminated and free up resources for other purposes. Buying power can be achieved along with savings driven through efficiency gains. Focus on education not distractions Outsourcing allows schools to focus on their expertise and teaching. When organisations go outside their expertise, they get into business functions and processes that they may not be as knowledgeable about and could potentially take away from their main focus. Improved quality Improved quality can be achieved by using vendors with more expertise and more specialised processes. Customer satisfaction The advantage of having a vendor contract is they are bound to certain levels of service and quality. Operational efficiency Outsourcing gives schools exposure to vendor specialised systems. Specialisation provides more efficiency that allows for a quicker turnaround time and higher levels of quality. Innovation Outsource companies have to continually innovate to stay at the forefront of their game. They need to be looking at the world stage for Global best practice in order to stay in business and provide un-paralleled value to their clients. This breaks down to product, methodology, equipment and critical thinking. Schools often don t have the time, funds or ability to research this area nor do they receive the benefits of benchmarking against like schools to make improvements. 3

5 SOLAR SOLUTIONS The ability to install, operate and maintain Solar PV on all schools tailored to each school s energy profile up to 100 kw in size has never been so accessible. The Energy and Education initiative incorporates the latest solar energy technology, allowing systems to be battery-ready and easily expandable. The initiative has the potential to incorporate additional energy efficiency technologies, such as LED lighting. This solution includes real-time energy monitoring and optional water monitoring. Real-time data is integrated into engaging educational resources that are aligned with the Australian curriculum. These resources are designed to inspire future generations and create behavioural change regarding energy usage, renewable energy and climate change. To acheive this result, the Energy and Education initiative: has no upfront cost (capital expenditure); provides operational savings from year one; incorporates output guarantees; incorporates all maintenance headaches and costs for the term of the agreement. 5
