7 The Background PeopleSoft & EPM For any Quick Service Restaurants (QSR) Royalty and Franchise Fees are some of the main sources of Revenue According to FASB 45, the Franchise accounting treatment varies for Fixed Franchise fees vs Franchisee Fee based on Sales When a Retailer sells a Franchise it earns a Royalty - as a % of Sales Fixed Franchise fees, a fixed amount collected while signing the Franchise agreement For Leases, Base Rent is a Fixed Rent and Percent Rent is a variable rent as a % of Sales Reduced manual effort, as well as shifting resource time and focus towards higher value planning and analysis activities Efficiency in the close and consolidation process 7

11 Key Solution Tenants PS Lease Admin module is the primary place for all Payable and Receivable leases related for Real Estate properties along with base rent, percent rent, miscellaneous rent, operating expenses and lease terms information Essbase is integrates with PS Lease Admin for Sales Reporting & Percent Rent Calculation Project Costing for Royalty & Advertisement calculation and (Rate based) invoice generation. PS to generate invoices as and when the sales data is received. PS Contracts and Project Costing modules drive the Invoice interfacing to Billing PeopleSoft Property (FA & Lease Admin) and Customer Master is being used to maintain the Property, Stores and Franchise data along with the corporate owner billing and sales reporting frequency 11

12 Key Solution Tenants PeopleSoft Customer contracts are used to maintain the Financial aspect of the Franchisee agreement. The customer contract primarily includes Royalty & Advertisement rates, Training & Development Fees, accounting, billing and revenue terms Master Data Management PeopleSoft Lease Master data, Property (Asset) master, Reporting Frequency & Royalty Rates are fed into DRM periodically, which is consumed by Essbase for sales reporting, estimated invoice amount calculation. Organized and governance metadata through out all EPM applications (HFM/HTP/all Plan types) ensure audit controls and consistency. 12
