1 POSITION DESCRIPTION Title: Reprting t: Direct Reprts: Netwrk Assets Manager Netwrk Manager Recrds Team Leader Asset Manager (2) Maintenance Manager (2) PURPOSE OF POSITION The Netwrk Assets Manager reprts t the Netwrk Manager and is a member f the Netwrk Infrastructure team f MainPwer New Zealand Limited (the Cmpany). The Netwrk Assets Manager is respnsible fr develping, implementing and maintaining asset fleet management strategies fr all MainPwer Assets (Regulated and Nnregulated) that are aligned with the: 1. MainPwer Asset Management Plicy; 2. MainPwer Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP); and 3. MainPwer Regulatry Asset Management Plan (RAMP). The asset fleet management strategies are t fllw best practice prcesses; develped with a fcus n reliability-centred maintenance and cnditin based risk management (CBRM), safety, envirnmental, security f supply and netwrk perfrmance. This rle takes a leadership respnsibility fr a hlistic apprach t ptimising the lifecycle f assets, frm asset selectin and cnceptual design thrugh t decmmissining and dispsal. The Netwrk Assets Manager will cntribute t asset management decisin making including asset management strategy, planning and perfrmance mnitring, prviding insight frm maintenance prgrammes, asset testing and data analysis. Manage and regularly reprt n department peratinal and financial perfrmance. Asset Management (Lifecycle) Strive fr excellence in asset management thrugh asset fleet strategies, lifecycle activities and asset management planning. Lead the Netwrk Assets team t develp, implement and maintain asset lifecycle fleet strategies acrss all MainPwer s asset classes. Develp and implement cnditin based risk management (CBRM) mdels fr all asset classes t infrm asset maintenance, testing and replacement prgrammes. Develp annual asset inspectins, testing and reliabilitycentred maintenance prgrammes t supprt cnditin based risk management (CBRM) acrss all MainPwer s asset classes. Develp three year asset replacement prgramme using CBRM mdels with relevant business cases incrprating cst-benefit-risk analysis and netwrk perfrmance impact. 3 Cnduct annual asset fleet risk assessments and interventin plans utside f replacement prgrammes. Investigate and analyse the impact f vegetatin n MainPwer s netwrk perfrmance and safety and implement relevant vegetatin management prgrammes; Develp, implement and maintain netwrk and crprate prperty management systems (e.g resurce cnsenting, envirnmental management). Manage and maintain apprpriate levels f asset emergency spares, aligned with asset fleet strategies and emergency respnse capability. Cntribute t the MainPwer risk management framewrk, identifying risks and develping cntrls t manage risk apprpriately. Cntribute t MainPwer s Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP), Asset Management Plan (AMP) and Regulatry Asset Management Plan (RAMP), including develping the 10 year asset maintenance and replacement budget frecasts. Cntribute t achieving ISO55000 accreditatin. Netwrk Data and GIS Ensure MainPwer s asset infrmatin and asset data strage systems supprt Netwrk activities and requirements. Develp, implement and maintain MainPwer s Asset Data Strategy, cllating and defining asset infrmatin needed fr the business. Maintain MainPwer s asset data strage, data integrity and Integrated Asset Management System (TechOne). Develp and maintain MainPwer s GIS system; Maintain up-t-date GIS netwrk cnnectivity mdel thrugh efficient as-builting prcesses. Develp advanced netwrk data and GIS analysis capability and perfrm netwrk data and GIS analysis t supprt and infrm the Netwrk Assets team and the greater Netwrk team activities. Analyse and reprt mnthly, detailed netwrk perfrmance infrmatin including asset failure mdes, feeder perfrmance and perfrmance indices. Manage netwrk related cntrlled dcuments in line with cmpany prcesses. Asset Management Netwrk Supprt Prvide crss-functinal asset management and data supprt t Netwrk team activities. Mnitr prject delivery and ensure assets and asset infrmatin are intrduced int the apprpriate systems, e.g asset data, wrk schedules, cmmissining infrmatin. 