Assurance is defined by the American Society of Quality (ASQ) as The act of giving confidence The state of being certain The act of making certain Failure prevention system QA defines and plans activities that ensure product or project success QA Team is integrated with the overall project team 2013 CSG Government Solutions 4

QA activities begin with project planning Activities include Participation in project planning Risk and Issues identification Standards development Review and recommendation for improving project processes and procedures Deliverable reviews and recommendations Technical assistance in testing activities Focused on prevention and effectiveness 2013 CSG Government Solutions 5

Control is defined by ASQ as Evaluation to indicate needed corrective responses Checks for defects Ensures requirements are met Failure detection system QC checks that the plan and processes implemented are followed QC Team is generally integrated with the overall project team 2013 CSG Government Solutions 6
