1 SharePoint Administrator Location: [Asia & Pacific] [Malaysia] Town/City: Petaling Jaya Category: Information Technology PURPOSE OF POSITION: SharePoint Administrators are responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and supporting SharePoint systems in a global environment. They work on multiple projects as a team lead and provide technical leadership SharePoint systems. They perform troubleshooting for complex SharePoint systems. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Project Planning: Leads or consults short- and long-term project planning efforts with team members, clients and other IT groups. Develops cost/time estimates. Documents discussion and agreements. Technical Requirements: Works with architects and systems engineers to understand technical requirements. Design/Develop: Integrates solutions with other applications and platforms outside the framework. Page 1/6

2 Maintenance: Performs routine maintenance tasks for Microsoft SharePoint systems such as backups, patch management and hot fixes. Develops strategies to manage the frequency of appropriate support package/patch application. Monitors health of SharePoint systems and provides appropriate recommendations, when required. Administration: Coordinates and validates activities. Manages SharePoint site quotas and file size limits. Perform copying and moving of SharePoint sites. Managing services and scheduled jobs within the SharePoint environment. Creating new SharePoint sites and lists, installing web parts. Contribute in backups & restore process for business critical data. Set-up and configure SharePoint service applications such as Application Management, Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Access, Visio, Search, Distributed Cache, Central Administration, Office Web Apps and etc. Responsible for SharePoint site migration projects. Deploys custom developed and third-party SharePoint solution packages. Provide L1, L2 & L3 technical supports. Manage configuration, storage and permission of SharePoint system. Performance Monitoring: Page 2/6

3 Supervises the monitoring procedures and evaluates problems identified by team members. Ensures that capacity workload modeling and availability analysis is performed. Monitors system-operating capacity in terms of disk space, tape storage, memory and CPU utilization. Monitoring SharePoint disk space usage for site collections. Manage SharePoint content DBs growth by providing monthly report to management and increase capacity where required. Optimize SharePoint content DBs in SQL Servers. Reviews performance and control reports. Recommends settings changes to the operating system to improve performance and reliability. Develops, maintains, recommends, documents and supports tools and backend utilities to provide capacity planning management. Testing: Leads or provides technical direction for the planning, designing, and execution of testing efforts. Ensures that tests evaluate all possible impacts on the current infrastructure or application. Continuous Improvements: Recommends performance metrics. Analyzes and reports on operational metrics to understand performance and to ensure success in process improvements. System Job Scheduling: Translates business and technical requirements to develop automation specifications that span more than one business area. Page 3/6

4 Updates job schedule based on current priorities and special handling requests. Ensures reliability and availability of platforms. Schedules maintenance and repairs. Computer Operations: Coordinates production job processing. Ensures that maintenance procedures are executed. Updates job schedule based on current priorities and special handling requests. Monitors systems on a 24x7 schedule. Performs maintenance procedures. Validates input and output data for completeness and accuracy. Analyzes job processes and recommends improvements. Reviews historical data for trend analysis. Production Support: Coordinates problem resolution among team members. Documents, monitors, reports, and manages the resolution of systemic issues. Works with Architects and Systems Engineers when issues appear systemic or cannot be resolved. Engage relevant vendor in critical escalation. Recommends procedures and controls for problem resolution or creates temporary solutions until permanent solutions can be implemented. Documents problem status and resolution.

5 Develops checklists and scripts for resolving routine problems. Security: Works with IT Security, where needed, in investigations and/or audits of systems. Analyzes audit trails to detect systematic security violations. Reports security issues when appropriate. Ensures security requirements are adhered to. Business Continuity: Administers archival activities such as installing, upgrading, configuring, and scheduling and monitoring jobs. Verifies that system backups and restore run successfully. Policies, Procedures and Standards: Ensures compliance with policies, procedures and standards. Service Level Agreements (SLAs): Monitors production, outputs, and services to ensure that SLAs, and other quality metrics, are being met. Documentaion/User Guides: Writes, reviews and/or maintains technical documentation for product environments. Ensures documentation is developed and maintained. Page 5/6

Research/Evaluation: Evaluates future technologies and makes recommendations. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Bachelors degree or technical institute degree/certificate or equivalent work experience. Requires at least 5+ years administering Microsoft SharePoint systems in an enterprise environment. Requires at least 5+ years of experience designing, configuring, and deploying Microsoft SharePoint systems. Typically requires 5-7 years of relevant information technology work experience. Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally, as necessary. Relevant certification is required. Page 6/6
