1 REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST AFRICAN DEVELOPMENT BANK Avenue Joseph Anoma, 01 B.P. 1387, Abidjan, CÔTE d'ivoire Corporate IT Services Department (CHIS) Telephone: (+225) / (+225) Expressions of interest are being requested for: Two Junior Systems Administrators Brief description of the Assignment: The Bank intends to engage the services of two Systems Administrators. The Systems Administrators will assist the Systems Engineering team in daily operations and management of the servers, storage systems and business applications of the Bank. The assignments of the applicants include the provisioning, monitoring and updating of the servers and backup systems. Their role is also to participate in projects implementing business information systems and to provide support to users through the bank s Service Desk. Under the supervision of the Systems Engineering team leader, the Systems Administrators will assist with the following activities: Provisioning of virtual machines as and when necessary. Monitors and tunes appropriate systems to ensure optimum level of performance. Supports complex data recoverability through system backups and business data backups. Interacts with client management Service Desk to answer questions, problems and assist in requests regarding complex system issues. Oversees and applies appropriate support packages/patches to maintain systems reliability, availability and serviceability as well as compliance with internal policies. Work closely with developers during application deployment. BACKGROUND ANNEX 1: TERMS OF REFRENCE RECRUITMENT OF A JUNIOR CONSULTANT SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) is a regional multilateral development finance institution established in 1963 with a mandate to further the economic development and social progress of African countries, individually and collectively. The Bank has approximately over 2000 staff members, who have been recruited from a wide geographic area only limited by membership in the Bank. There are currently 80 different nationalities from Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas represented within the Bank making the institution multicultural in every sense of the word. The Bank has two official languages: English and French. It co-operates with a large network of international development partners. The Corporate Information Technology Services department (CHIS) is responsible for the provision of efficient, effective and modern IT infrastructure and application services to support optimize and transform Bank s business process. Under the leadership of the Bank s Information System s Director, CHIS department is mandated by the Bank to deliver the best possible IT services for Bank staff, and help achieve the results that will get the Bank closer to accomplishing its development goals. 2. OBJECTIVE The Bank intends to engage the services of a Systems Administrator. DELIVERABLES The following is the list of expected deliverables during and at the end of the assignment: Document all activities handled during the mission Develop and document any improvement applied in the Bank s server, storage and application environments. 5. PROFILE OF THE CONSULTANT At least Master/Engineering degree in Computer Science or equivalent area Between 2 to 4 years of experience as a Systems Administrator. Less than 32 years age. Experience with the management, security and optimization of Windows deployments including Windows 2008, 2012 and Experience with Windows Domain Services such as Active Directory, Group Policy and DNS. Experience with Microsoft management tools, such as SCCM, SCOM and WSUS. Experience in automation using programming/scripting languages (such as PowerShell, Unix Shell, Python, perl). Experience with server virtualization technologies such as Xen, VMware, and Hyper- V etc. Experience with Enterprise Backup Solutions such as Networker, NetBackup, TSM etc. analytical and problem-solving skills analytical, synthesis and documentation skills. Ability to work after office hours. Be able to evolve autonomously in a complex environment. ability to communicate verbally and in writing in French or English, with a working knowledge of the other language. knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, MS Visio and MS Project 6. DURATION The assignment period is expected for 06 months. The commencement date is expected for 04 th June, 2018.

6 7. LOCATION The work will be carried out at the Bank Headquarters in Abidjan, Cote D Ivoire. 8. REPORTING The consultant will report to the Systems Engineering Team Leader. 9. REMUNERATION The remuneration will be based on the Consultant experience and the Bank GUIDELINES ON INDIVIDUAL JUNIOR CONSULTANTS REMUNERATION.
