All positions will start the Monday after Graduation and will continue through summer until mid-august. Academic Building Service Technician (available positions: 1) Dusting, cleaning furniture and carpets, empting trash/recycling containers, mopping floors, cleaning bathrooms, doing set-ups, including arranging chairs, tables, podiums, stages), and other miscellaneous duties. May have the opportunity to work beyond summer and into the school year. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Prefer some general cleaning and/or carpet cleaning experience, but not required.. Preferred Shift 6 a.m. 2:30 a.m. Academic (Memorial Union) Building Service Technician (available positions: 2) Dusting, cleaning furniture and carpets, emptying trash/recycling containers, mopping floors, cleaning bathrooms, doing set-ups, including arranging chairs, tables, podiums, stages) and other miscellaneous duties. May have the opportunity to work beyond summer and into the school year. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Prefer some general cleaning and/or carpet cleaning experience, but not required.. (1) Anticipated to be Sunday-Friday 11 p.m. 7 a.m. (1) various hours (subject to change). Building Automation Assistant (available positions: 1) Assist the Building Automation Supervisor in clerical work such as filing report, completing building schedules and updating reference material. Responsibilities also will include creating building interface graphics to interact and monitor building statuses, energy management scheduling. Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel required. Must have a mechanical aptitude to understand the mechanical documentation. Must be able to communicate effectively, work independently and have good organizational skills. 2 Electronics Assistant (available positions: 1) Assist with testing and repairing building fire alarm systems. Assist with installing and maintaining the following: temporary wireless security systems in the residential halls, components and cabling for classroom technologies, card access systems, condensate metering systems, and video surveillance systems. Prefer course work in direct current and alternating circuitry. Housing Maintenance Assistant (available positions: 3) Assist in repairs and maintenance in apartments and residence halls. Work may include repairing and building window screens. Replace or repair window cranks and handles. Repair drawers and hardware on furniture and assembling beds. Installing floor tile and cove base. Assisting in plumbing repairs and replacements of sinks, faucets, p-traps, toilet flush handles, fill valves and flappers. Applicants may also be asked to clean work sites and perform other miscellaneous duties. Should have experience with basic hand tools. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to communicate effectively, work independently and have good organizational skills. Must have a valid driver s license. Academic Maintenance Assistant (available positions: 1) Do basic repairs/maintenance in academic buildings and office spaces. Checking window treatments, blinds, latches and screens. Check and replace ceiling tiles if needed. Checking outside and indoor doors, check baseboards and replace as necessary. Check classroom chairs, tables, and theater type seating. Caulking and sealing cracks or control joints in sidewalks and steps. Other repair/maintenance work assigned by your supervisor. Should have experience with basic hand tools. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must have good communication skills. Must have a valid driver s license. Landscaping Assistant (available positions: 13) Work schedule: Lawn Maintenance, mowing, weed eating, weed spraying, planting flowers, trim hedges and trees. Also, picking up debris such as twigs, branches, and leaves. Valid Driver s License Page 2

