2 Objective SNP Chart of Accounts Conversion is designed to convert the chart of accounts of a client. GL accounts and cost elements can be restructured from existing chart of accounts as well as converted to another chart of account. The Transformation Cockpit is used to convert chart of accounts. Scope of Function SNP Chart of Accounts Conversion includes rules to convert chart of accounts from the SAP ERP environment. Besides operative chart of accounts, it is also possible to convert country-specific chart of accounts and group chart of accounts. In both cases you have to define this chart of accounts in the mapping for chart of accounts as well as upload a GL account and cost element mapping for this chart of accounts. Please note that SNP Chart of Accounts Conversion must only be used in combination with consultancy services by SNP. Components The product includes the following components: SNP Transformation Backbone installed on a separate SAP system that is not involved in the transformation process (e.g. a Solution Manager system) Project Cockpit and the Transformation Cockpit, both installed on the same system as the basis component Satellite components with analysis and export programs for the source system. Satellite components with import and deletion programs for the target system. Any components will be delivered in the SNP name space to avoid conflicts. SNP Cockpit All products that use SNP Transformation Backbone as platform also use SNP Cockpit as standard user interface. Use the SNP Cockpit to maintain all required systems, persons, and authorizations for the transformation project. Depending on the application, select different products that contain a standard project plan and rules for a transformation or a migration. Depending on the selected product, the SNP Cockpit displays different functions to execute the project. During a Client Merge technical rules for transformation are used whereas migration rules are used for Client Move or Upgrade. SNP

4 Process List Transformation Management If you want to transfer data from multiple systems into a mutual system, you need transformation rules. These rules define the transformation of data from the source system to the target system. Use the Object Designer to define business objects as tables and table connections. In the business rule area it is possible to create technical rules which contains selections and mappings. Defined values can be validated against customizing via the connection to a property. If necessary, add attachments for documentation purposes to the technical rules. The rule base is stored in an audit compliant way by the status management and change management. This way, it is possible to define conceptional rules for the conversion independent of the coding. Technical rules are divided into import- and export rules that are based on defined business rules. Transformation rules are used on table fields. The consistency of data is maintained by domain-based rule bases. It is possible to connect technical rules with business rules to provide for a better overview. The processing sequence and planning of a data migration can be pre-defined in the job templates. Based on these templates, create job runs and start and monitor the data migration. 04 SNP CHART OF ACCOUNTS CONVERSION

The project manager can adjust the project plan before and during performing the project via an integrated project plan interface. All activities will be recorded in the SNP Cockpit which enables you to retrace the project progresses. All transformation rules that are necessary for the project will be defined and implemented in the Transformation Cockpit. 05 SNP CHART OF ACCOUNTS CONVERSION

6 Overview of the Process List in the SNP Project Cockpit Mapping In order to perform the conversion of chart of accounts, you have to define a mapping from the old chart of accounts to the new one. After completing the GL account and cost element mapping, you can upload it to the SNP Cockpit. Test Migrations Single Test SNP Transformation Backbone supports the transfer and transformation of individual business objects in order test them during the development of technical transformation rules. This way, problems can be identified in an early state; e.g. missing customizing. Since transferred data can also be removed during single test phases, it is possible to develop transformation rules in an iterative way, without having to set up the target system after each test or to manually clean it up. During the single test phase it is crucial that the defined conversion rules are complete and correct. For that reason, this phase should take place in a client without application data but with as much completed target customizing as possible. Integration Test In order to get an idea of the level of consistency and speed of the transformation, two to three integration/mass tests are performed prior to the productive migration for each project. 06 SNP CHART OF ACCOUNTS CONVERSION

7 During these tests, the dataset you want to select will be exported completely from the source system and imported to a copy of the target system that has been created in advance. As part of the mass tests, previously determined test plans are processed and the consistency of transferred data is secured. At the same time, it is possible to test accompanying tasks, such as the conversion of interfaces. Users should be involved in the tests during the last integration test at the latest (user acceptance test). If possible, use the source system intended for the productive migration. Productive migration During the productive migration, data is transferred from the productive source system to the productive target system where it will be transformed. Both of these systems should have access to the same file system so that the exported data can be imported to the target system at the same time. While exporting and importing data, a period of downtime is needed for the clients that are involved; the corresponding system interfaces must also be adjusted for the duration of this downtime. Once the migration is finished, an automatic consistency check should be triggered using foreign key relations. At the same time, the test plans that have been defined in advance should be processed. Limitation By using this product, all company codes of a controlling area have to be involved in a conversion of a chart of accounts. All company codes of a controlling area have to stay in the same controlling area in their target status. Company codes can contain a different chart of accounts in their target status. SNP Chart of Accounts Conversion does not support a split of a controlling area.
