Awarded vendor will pick these up from two (2) school locations in Bayonne. All equipment will be sold to the highest bidder, with equipment as is and with a minimum or floor bid of $250,000. 2 Bayonne Board of Education 667 Avenue A Bayonne, NJ Apple Computers Reverse Bid Technology Equipment Technical Specifications Intent of Bid The intent of this bid is to enter into a contract with a qualified contractor to pick up, transport, perform data security services and offer value for all specified technology equipment of the school district as outlined below. Technology Equipment The equipment here within specified will be sold as is with a no return policy. Inspection and Walkthrough All bidders are invited to inspect all equipment to be sold. Any vendor interested in inspecting the units may contact the district s Technology Director via to request such an inspection. 3 Contracts Initial Items to be Recycled Immediate Individual Contracts The Bayonne BOE at present, has a number of technology equipment they wish to sell for value. A list of items has been included in this bid specification package. It is the intention of the Board of Education, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:18A 45, to award the contract to the contractor who submits the highest bid price for each of the contracts. Contracts Initial Items to be Recycled Immediate Individual Contracts MacBook Pro 13 inch (2012) Intel core i5 2.5Ghz and 500GB storage. Awarded vendor will pick these up from two (2) locations. Bidders are to submit individual prices for the contract. All bidders are to offer their bid prices in the range of A D quality: A being highest quality and D being unuseable. The bidder will also be required to use any parts from D quality MacBooks to B C MacBooks to increase their value. It is the intention of the Board to award the contract to the bidder who provides the highest total bid for quality range and use parts from D MacBooks to increase value from B C rated MacBooks for all items listed in. Bretford Mobility Cart for Mac Awarded vendor will pick these up from two (2) school locations. Bidders are to submit individual prices for each listed Bretford cart in and then provide a total for all items on Contact A. It is the intention of the board to award the contract to the bidder who provides the highest total bid for all items listed in. Once again, it is the intention of the board of education, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:18A 45, to award the contract to the contractor submits the highest bid price for the equipment based upon the bidder using any parts from D quality MacBooks to B C MacBooks to increase their value. It is the intention of the Board to award the contract to the bidder who provides the highest total bid for quality range and use parts from D MacBooks to increase value from B C rated MacBooks for all items listed in. Bidders are to enter all bid prices on the Bid Proposal Form (See attached). Bid Floor The total minimum final price paid to the District, after pick up of equipment and final review of equipment (within 45 days of bid date) of the winning bidder can not be lower than $250,000. Winning Bid Deposit All bidders are to offer their bid prices in the range of A D quality: A being highest quality and D being unuseable on MacBooks and Total Price on the Mac Carts. Upon pick up of equipment, 10% of the proposed Bid must be submitted. Payment is to be made to Bayonne Board of Education in a form of a bank check, certified check or cashier s check. No other form of payment will be accepted.

4 Failure of the successful contractor to either pay the bid price for the equipment or remove the personal property within the prescribed time, shall lead to forfeiture of the deposit. Payment to the Board The successful contractor shall enter into a written contract with the board and upon execution of the contract. The contractor shall remit a certified check or a cashier s check made payable to the Bayonne Board of Education following full inspection of all equipment for the remaining amount minus the 10% payment of the contract awarded. Payment must be made within 45 days after equipment has been removed for inspection. Package and Removal of Equipment The contractor, upon request of the school district and within forty eight (48) hours of the request, shall respond in writing to schedule a pickup of equipment to be purchased. The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, supplies, pallets to complete the inventory, packaging and removal of all identified recycling items. The contractor shall provide all vehicles with adequate capacity and storage to removal all items. The removal of all items shall be completed at the designated school district site within the district s normal school hours. All inventory, packaging and removal will be coordinated by the Office of Technology. The contractor shall schedule pickups within (10) business days of the initial request. The contractor shall upon request of the school district, collect, centralize, categorize, and take inventory of each piece of equipment that is to be purchased. The inventory list of the equipment shall include as a minimum the following: Total number of Macbook Pro Laptops Total number of Bretford carts Quantity of each item (A D) Data Security/Discovery Services/Sanitation of Media The contractor shall perform all data security, discovery services, and sanitation of media services and provide a written guarantee the data and information stored on the equipment and/or any hard drive has been erased, removed, protected, secured and destroyed in accordance with the highest security standards available. Every functional hard drive is wiped to the Department of Defense standards, and every non functional hard drive is physically

5 destroyed and recycled. The destruction of all storage media shall be done by environmentally friendly and secure means and in compliance with all federal, state and local laws and regulations. Certificate of Data Destruction The contractor shall provide to the school district a Certificate of Data Destruction, acknowledging the receipt of the materials from the district and that the contractor has properly erased, removed, protected, secured and destroyed all data and information on the equipment. The certificate will further acknowledge that all materials received from the school district was repaired, refurbished, redistributed or recycled in all accordance with all federal state and local laws and regulations. Recycling of Equipment The contractor, upon completion of the data security process as previously specified, will attempt to re purpose any or all equipment as opposed to destroying, which may involve the re sale or donation of the equipment. Any equipment not re purposed, shall be deemed scrap and broken down to the base components for recycling purposes. The contractor shall ensure that recyclables are loaded onto authorized vehicles and the recyclables are transported to a facility in the United States.
