For previous version enhancements, please view the Instructions and Release Notes Previous Versions folder on the Program disc or folder. Once Infinity has been installed, the Help Text provides overviews and uses for all modules and features. Announcement Microsoft SQL 2000 is no longer being supported. If you are running Microsoft SQL Server 2000 in your business, please speak with an ImproMed Customer Support Technician about upgrading to a newer version of SQL. Please review ImproMed s Recommended Hardware Specifications in the event your hardware needs to be upgraded to support the newest version of Microsoft SQL Server and Infinity. Important! 2 Future Date Warning: Receive a warning when entering a future date performed. Right-Click Shortcuts: Modifying Invoices is now even easier with right-clicking! Rightclick within the Modify screen to change provider, date performed and many other options. Marshfield Labs Bi-Directional Integration: Place orders for Marshfield Labs through the Lab Requests feature of your software. As soon as the results are available, they are automatically downloaded via ImproMed s Universal Lab Reader and imported to the patient s electronic medical record in Infinity. Message Center: Automatically add the active patient to a Message Center record when creating a new message. Transaction Corrections: Reasons for transaction corrections are now conveniently viewable within the Transaction Histories. Treatment Plans Directions: Create default directions per treatment or enter them on the fly and have them display directly on the Treatment Plan. Additional Release Notes and Fixes Accounts Receivable When concluding an invoice using a Payment Plan, Accounts Receivable totals have been updated to reflect the updated amounts. Statements will not show duplicate charges if an invoice is completed in a previous statement period and is not split billed but becomes split billed in the current statement period. Two options have been added for Statement Templates for Split Billing. One is the option to show amounts for the statement client only and the other to show the split billed total per patient or date performed. Programming changes were made so when split billing changes, statement balances are correct. The client s accounts receivable balance matches the Aged Trial Balance when concluding an invoice with multiple products of the same price and used an employee bundle. We corrected statements with incorrect balances when the grouping option of either Date Performed or Patient were selected. State abbreviations were added to the Dunning export. Treatment Plans Directions: Create default directions per treatment or enter them on the fly and have them display directly on the Treatment Plan. Have clients with a Credit Balance and Outstanding A/R Balance? Use Batch Credit Balances to make these payments collectively Export your Statements en masse by selecting a Client Type! Updated the Statement XML Export to be accurate. Fixed statements to print the correct previous balances. Updated code to improve Accounts Receivable. Boarding The Patient Status and Boarding Census Reports are always available from either the Reports or Boarding Modules. If using Full Days for Boarding Reservations, the Treatment Plans location now displays the correct location for both morning and afternoon.

3 Client and Patient Database Database records are always updated when the patient has a lot of appointment history. When Rechecks are attached to products and have database fields inserted, the fields now display the correct data instead of the field name. Input masks have been added to the phone fields in Setup Stables and Setup Trainers to aid in data entry. When entering an address in Setup Stables or Setup Trainers, a warning is displayed until a valid address has been entered. A valid address consists of symbol and a valid suffix. Database Alerts can now be viewed within Client/Patient Notes so nothing is missed. Make existing clients Stables or Trainers by the click of a button or simply create new clients without having to create them as Stables and Trainers separately. Added shortcut buttons in the Database Module to access Edit AR Settings and Setup Split Billing. Fixed refresh from making the Database Module the focus. Corporate/Franchise Edition Only Deleting cities/states, countries, and employee groups now pushes to franchises. Documents Operators can now cancel print jobs at the Select Provider prompt. Resolved an error which prevented operators from printing documents. Added information status messages to the Print and Preview process of viewing Documents. EasyTime Appointment Scheduler The entire EasyTime Appointment Scheduler has been improved through a rewrite in the advanced.net programming language, allowing for a smoother functioning interface, as well as the following new features: The Overview by Resource and by Date reports print the full day if the start and end times are the same (set to 12:00 A.M.). The Dashboard now sorts appointments by the Start Date. Multi-patient appointments can now have one status instead of individual statuses. Print Check-In Sheets from the Find Appointment screen or List view in addition to all of the other EasyTime Appointment Scheduler views. EasyTime Appointment Labels and Check-In Sheets now print the full appointment start and end time instead of the individual client/patient start and end times. The Activity Schedule by Time and by Resource, Schedule, Missed Appointments, Day View Schedule, and Daily Appointment Schedule have all been updated to print the correct times for all appointments. Deleted patients, in a multi-patient appointment, will not show up when using View Appointment. One status per appointment group for Find Appointment and Recent List/Dashboard Appointment view has been implemented. If the status of any part of an appointment is changed, the whole group will update. Group appointments will be returned, when Client only is selected, in the Find Appointment and Recent List/Dashboard Appointment view. When appointments are grouped together and the Edit Appointment window is open, Infinity now defaults to the first patient tab. Updated printing capabilities for printing labels from within the EasyTime Appointment Scheduler. Updated the Directions functionality within EasyTime.

