3 Overview Verifone MX 915 and MX 925 payment devices are available for use with KWI 6.x Point of Sale (POS) registers. The primary benefits of these devices are as follows: EMV chip card functionality is available - The benefits of EMV technology are: o Significantly improved security Chip-enabled credit and debit cards make sales transactions more secure. This is because the chip generates unique data that is exclusive to that specific transaction (and therefore useless to anyone attempting to steal the data). Note: The ability to swipe cards is still available. All credit and debit transactions swiped on the MX devices are completely hardware encrypted, which decreases the Payment Card Industry (PCI) footprint. This encryption ensures that all data is protected from being compromised. o Eliminate risk of fraud-based chargebacks Due to the improved security, there is significantly less risk of customers being victimized by fraud. Also, since you can process chip cards, the risk is assumed by the bank/acquirer. o Adoption of worldwide standard The EMV payment standard is used throughout most of the rest of the world. For details about the new process flow when processing debit/credit card payments, see New Payment Flow for Debit or Credit Card Payments. Appearance Both devices have stylish designs and include vibrant color screens. Apple Pay The Apple Pay contactless payment method is available. For details, see Use Apple Pay to Complete a Transaction. Note: The following features aren t currently supported but will be available in a future release: Offline transactions and post-void transactions (you must do a return rather than a post-void). Important: IPC mobile devices are NOT supported. 2/17/2017 Verifone MX 915/925 Payment Devices with KWI 6.x POS Registers: What s New? 3

5 Network and Power Requirements The MX 915/925 payment devices have additional network and power requirements than the previous integrated payment terminals used by KWI. Network Requirements KWI requires all MX 915/925 payment devices to be connected to the same network switch as the POS workstation. This ensures proper communication between the register and its payment terminal. In addition, each payment device must have its own static IP address. You ll need to provide KWI with this information when you Place Your Order. This is a good opportunity to review the most current KWI whitepaper for general network requirements. This whitepaper provides the baseline security policy for traffic entering and leaving the store. Power Requirements The MX 915/925 payment devices are powered separate from the POS workstation. One open and accessible power outlet is required for each device being installed. Place Your Order with KWI Place your order with KWI by filling out the following forms and ing them to install@kwi.com. KWIk Form (General Use) Used to provide general information for all install requests and POS hardware orders. KWIk IP Form Used to provide IP address information for your POS hardware. 2/17/2017 Verifone MX 915/925 Payment Devices with KWI 6.x POS Registers: What s New? 5
