3 Scalable Software Solutions for Mosquito Control Application Modules For: Larviciding To control mosquito populations, field inspectors locate standing water bodies that serve as mosquito breeding grounds. If larvae or pupae are present, control agents are applied. Field inspectors prepare for field work by downloading inspections, accompanying maps, and GIS layers into their handheld device. In the field, they navigate to the water bodies needing inspection. Once at the location, the crew maps a site, records an inspection, or views a past inspection. Inspectors can record the application of multiple biological agents, along with the efficacy dates. ArcGIS later uses these dates to schedule follow-up visits. Storm drain treatment tools and workflow are included. Surveillance Collecting data on adult mosquitoes facilitates the formulation of an effective control plan. Adult mosquito surveillance methods include: 1. Monitoring adult mosquito population over time via trap sites 2. Input mosquito species and the number per species per trap site 3.
