2 Automate point of sale processes and gain powerful insights to help you deliver superior customer service Standard ERP is ideal for retail Point of Sale environment. This fully integrated system links your front office point of sales system directly to your back office operations. Access the relevant data in realtime, or offline if required. Hardware setup Standard ERP is ideal for Point of Sale (POS) environments, such as a shop. Standard ERP is installed onto a PC connected to a network, which acts as the cash register. Additional POS devices can be connected to the PC and Standard ERP system, and used for data entry or output: Barcode Scanners Standard ERP accepts data entry for any field from a barcode scanner, including inventory codes, commercial barcodes, and serial numbers. Receipt Printers Standard ERP is best set up to print from these printers using escape sequences. Document layout is customizable. Cash Drawers Standard ERP can issue escape sequences to open a cash drawer when printing receipts. Intelligent Keyboards Programmable keyboards allow one or more series of keystrokes to be customized, so a series of Standard ERP commands can be performed at the touch of a single key. Keyboards can be used in this way for data entry (instructing Standard ERP to add a particular piece of data into a specific field), for printing, opening a cash drawer, and moving on to the next transaction. It was important for us that the selling process in the system would be quick and foolproof. It was important that the system was very user friendly, that it s almost impossible for users to make any errors. I am happy that we have achieved these goals with Standard ERP. - Alan Bekhor, Bekhor Offices Touchscreen Monitors Touchscreens allow for faster data entry in predictable environments with relatively few items, such as food and beverage stores. Credit Card Terminals Standard ERP can be interfaced with software used for these machines, eliminating the need for tediously re-typing amounts. Customer Data Collection Retail is a fast-moving environment, thus capturing customer details must be as quick as possible. In many cases, you will not want to record customer address details, for example - Standard ERP supports customizing default configurations for new customers, such as cash terms on a tax-inclusive price list.

3 The power of Standard ERP s integrated approach becomes apparent when you need to capture customer details. If you have dealt with the customer before (whether or not you have sold to them), you can find their details with a couple of keystrokes, and display their payment, pricing and address details. If the customer is unknown, you can quickly register their details from the invoicing screen. In some countries, interfacing with a ZIP code addressing system can accelerate this process and help prevent errors in information. Pricing Each customer can be assigned to an exclusive price list where specific unit prices and/or a discount matrix (for setting a discount percentage) can be applied. Price lists can be set in any currency and include or omit taxes. Promotional price lists valid only for a specific time frame can be configured for a specified date range. Prices can be set up this way for individual items, a group, or for all items in the database. Customer-specific variations of a price list can be designated for select customers without the need for creating a completely new price list. Prices and discounts can also be dependent on the quantity of an item that is sold. With Standard ERP we have dramatically reduced training time for retail operations by 75%. - Robert Ruigrok, CompNow Cash, Credit Cards, Gift Vouchers Payment terms are primarily cash and credit, but there are other options available. For example, you may have trade customers that occasionally pick up their own items, rather than requesting delivery, and want to be invoiced. These terms can be overridden for each transaction - for instance, if the aforementioned trade customer decides to pay cash instead. Accounts Receivable entries will be created automatically for transactions with an outstanding balance. We need to have a good view about the overall operation and sales data in stores, and with Standard ERP s wide area networking capabilities we can log in from anywhere and get a bird s eye view of all the showrooms real-time. - Ghassan Bendali, istyle Standard ERP supports multiple payment methods within one transaction, such as when a customer pays a portion with one or more credit cards and another in cash. Transactions requiring money back are calculated automatically. At the end of a shift, a summary of payments received is displayed, split by payment type. Additionally, Standard ERP reports on the comparison between booked and received earnings. In many countries, Standard ERP offers internet services supporting automatic credit card processing. Standard ERP also allows you to issue gift vouchers and track to whom these were sold. Gift vouchers can be redeemed as an ordinary payment method while the serial numbers are simultaneously verified to ensure the voucher is valid. Standard ERP also supports accepting deposits, both on a discretionary basis and as a percentage of the total invoice. Items processed through the register can subsequently be shipped to the customer. Inventory Standard ERP has a fully integrated inventory system. Please refer to the respective product sheets for more information: Inventory and Purchasing. Additional inventory functions that are often excluded in other POS systems include:

4 serial number tracking. ability to take cash while issuing inventory later (whether for customer collection or dispatch). multiple locations, and multiple positions at each location (for easier inventory discovery). detailed and automated inventory tracking features. multiple inventory valuation methods. support for consignment inventory. extensive reporting on sales, margins, item histories, warranties and much more. Interface and Searches Careful thought has been given to the user interface, ensuring ease of use and rapid data capture. Examples include: cursor movement to mandatory fields only. item warnings to assist users. user-definable buttons, at multiple levels. access to all other parts of the integrated database. The ability to quickly search and find specific data is vital to many POS environments, particularly with regards to inventory and customer information. Standard ERP supports a range of search parameters, inspection and data entry functions, with drill-through functionality, from lists of matching entries onto the point of sales invoice. Items can be assigned multiple classifications, and selected by moving through multi-level menus. Users can select items using Cover Flow; touchscreen or mouse-driven selections of pictures of your inventoried items. Real-time or Batch Standard ERP is a real-time, fully integrated system. Many of the POS users will want to benefit from this, by keeping inventory control figures in real-time. Standard ERP is a unique system allowing use over wide-area networks, regardless of speed, without the requirement for expensive, complex third-party software. As a result, Standard ERP is especially easy to deploy in real-time across multiple sites, allowing you to search your inventory in alternative locations when necessary. Standard ERP has allowed us to merge information from all of our different locations into one database by each shop connecting to the central server directly. - Ilze Neihofere, Aproagrade Some companies may feel insecure working real-time across multiple sites and prefer to use Standard ERP s routines for uploading data to the server from remote locations - these can be run at any interval, and not barred to the traditional overnight routine. This batch method also provides a fallback for real-time users, should the network connection fail for any reason. Queue Busting In particularly busy retail locations, you may benefit from Standard ERP s ability to run on almost any mobile device. Use barcodes or touchscreen to enter items purchased and use wireless printers to print receipts.

5 Interaction with Standard ERP Database Point of Sales is a module fully integrated with all other parts of the Standard ERP database. Many methods of interaction to increase efficiency are possible, increasing efficiency, to include: Accounts Depending on the user s choice, real-time or batch accounting entries are provided respectively. Either way, the need for any rekeying or building expensive interfaces is eliminated. Additionally, you are able to navigate between relevant transactions with single keystrokes. Other Vertical Modules As Standard ERP is a single, integrated database, it is easy for a POS user to be able to process sales with the option to make entries in other parts of the system as well each user being subject to access rights. Among the most common entries include service orders (repairs), producing maintenance contracts, and the sales of implementation services. When we close for the day, the Cash Up report makes it easy to balance the cash. - Frank-Steinar Pedersen, Eplehuset Inventory Again, depending on your choice, real-time or batch inventory control entries are provided respectively as well, across all locations. These figures are easily located through the point of sale. Purchasing It is easy to find the expected delivery time for items out of inventory, and store managers have an array of tools to assist them with purchasing, placing orders with vendors directly for example, or with requisitioning, such as those operating with a centralized purchasing structure. Customer Relationship Management (CRM) After capturing customer data at the point of sale, it is easy to target mailshots on a regular basis - for example, it takes around a minute to send a marketing to all customers profiled as being interested in your most expensive product, but have not yet made the purchase. Document management Any file can be attached to any record in the Standard ERP database. Most frequently, this will be pictures attached to the item record - both to assist with data entry and for printing on invoices.