4 When creating a new client from the Appointment window, the newly created client is brought back into the appointment. Corrected the functionality of the recurring appointment. The duration of appointments will show day(s), hour(s), minute(s) in the List view, Recent List/ Dashboard Appointment view, and Find Appointment. Block Times can be added on the fly, and/or maintained within Setup for more permanent uses. Operators can see, in real time, when appointments are being scheduled by other operators before they are saved, preventing appointments from overlapping. Recurring appointments have enhanced options to schedule future appointments faster and easier than ever before. Appointments may be categorized into Standard and Mobile Types. Mobile Types are to be used when the appointment is not within the business, allowing appointments to be scheduled for Trainers, Stables, and/or remote locations. Appointment duration may be set to any length of time, 5 minutes, 20 minutes, 1 hour 19 minutes, etc.. Multiple patient appointments can be displayed as one or multiple appointments. Each patient included in the appointment may have their own visit reason included on their appointment tab. Client/Patient information is visible while adding/editing appointments by simply using the built-in Dashboard. All appointments are now sorted by Status Type into Categories. Operators can choose which categories are visible at any time. When an appointment is deleted, it is placed into a Deleted category, which can be made visible when needed. Daily and Weekly views allows for Time Slots to be displayed differently throughout the business. Month view now shows the entire month of appointments. This view also allows you to easily move to the day view to see all appointments scheduled for the selected date. The previous month view is now called List view. Timeline view is a snapshot of the day view in which you can see a larger portion of the day, and available times within it, similar to the previous time bar. Directions can now be printed from origin to point, point to point in order, or optimized. Check-in Sheets utilizing Medical Record Print templates can be printed directly from the EasyTime Appointment Scheduler for a specific appointment, an entire day of appointments, or for a specific patient. Monthly Summary prints appointments scheduled for the selected month. By having Canned Quick Blocks, you can add standardized block times quickly and easily. Estimates Fixed signing a consent form after taking a down payment. Estimates and Canned Estimates may be grouped so they can be viewed and sorted easier. Inventory Inventory management is one of the most important and time consuming pieces of any veterinary business. Counting and dispensing inventory may also be the most common area that allows for human errors. Cubex is a solution to help veterinary businesses with this problem. The Cubex inventory management solutions are designed to control the cost of supplies and support staff with automated inventory tracking and invoicing with Infinity. Using Henry Schein Animal Health (HSAH) and Intelligent Inventory, operators may now send purchase orders directly to Henry Schein and checkout online using Closed Loop Ordering. Inventory Module now allows items in inventory to be moved in batches between locations or businesses with ease. Your Inventory Want List now passes the notes entered into your Purchase Orders.

