Release Notes Marketron Traffic Version Mediascape Traffic & Revenue Builder Enhancements Enhanced Revenue Reporting Delivery Based Invoicing CPM Based Selling Inventory Definition Improvements General Usability Improvements Enhanced Revenue Reporting Inventory Categories and Types were added to the schedule line in Sales Order enabling you to define critical information about your revenue at a more granular level. This provides you with additional flexibility in managing your revenue at a individual schedule line level and provides you with reporting at a schedule line level. In your current version of Marketron Traffic, you have one field revenue type which may be something you are using to track two different things: The origination of your revenue and the type of revenue/inventory. Consider the following two questions: 1. Where is your revenue originating from? Is this a Local Agency buy? A National buy? A Local Direct buy? This represents your Revenue Type. 2. What kind of inventory has your client purchased? Is this a particular kind of sporting event? Music Festival? Local Promotion? Regular Airtime? This represents your Inventory Category/ Inventory Type. Currently, if you have one client who would like one campaign and they would like to purchase airtime in several Lakers games as well as airtime in the LA Athletics game, You either enter two orders (with two different revenue types) or use a separate field such as line remark as a workaround. Example NOTE For clients converting from DeltaFlex this provides the Type of Sale functionality. Today you may have a revenue type list that looks like this: Local Agency Regular Spot Local Agency Music Festivals Local Agency Basketball Local Agency Baseball With our new Inventory Category and Inventory Type functionality, you can have a single revenue type for Local Agency. Also, you can have inventory categories and types which reflect what you want to track, such as Regular spots, Music Festivals, Basketball and Baseball Marketron Broadcast Solutions help@marketron.com Updated: 9/20/2011 Page 1

Categories and their Types, are built in the Revenue Builder Setup screen just as Alternative Revenue Categories and Types are built, and can be applied on a schedule line basis. In Revenue Builder Setup Add a New Inventory Category Associate an Inventory Type to that Inventory Category Make the Proper Station Associations 2011 Marketron Broadcast Solutions help@marketron.com Updated: 9/20/2011 Page 2

Once built, you can view these Categories and Types from Sales Order. A new icon on the Schedule Line ribbon enables you to apply new Inventory Types to each line of an order. Sample Sales Order Inventory Type Icon The Inventory Type appears just under the date columns in Sales Orders and Contracts. Sample Schedule Line with Inventory Type Applied The reporting of the Inventory Types and Categories can be found in all Contracted and Scheduled reports in addition to the Billing Summary and AR Transaction report. Also, the Inventory Type list is available under the Name reports in Traffic Reports to help keep track of these inventory types Marketron Broadcast Solutions help@marketron.com Updated: 9/20/2011 Page 3

Delivery Based Invoicing New functionality enables you to specify the manner in which your client s digital items are ordered and invoiced. Now, you can offer your clients the ability to pay for their digital advertising based on the actual number of impressions, clicks, actions, or number of items/spots delivered. Additionally, you still have the option to order/sell by a total projected amount of delivery. This new functionality gives you the flexibility to sell and invoice your digital offering in many different ways. Invoice by Total Delivered Impressions, Clicks or Actions Impressions - You know from your website log reports how many impressions your site receives on average. You now have the opportunity to use this information to provide your clients with a way to quantify the success of their campaign. Additionally, once you begin improving the success of your website and establish constant (high) impressions you can now begin charging higher prices for the numbers of impressions your clients receive. Clicks - Often your clients may be hesitant about the return on investment from advertising on your website. You now have a way to offer your clients the ability to pay based on received per click basis. This is a very attractive offering for a client as it increases transparency and presents the opportunity as risk-free. Actions - Advertisers and Agencies are often willing to pay very high dollars in order to achieve a particular action/result from their target consumers. If an advertiser wants to see the conversions of how many users are clicking on their ads and in turn buying a product from their landing page, they are usually willing to pay a higher price from that track-ability and conversion to action. Bill-By Attribute You can now select the following options with the new Bill By attribute which exists on the Alternative Revenue schedule line. This option defines how each alternative revenue line will bill. The available Bill By values are as follows: Sell and Invoice by Ordered Projected Invoice is calculated based on the original schedule line amounts. (This is the functionality provided in the existing version.) Sell and Invoice by Actual Delivery Delivered Invoice is calculated based on total number of items/spots delivered during the billing period. Impressions Invoice is calculated based on total number of impressions received during the billing period. Clicks Invoice is calculated based on total number of clicks received for the billing period. Actions Invoice is calculated based on total number of actions received for the billing period. Establish Minimum or Maximum Values for Invoicing Billing Total Caps selections (available on the Billing tab) allow the enforcement of a minimum and/or maximum dollar amount that can be billed during an alternative revenue line s date range when billing by actuals with a pricing structure of CPM or Per Item. When enforcing a maximum, choose to allow the ad to continue being served or end-date the line when the maximum is reached. Set no minimum to allow the total billing amount for the line to fall below the line total. Set no maximum to allow the total billing amount for the line to exceed the line total Marketron Broadcast Solutions help@marketron.com Updated: 9/20/2011 Page 4

