Daniel Ward, Director of Marine Managed Services The Team The WRS Crew Management team is a specialist team within the business which focuses exclusively on Crew Management contracts. Each contract is given a dedicated single point of contact who will work exclusively for that client. Daniel Ward acts as Director of Marine Managed Services, with over 16 years experience in marine industry recruitment. WRS Crew Management team are experts in ensuring vessels are fully utilised by: Recognising and recruiting the appropriate calibre of seafarers Time Management; ensuring project timelines are met Efficient visa and permit processing Managing global mobilisation from home location to vessel Assessing training needs / certifications and compentency of crew members Design and implementation of Crewing strategies. Global Mobility WRS Global Mobility team have a wealth of experience in travel and contractor care. We are able to manage all aspects of deployment, care, repatriation and further redeployment. The services covered under Global Mobility are as follows: Pre-employment checks Local Compliance Immigration, Visas and Permits Medical and Travel Insurances Travel and Accommodation booking (including utilisation of Marine fares) Safety and Security services Contractor Care including 24 hour emergency service and traveller tracking Finance and Payroll. Case Study Project In July 2015, WRS was awarded the provision of a managed services contract for a leading Marine Oil and Gas Operator. WRS is engaged as a Managed Services Provider following a comprehensive and protracted tender process to manage two DP3 Construction vessels and one DP2 MPSV working in the offshore Oil & Gas Industry in Brazil, Mexico and Nigeria. WRS was tasked with providing all contract manpower requirements and associated mobilisation and HR services for the life of the project, ensuring low attrition, efficient recruitment processes and smooth on-boarding, as well as enhancing the company s policies and procedures. Challenge This required sourcing, deploying and mobilising hundreds of multinational contractors around the world. Once awarded the contract, WRS appointed a dedicated Account Director and support team to work closely with the Client s leadership team, ensuring strict compliance with legal, fiscal and immigration legislation for all contractors. Recruitment and mobilisation began in August 2015 for all three vessels. Outcome and Cost Savings By the first sail away in August 2015, WRS had on-boarded 270 contractors. WRS have maintained an average time to hire of 10 days and an unprecedented conversion rate of three CVs per start. All three vessels have achieved 100% personnel utilisation without any downtime to our client, including an attrition rate of under 2%. The Client is predicting considerable cost savings on the model in the first year, due to WRS outsourced managed service model including all travel bookings through our dedicated Travel team who are specialists in the utilisation of Marine air fares.
