11 Competitive Advantage DataTap The new source for retail data: The current method of data extraction is a time consuming and labour intensive process. Until the DataTap, only new cloud based POS systems could link POS terminals and aggregate information. Each different POS system has its own proprietary format and usually requires modifications to the POS system in order to access data via the cloud. DataTaps are inserted into a data flow between two components of a POS system. These taps do not require modification of the POS and are invisible to the operation of the POS system. DataTaps do not interrupt/interfere with data flow, they sit outside of the flow and tap the information as it passes Similar to the 407 ETR scanning license plates for information as cars drive rather than Toll Booths that interrupt the flow and potentially cause bottlenecks There is zero risk of downtime to a merchants POS terminal as a result of installing a DataTap 11