Sample Billing Total Caps Section As performance data accrues (either from a third-party or manually), billing instructions are recalculated based on the updated performance data. The minimum and/or maximum are re-evaluated and the billing amounts are adjusted as necessary. If a maximum is enforced and you have selected the option to end-date the line when the maximum is reached, the line automatically end-dates upon reaching the maximum. If the maximum is reached upon receiving performance data from a third-party vendor, the system automatically generates the revision. If the maximum is reached via manual performance data updates, the system will prompt for confirmation of the creation of the revision. NOTE Revisions created via the End date line when maximum is reached will require re-approval, re-contracting and rescheduling. If lines have been exported to a third-party vendor, the revisions must be exported in order to take effect. If a minimum has been applied and is enforced on the last billing period, the last invoice will include the alert text as follows for the alternative revenue line: Minimum not reached. Minimum dollars applied. If a maximum has been applied and is enforced on a billing period, the invoice which includes that period and all following invoices will include the alert text as follows for the alternative revenue line: Maximum reached. Maximum dollars applied. NOTE If a Bill By of Actuals (i.e. Delivered, Impressions, Clicks, Actions) is chosen for an Alternative Revenue line for an account that has been set with a restricted credit amount, a maximum equaling the line total can be set for the line to ensure that the billing value does not exceed the line total. The line totals are summed and calculated with other orders belonging to the same account to determine if the order amount is within the range of the remaining credit available for the account. Performance Data Available via Third-Party or Manual Entry If you have exported alternative revenue lines to a third-party vendor (such as Ando Media), performance data will be gathered nightly and billing instructions for those lines automatically updates using the updated performance data. Performance data can also be retrieved on demand via the Import button in View Export. This process automatically updates the billing instructions for the line using the updated performance data. You can manually enter or update performance data via the Performance button on the alternative revenue line. Alternative Revenue Production Report The following new fields were added for selection and inclusion on the Alternative Revenue Production Report: Bill By, Projected Quantity, Projected Amount, Min Set, Minimum, Max Set, Maximum and End Line on Max. Setup Editor Default Options The Bill By and Delivered fields are now available for selection and inclusion on single station and multistation invoices within Setup Editor Marketron Broadcast Solutions help@marketron.com Updated: 9/20/2011 Page 5

Sell by CPM The most commonly used pricing structure in internet advertising today is CPM (Cost per thousand). With Marketron Traffic version 6.5.1, you may now use Revenue Builder to sell and invoice alternative revenue using a CPM pricing structure. By choosing the CPM pricing structure on the alternative revenue line, the Line Total is calculated by dividing the rate by 1,000 and multiplying by the quantity. Sample Alternative Revenue Line If an alternative revenue line has a CPM pricing structure selected, right-clicking the line allows you to select the Show CPM Calculator option and choose it to launch the CPM Calculator. The CPM Calculator is a tool that is used to assist you in calculating the quantity, rate or total. The calculated quantity and rate can be applied back to the line. The tool enables you to work with all sides of the CPM equation to determine which quantity and rate values best suite your needs. Inventory Creation Enhanced Flexibility You can now create alternative revenue inventory in Revenue Builder more efficiently with Marketron Traffic version Enter your desired quantity on each day of the week selected or enter a total quantity and distribute it as evenly as possible across the days of the week selected using the Daily or Weekly distribution types. Use the Daily distribution type to distribute entered quantities for selected days of the week over a selected date range. Use the Weekly distribution type to distribute entered quantities for selected days of the week over a selected range of weeks. Use the Monthly distribution type to evenly distribute a total quantity the selected days over each broadcast month selected in a range of months. The total quantity is distributed as evenly as possible over each selected month; remainders are distributed starting with the first day of the broadcast month until the total quantity is reached.
