9 Overview IBM Insight for mysap ERP is a FREE service offering that provides customers with a report detailing the workload and utilization of their production SAP system. Insight is a set of three Microsoft Windows programs: Insight Collector - captures R/3 workload and OS utilization statistics. Insight Reducer - gathers information, verifies and compresses data set. Insight Reporter - generates the Insight report (run by Techline specialist). The Insight report can be used by Techline in the mysap sizing process for existing and potential IBM customers running IBM or non-ibm hardware.

15 Size of the Insight mysap ERP tool? Latest version of the tool is 14 MB in Size

16 Workflow (Continued) Customer installs the tool on a PC running Windows that is LAN attached to the SAP system. Tool is run for 1 to 3 days and data is collected. Tool is stopped and the data goes through a reduction and compression process. A single ZIPPED file is created. Customer sends the data for processing to IBM for processing.

17 How big is the collected data file? Following variables determine the size of the ZIPPED Insight data file: Number of App Servers Number of days data is collected for (1-3 days) Number of Users on the SAP R/3 system Activity on the SAP R/3 system ANSWER: Any where from 3 MB to few GB

19 IBM Insight for SAP R/3 Support Structure/Process INSIGHT Tool (2) Collect R/3 dataset using COLLECTOR and compress it with REDUCER (1) Download tool CUSTOMER (3) Send data to your local IBM / BP contact (6) INSIGHT report, sizing recommendation, proposal, etc. IBM / BP Contact ASEAN TECHLINE (5) Full INSIGHT report generated using REPORTER will then be sent to requester together with recommendation and sizing advise.
