1 No. LIT Issued November 2017 Metasys Enterprise Management (MEM) Johnson Controls Metasys Enterprise Management (MEM) is a comprehensive analytical cloud-based optimization tool that pro-actively analyzes building energy and equipment data to identify issues, faults and opportunities for improved performance and operational savings. Using parent-child meter/ equipment space relationships, MEM provides for enterprise building performance comparisons and lifecycle management. Powerful analytics root out energy and equipment related problems 24x7. These analytics run in the background and find energy and equipment anomalies. Actionable information is provided to the customer through the Fault Detection and Diagnostic (FDD) feature. MEM works with Metasys Building Automation and 3rd Party Building Automation Systems (BAS) that support BACnet IP communications to provide a holistic view and insights at every space with respect to equipment operation starting from portfolio down to sub-spaces within the building. Coupled with the MEM Data Collector, it has the flexibility to integrate directly with meters using BACnet IP and is easy to configure. The application is easy to use with a built-in intuitive help feature making it easy for users to use the software. Features Energy Management The base software is comprised of the MEM Energy Management software which collects, analyzes, and displays information for all configured physical meters/virtual meters in a facilities operation. Automatically collects, analyzes, and displays information for all configured physical meters and virtual meters located in a facilities operation. Information for energy demand and consumption can be aggregated and displayed using baselines with various out of the box dashboards. Custom dashboards can also be configured to a user s needs. Easy to understand summary reports can be generated from the dashboard data utilizing the built-in automated reporting tool. Proactively predicts future energy usage by employing pattern analysis allowing users to quickly and seamlessly understand the return on efficiency investments, Used alone, or coupled with Equipment Management add-on, it provides a system that allows easy enterprise performance comparisons and life cycle management providing detailed visibility into site operations. The Weather Normalization feature normalizes the consumption information by utilizing degree days, cooling degree days or heating degree days, to account for large swings in weather that might impact a buildings energy usage. Energy Fault Detection and Diagnostics provide for energy monitoring of high unoccupied loads and non-working day consumption, fault detection of meters, and performance monitoring of exceeding baselines or low power factor. Equipment Management (includes Asset Maintenance) The Equipment Management software collects, analyzes, and displays information of all configured equipment points. Combined with the Energy Management software, it provides a complete package for enterprise management. The Equipment Management add-on of MEM provides the connectivity to monitor, analyze, troubleshoot and maintain configured equipment points located in a customer s facility. Rule driven fault detection, notification and diagnostics are displayed in a time series format with total duration of existence allowing equipment managers to easily pinpoint and fix equipment problems. All data is displayed in easy to read dashboards and provides for developing custom equipment KPIs. Asset Maintenance Provides specific dashboards to display information on work orders, service reports and maintenance KPIs. Users can use the information to generate and track Work Orders, check Service teams by tracking specific KPIs, allocate resources to closing tickets, and measure performance of maintenance Asset Related Work Orders etc. MEM revolutionary analytics use main rule, diagnostic rules, work orders and service reports to assist in scheduling and performing predictive maintenance. Data Collector The Metasys Enterprise Management Data Collector is an industrial PC that provides connectivity to meters and building automation systems to extract data for the MEM application. This gateway uses Internet of Things (IOT) capabilities to collect and push data to the cloud. Refer to Metasys Enterprise Management Data Collector Product Bulletin (LIT ) for further information. Applications The MEM system is comprised of hardware and software components working closely together to provide performance monitoring over a site s meters, HVAC and other building systems. Technical Specifications MEM uses industry-standard system security and encoding protocols to protect against unauthorized access to data and control systems. Refer to Metasys Enterprise Management (MEM) Product Bulletin (LIT ) for details. MEM Cloud Hosted Solution MEM Cloud Hosted Solution Metasys via ADX/ADS is used to support existing Metasys applications installed in customer s facilities. MEM Cloud Hosted Solution Metasys via BACnet IP is used to support existing BACnet IP communications. MEM Cloud Hosted Solution 3rd Party BAS via BACnet IP is used to support existing Building Automation Systems via BACnet IP communications. MEM Cloud Hosted Solution BACnet IP Meters is used to support existing BACnet IP / Meters communications. Software Licensing MEM software is provided and activated through cloud based licenses subscribed by the customer (through JCI Channels), in 1 or 3 year renewable options (see Table 2 MEM Ordering Information). The licenses are all inclusive with software, technical support, maintenance, and revision releases. Revision releases include new enhancements and are indicated by a new release number and what s new information.the license subscription fees do not cover any labor or other incidental costs. Newly placed 1-year subscriptions are active for 1 year from the date the license is activated. Newly placed 3-year subscriptions are active for 3 years from the date the license is activated. Licenses are not automatically renewed. Users must renew the license at the end of the 1

2 agreement. Thirty (30) days before a license (1yr or 3 yr) is set to expire, users are notified of the expiration at each login up to the day of expiration. The notification will say Please contact your Building Controls Representative to renew license immediately. If the user does not renew within the allotted time frame, a grace period of 30 days goes into effect; data will continue to be collected but the user will not be able to see any Dashboards, Reports, Work Order management, etc. After the 30th day, data collection will cease. Upon further login, the user will see a screen notification that the subscription has expired and to contact their Building Controls Representative. License Tiers The base (Energy Management software) licenses can be ordered in tiers: Basic, Deluxe, Premier, Enterprise15, Enterprise30, Enterprise60, Enterprise120, Enterprise240, Enterprise500, or Enterprise(Q), that support customer requirements according to the number of meters or equipment points. See Table 1 for tiers and supporting criteria. S/he would order Energy Management Basic software. Example 2: Customer has a facility with two buildings, 24 meters but 1100 equipment point requirements. S/he would order Energy Management Deluxe and Equipment Management Deluxe software. Example 3: Customer has a facility with three buildings, 75 meters but 2600 equipment point requirements. S/he would order Energy Management Premier and Equipment Management software. Note: Although there are only 75 meters, the number of equipment points (2600) requires ordering the higher tier (Premier). Migration Software MEM migration software allows the user to migrate from a previously licensed tier upward to another tier (example: Basic to Deluxe or Basic to Premium) when facility parameters require it, even if the previous subscription has not reached the full term of the agreement. All software migrations require re-licensing after the migration. Example: A customer has a facility with 20 meters and orders a Basic license (0-25 meters). After the first 6 months, he wants to add another building with 30 meters bringing his total to 50 meters which now requires a Deluxe license ( meters). Migration software allows the customer to easily apply the remaining 6 months of the Basic license towards a Deluxe license. Note: At the renewal period of a license subscription, users may opt to change their renewal from their current license to a lower tier license if applicable. 2
