Professional Solutions for Business GmbH Telecommunication meets RFID

Company profile PS4B GmbH is a medium-sized IT company, which is specialised in Telecommunication RFID We support our customers in the following stages of IT projects and more. Consultation in business processes Software projects Customer care & billing System integration Software quality assurance

Telecommunication Consultation in business processes Analysis and specification Concept building as per ITIL Design and implementation Planning of system environments Software projects Design (OOA, OOD) Batch- and online development Development of web pages GUI programming Client-Server communication Software auditing

Telecommunication Customer care & billing systems (CCB) Assisting selecting processes of a CCB Requirement analysis, specification within cable network, mobil and inter-carrier area Customizing, system integration Data migration Certification (GOB, TKV) Process design of billing operations as per Telecom Operations Map (TOM) Running and support the CCB

Quality assurance What is software quality? Product quality Process quality What is software quality assurance? Analysis, testing and verification of software Definition of quality objectives

Quality assurance Why QS? Faulty software design Incomplete specifications Emergence of unexpected faults by the designer/deverloper Errorless Software? A great Dream!

Quality assurance Phases of testing in V-model System specification Test cases Acceptance test Design of components Test cases Integration test Modul design / code Test cases Unit test

Quality assurance Quality assurance by PS4B Test management Test planning Test case investigation Test preparing Performance and capacity planning Test execution (automatic / manuell) Test documentation Reporting und appraisal Supporting the project management Software test by ASQF Certified tester

Billing In telecommunication PS4B covers all the processes from billing, getting the CDRs up to processing and issuing the invoices (Billing the usage, that the customers have utilized). Classification of the processes on the basis of Telecom Operations Map (TOM) into Network management processes Operation processes Customer care processes

Billing Telecom Operations Map (Auszug) Network data Management Network management processes Rating Operation processes Invoicing Customer care processes

Billing Network data management Collecting Collection of CDRs from the individual Switches Switch 11 Switch 12 network 1 Collecting of the CDRs Mediation Transferring to Intake control the rating for further - Rough content faults processing Correct format Corrrect switch Formatting of the CDRs in a readable records Merging with extra information Transferring the CDRs Switch n1 Collecting of the CDRs Switch n2 network n

Billing Rating From Mediation Rating Checking the data on Duplicate Other Rating of the raw CDR Transferring to the Invoicing for further processing Pricing of the accumulated usage with the current tariff/product of the customer Transferring of the CDRs

Billing Invoicing Vom Rating Invoicing the rated CDR Test run Invoicing Billing run Calculation of discounts/price reduction/vouchers and others Quality assurance of the invoices Transferring of the billing data from the billing system to the next processing system such as accounting system like SAP Transferring of the CDRs SAP CRM

Billing Billing with PS4B Service and maintenance of the production process Billing management Planning and coordination of billing runs Documentation Reporting und evaluation Back the management

meets Our aim is to gain competitive advantage. Adapting the concepts of mass data processing from telecommunication into the world of RFID No performance problems for smaller ERP- or merchandise management systems

RFID PS4B is the best connection between your RFID-Hardware, the ERP-System and the outside world. RFID middleware and system integration Analysis and design of business processes Requirement analysis, specification of the optimum system environment Consultation in the selection of RFID components System integration Quality assurance Support and maintenance

What is RFID? Radio Frequency Identification Technology for a sight- and contactless data transferring via radio waves Required hardware Transponder (RFID-Chip) Reader and/or Writer IT-System

What is RFID Transponder Reader IT-System Air interface local interface

System overview Business Integration Managed Services Application-software ERP, WMS, SCM, CRM Middleware EAI, BPM EPCIS EDI RFID-Middleware RFID-Business Process Logic RFID-Device Management RFID-Data Management Tags HW-Devices

Barcode vs. RFID Data view Barcode Individual Reading (one record per pallet) No filtering needed RFID Bulk reading (up to 1000 records per pallet Filtering is needed to administer the data masses Individual processing Processing is carried out in one system Mass-data processing Processing can be carried out in different systems (distribution of data is necessary)

RFID middleware CEMMP-Concept C ollecting: Gathering RFID data from each reader E rror-/duplicate-check: Verfiying the RFID data for accuracy M ediation: Targeted emitting of data M erging: Enclosing additional information P rocessing: Transferring to the following processes Configuration and administration of the devices

Barcode vs. RFID Data view Product level Worker Fork-lift Pallet level Carton level

Scenario Warehouse Efficient controlling with middleware in warehouse -1- Requirements: Every point of storage has a Transponder Fork-lift has 2-3 readers (one in front to read the pallets and each on the right and left to read the current position) Fork-lift has a display to show information Middleware loads current storage information daily (which Transponder at which warehouse position)

Scenario Warehouse Efficient controlling with middleware in warehouse -2- Adaption: Fork-lift reads the pallet tags and sends the data to the middleware Middleware requires future storage-position from the warehouse software Middleware sends the position to the fork-lift display When passing the storage-positions the transponder information will be read by the reader of the fork-lift and sent to the middleware Middleware links these data with daily loaded information Middleware sends the current position to the display and the next direction (straight on/right/left) At the correct position the middleware sends the correct level to the display as well (1,2,3) When storing the fork-lift reader can read the current storage point and send to the middleware for verification

Scenario incoming merchandise Efficient controlling with middleware -1- Requirements: Delivery truck can identify itself or delivery can be identified by truck (Transponder oder manually) Information will be linked in the delivery note (Truck<->Delivery)

Scenario incoming merchandise Efficient controlling with middleware -2- Adaption: Truck enters the premises and will be identified. Middleware reads the required delivery information from the ERP and cached. On receipt of goods every Transponder will be read by the middleware and will be tallied with delivery data Wrong deliveries will be sorted out immediately Info every pallet unloaded will be signalled manually or automatically Middleware returns only events to the ERP - Either delivery complete and every related data can be changed to delivered - Or Error, Item XY not identified resp. irrelevant Transponder YZ was read