3 Preventative Maintenance (available positions: 1) Assist Preventive Maintenance Manager with inventory and preventive maintenance program tasks. Will inventory building equipment, enter equipment information into databases, find equipment Operation and Maintenance (O&M) manuals and attach documents electronically in inventory database. Update and maintain Access database for inventory. Run reports in Access and through facility management software. Will perform other office duties as assigned. We are looking for someone who would be available this summer and for the upcoming school year. Hours during the school year would be reduced and flexible for class schedules. Must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel. Must have the ability to learn mechanical systems. Must be able to communicate effectively, work independently, and have good organizational skills. Applicants must also have a valid driver s license. Experience with Microsoft Access is preferred, but not required. 30- for the Summer and hours per week during the school year Plumbing PM Assistant (available positions: 1) Assist the Plumbing Supervisor with preventive maintenance items for the trade. Will write standard operating procedures (SOPs) for mechanical systems. Will identify exterior deficiencies for campus storm sewer catch basins and water distribution curb stops. Will setup GPS software for identifying locations of water distribution curb stops. Will assist with inventories and steam trap preventive maintenance program. Will perform other associated duties as assigned. Must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel. Must have the ability to learn mechanical systems. Must be able to communicate effectively, work independently, and have good organizational skills. Applicants must also have a valid driver s license. 30- Database Assistant (available positions: 1) Will create, edit and maintain Microsoft Access databases and assist with office tasks. Will work with new and existing databases. Will modify and upgrade existing Access inventory databases and create reports for them. Will also work with campus facility condition assessment software and extract necessary data into user-friendly formats. Will need to thoroughly document database configuration and changes. Will write standard operating procedures (SOPs) for associated tasks. Will perform other office duties as assigned. Must be fluent in Microsoft Access. Must be able to create tables, forms, queries, reports, etc. within Access. Must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel. Must be able to communicate effectively, work independently, and have good organizational skills. 30- Page 3

4 Grounds Crew (available positions: 4) Assist with deliveries from central Receiving to various departments on campus. Assists with campus moves. Assists with street care and maintenance. Must be able to lift 70 pounds frequently and without restrictions. Must have a valid driver's license., Monday Friday hours available from 6-5:30 Laundry Assistant (available positions: 1) Washing and drying. Folding, wrapping and pressing of Laundry items. Must be able to work in hot, humid areas and have the ability to stand for a long period of time. 32 hours per week, Monday-Thursday, 8am-4:30pm. May have potential of extra hours on Friday's. HVAC Systems Technician Assistant (available positions: 1) Job Requirements. Assist journeyman mechanics in the diagnosis and repair of rooftop A/C s, cafeteria equipment (coolers and ice machines), etc. Assist with HVAC installations. Assist in cleaning and servicing window A/C s, wall mates, and condensing units. Assist in replacing heating valves/actuators and cleaning radiation coils. Assist in overall water treatment of A/C cooling towers. Assist plumbers with steam traps and other associated items. Will perform other duties as assigned. Prefer students pursuing a HVAC related certificate or degree who have completed one year of study. Must be able to communicate effectively, work independently and have good organizational skills., Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm. Administrative Office Assistant (available positions: 1) Job Requirements. This position will assist the Business Manager in the Business Service Center and Facilities Management Human Resources for between the hours of 8:00am and 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Duties include: completing document drop off and pick up; assisting with reviewing statements; data entry into Excel; assisting with Transportation billings; creating and using Excel spreadsheets; filing, copying, making binders/files/labels; assisting with other tasks as assigned. Must have strong Microsoft Excel and Word knowledge/experience; requires excellent communication skills; requires a valid driver's license, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm. Page 4

5 Painting Assistant (available positions: 5) Painting apartments, residence halls, classrooms, hallways and exterior work. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must have a valid driver's license. Food Service Maintenance (available positions: 2) Service dryers to include tear down, cleaning and part replacement. Dryer lint cleaning and roto brush of all venting and duct work. Second half of the summer will be emergency light testing in all campus buildings. Valid Driver s License Monday-Thursday 7-4:30. Fridays are flexible depending on workload. Warehouse Storekeeper Assistant (available positions: 2) Charging out supplies, in checking receipts, stocking shelves, inventorying stock, parts runner, computer entry, etc. Possibility to work full-time during the summer. Must have proficient computer skills. Must be able to lift pounds. Must have a valid driver's license. Forklift experience preferred up to Lock Shop Assistant (available positions: 3) Process key requests from campus. Make keys and cores for locks. Check and repair locks. Will work with Excel and Access database entry. Perform filing and various office tasks. Valid Driver s License. Must have good communication skills. Process outgoing UND mail using mail-processing equipment. Deliver mail and packages to UND departments Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must have excellent customer service skills and pay attention-to-detail. Must have a driver's license