4 and asset infrmatin frm netwrk planning, engineering, design and delivery thrugh t peratins and the ADMS, asset database and asset management systems. Develp and implement a structured prcess t manage asset defects. Cmplete plant, equipment and activity risk assessments fr all assets in cnductin with Health and Safety representatives. Where risks exceed the tlerance level f the rganisatin ensure training mdules, Safe Wrk Methd Statements are develped as required. Ensure training mdule requirements are added int the team skills matrix and training plan. Health and Safety Supprt Prvide supprt t the Netwrk team t cntribute twards a culture f health and safety. Psitively cntribute t the Cmpany s health and safety culture thrugh active supprt and adherence t internal plicies and prcedures. Ensure safety by design practices are applied t all stages f wrk. Act as a rle mdel fr health and safety practices and plicies. Ensure training mdules fr all Plant, Equipment and Activity risks are delivered, maintained and remain relevant fr the safe, sustainable peratin f all assets. Prvide training t peratinal, cntractrs and ther maintenance staff as required. Ensure training recrds (Team Skills Matrix) are updated accrdingly. Audit, Risk and Cmpliance Management Identificatin, assessment, mnitring and management f risks, using the Risk Management Framewrk. Understand and cntribute t MainPwer s netwrk regulatry cmpliance and reprting. Manage and maintain MainPwer s Resurce Management Act reprting and cmpliance. Develp and maintain an accurate Risk Register in accrdance with the Main Pwer Risk Management Framewrk. Annually reassess risks and their ptential impact n the electricity netwrk and MainPwer s business as a whle in particular with regard t emplyee and public safety. Ensure cntrls that mitigate risk are implemented effectively are maintained t an apprpriate level. Ensure the Netwrk Assets team activities cmply with all MainPwer s Plicies and Prcedures. 5 Attend industry best practice curses, events and ensure that MainPwer s asset management systems, plicies and prcedures are current and wrld class. Research, understand and apply relevant industry standards and prcedures relating t asset management, data and GIS. Team Participatin Cntribute t and wrk with the Netwrk Team and wider Cmpany, t deliver a cnstructive wrkplace culture. Ensure the Netwrk Manager is made aware f issues and kept infrmed f develpments relating t the Maintenance team. Prvide quality service and supprt t all cntact areas within MainPwer, including backup supprt as required. Participate fully in meetings with clleagues, cntributing as apprpriate and supprting clleagues as required. Engage with and develp psitive and effective relatinships with custmers, staff members, suppliers and cntractrs. Share technical knwledge and expertise; prvide training fr ther staff as required, and custmer knwledge t enhance custmer service. Participate in weekly meetings with the Netwrk Manager addressing: HSE (Incidents, SWMS, Plant Equipment and Activity Risk Assessments); Resurcing (Financial and Human Resurces); Rles and Respnsibilities; Capital Prjects; Lifecycle Activities; Risk Management. COMPETENCIES SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE In rder t be effective in the psitin, the Netwrk Assets Manager shall have and be able t demnstrate, the fllwing skills and experience. Bachelr s Degree in Electrical Engineering r equivalent relevant tertiary qualificatin. 5+ years leadership experience; capable f leading and managing a team, including recruitment and staff develpment, and ability t effectively address perfrmance issues. A strng understanding and knwledge f the electricity distributin and/r transmissin industry with prven experience in infrastructure asset management, including knwledge and experience in the applicatin f electricity distributin lifecycle practices and engineering ecnmic analysis. Cmpetent in the use f GIS, asset data and integrated asset management systems. Cmpetent dcumentatin and reprt writing skills. Strng prject management skills and experience. A prfessinal and results rientated apprach with gd business and custmer fcus. An ability t take initiative cmbined with sund judgement Excellent cmmunicatin and prblem slving skills Ability t wrk cnstructively in a team Shares infrmatin with apprpriate individuals.
