2 October 2, 2009: Media and documentation Description Installation and upgrade consumability In FileNet Content Manager V4.5.1, the concept of "project" is introduced in the configuration manager. Using "projects" enables the administrator to group related configuration files together. This improves the user experience by enabling user defined grouping of files. Content Engine upgrades: With FileNet Content Manager V4.5.1, the system will automatically detect the Content Engine version and automatically run the upgrader utility if required. This removes the requirement to manually detect and run the content engine upgrades. Configuration Manager enhancements:filenet Content Manager V4.5 introduced a new tool called Configuration Manager to manage configurations related to Content Engine. In FileNet Content Manager V4.5, Configuration Manager could only configure one task of a given type at a time. Now FileNet Content Manager V4.5.1 users can configure multiple tasks of a given type, reducing the of times users have to run ConfigUI. For example, at a minimum, Content Engine requires two JDBC tasks. By allowing multiple tasks, users have to run the Configuration Manager only once. Documentation access: Prior to FileNet Content Manager V4.5.1, users had to install the P8 documentation from the product media. With FileNet Content Manager V4.5.1, the documentation is now available on ibm.com, which speeds and simplifies documentation access. FileNet Content Manager V4.5.1 ships selected platform-specific installation guides. Again, this makes the installation instructions easier to find and follow. Application deployment consumability: Provides more flexibility in deploying applications with the following new capabilities: Change impact analysis: This new capability helps administrative and deployment personnel by identifying common problems before changes are made to destination systems and by producing reports of objects to be deployed. Updates a sub-set of previously deployed Content Engine objects. Improvements to import/export tools for usability and scalability of FileNet Content Manager V Extended platform capabilities: Support for Oracle Internet Directory Introduction of Oracle Internet Directory LDAP support broadens the FileNet Content Manager support for directory servers. Support for User Principal Name (UPN) or -style logon name Logging on via UPN or -like values, strings with a pattern like 'xxx@yyy.zzz', and use such strings as P8 user or group short names is supported as of P This support benefits customers who choose UPN logon names as their authentication standard. Fully qualified UPN and like names normally are unique, stable, and easy to remember, making it a reasonable choice as the logon name. Support for single-instance storage FileNet Content Manager V4.5.1 provides de-duplication support for content ingested into P8 regardless of the source. Support for de-duplication of content elements saves storage costs and improves performance for duplicate content elements stored in the repository. Support for Centera dynamic logging facility - prior to V4.5.1, users had to restart the Centera server for logging. Support for the DR550 device with Tivoli Storage Manager, added in Content Manager V4.5 service pack 2, and remains supported in V IBM FileNet Rendition Engine The Rendition Engine is a publishing tool that allows you to create a replica of a document. The replica, known as the publication document, can have its own security and property settings, as well as a different format than the original (or source) document. Currently publishing to PDF or HTML are supported. Bundling in (IMAE) IBM FileNet IMAE is an offering which is comprised of IBM FileNet Image Services and IBM FileNet Content Manager. IMAE enables existing Image Services users to broaden the functionality of their solution to include additional content types and business processes supported by FileNet Content Manager. With IMAE, Image Services users can share content from an existing Image Services repository with content stored in FileNet Content Manager repositories. IMAE users can then take advantage of various user interface solutions for FileNet Content Manager, add business process management capabilities as needed, and leverage existing FileNet Content Manager content management solutions. UVU entitlements are based on the of users for the given program. A PoE must be obtained for the appropriate of UVUs required for your environment as defined by the specific program terms. The UVU entitlements are specific to the program and may not be exchanged, interchanged, or aggregated with UVU entitlements of another software program. UVU licensing offers price benefits for customers by enabling a lower cost of incremental growth of resources. To understand these benefits of UVU licensing, and to determine how many UVUs to obtain for the program, contact your IBM representative. A Value is a pricing charge metric for program license entitlements, which is based upon the quantity of a specific designated measurement used for a given program. Each program has a designated measurement. The most commonly used designated measurement is a processor core. However, for select programs, there are other designated measurements such as users or resources which may include servers, client devices, and messages. The of Value entitlements required for a program depends on how the program is deployed in your environment and must be obtained from a Value table. You must obtain a PoE for the calculated of value unit entitlements for your implementation. The value unit entitlements are specific to a program and may not be exchanged, interchanged, or aggregated with Value entitlements of another program. At all times, the of users accessing the program or any component of the program in any manner, directly or indirectly (for instance, via a multiplexing program, device, or application server) or through any other means must not exceed your entitlement to use the program, as indicated on the applicable PoEs. Authorized (AUVU): For selectively licensing internal users within your organization. The licensee is the legal entity that is authorized to execute and administer this agreement on behalf of an enterprise. The licensee need not be a company and may be the entire enterprise. For the IBM Content Collector Discovery Analytics Starter Pack, only the AUVU is applicable. Starter Pack Authorized (SPAUVU): For selectively licensing internal users within your organization.