5 Invoicing The display order of all transactions now keeps all in the correct order including cancelled invoices. Removing invoices which included negative dollar amounts on taxable items caused the accounts receivable balance to be incorrect even though the Aged Trial Balance was still correct. Past Invoices could print invalid dollar amounts when a product was added after the invoice was originally concluded causing the invoice amounts to calculate incorrectly. Invoices generated before Infinity v5.1sr7 could have values missing from tables causing invoices to print incorrect values, this has been altered to print the correct values. When adding items that include Usage Tax using the Batch Invoicing function, the total invoice amount is now calculated correctly. Reviewing Invoices now includes the correctly calculated tax for the entire invoice. Setup Invoice Templates has been adjusted to print the number of copies desired from the template itself. Invoice options have been enriched with new ways to provide efficiency while building invoices. Batch Conclude has been redesigned to include tabs for open invoices by stables and trainers. The large negative number which displayed during the processing has been removed. The option to select items Already on the Invoice has been added to the Selection list on the Cubex panel. The Patient Selector on Travel Sheets has been redesigned to accommodate longer patient names, filter out inactive and deceased patients, and a search bar added to search the patient list for matching entries. The value of the Current Invoice Total will print for an invoice when the Accounts Receivable Status is displayed. Also updated the Invoice Templates to always print the correct Current Invoice Total. Added a right-click mouse action to the Invoice column titles which allows the width of the columns to be set. The multi-invoice feature allows operators to add products from any business to the same invoice. Added the ability to print Split Billed and Stable/Trainer Invoices. The program was modified to force split billed invoices to be one patient per invoice. Add Product Item Screens (Invoicing, Estimates, Compliance Lists, Treatment Plans, and Prescriptions): Products in each Add screen can be assigned to Profit Centers or Storage Locations differing from their original configuration. When searching for Products within Add screens, fuzzy searches may be completed using the binoculars icon. Patients can be selected by owner, stable, trainer, or referral source. Split Billing can be modified per product or have defaults set while maintaining revision records. New options are available to select which items/patients are available, as well as how they are displayed when viewing items that have been added. When adding products to invoices for a past billing period, the date of the transaction will not be the date of the invoice; but rather, the current application date. If a product is added to an invoice within the same billing period the date of that product will be the date of the invoice. Patients may now have multiple open invoices. If a client has multiple open invoices, they can be merged into one. Multiple invoices may be concluded in batches so that the balances are added to the client s accounts receivable balance. Modify invoice display order on the fly. If your business no longer accepts pennies, you can set your invoice options to the smallest amount you do accept. Invoicing can be done completely using Keyboard shortcuts. Patient Discounts, much like Client Discounts, can be assigned within each patient s database record.

6 New SuperMode options to allow discount names, patient discounts, and minimum prices to be used. Stop invoice confusion! Invoice Templates no longer need to print the Increase or Decrease A/R in the payment section. Updated the Invoice Template when pulling the outstanding Accounts Receivable balance to include previous invoices on Mobile Units until they are synchronized. Invoice History displays all invoices for the active client, including invoices where they are part owner or split billed. Updated the signature windows to behave properly when shown in forms or taking payments. Invoices now display the correct stable or trainer if they are split billed with the database owner. The price of components will always recalculate if the quantity is changed within the bundle. Invoices concluded on a mobile now appear in Medical Records on the Mobile station prior to synchronizing. Mobile invoices can now be previewed on Mobile devices. Revised the calculation of the before and after Accounts Receivable totals for Mobile invoices. Medical Records Full Text Medical Record searches can now default to the currently selected patient. The Forms code has been updated so when modifying a form and moving rich text boxes around, a run-time error will not occur. The spell check window on a form will display at the bottom of the window when the text box is scrolled off the screen. The auto-link to a URL within a medical record rich text editor will launch the default browser when clicked. The Print Folder Label button from the Medical Records object, Radiograph, will print labels based upon the Perform Date rather than the Create Date. Sending referral information to another practice and want to keep a record? Archive it before ing or printing. With the adaptation of SNOMED CT terms, your business receives much improved access to standardized medical terminologies, reducing the financial burden associated with their use by veterinary professionals. Amerian Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) funded VTSL to align its terminology with the Systematized Nomenclature of Medicine Clinical Terms (SNOMED CT ) and create a subset of diagnostic terms. This subset, distributed in an xml document, consists of medical concepts and their synonyms, which are needed to record common patient findings in small animal businesses. The American Association of Equine Practitioner s (AAEP) also funded the development of a subset of the Systematized Nomenclature of Medicine Clinical Terms (SNOMED CT ) consisting of equine diagnostic terms which will be useful in recording patient findings in electronic veterinary medical records system. Mobile The option to apply a Credit Balance will no longer be available on the Mobile database from the Make Payments screen or from the Conclude screen, if the client has a credit balance. The creation of Stables and Trainers is allowed in the Database module in Infinity Mobile Edition. Reports The export of the Summary Report has been updated to include the correct SuperMode Adjustment values. The Unpaid Invoices Report has been updated to handle Split Billing accounts as well as the tax from invoice totals. The Reminder Status Report and the Weight History Report can now be exported as a PDF or XPS file and are automatically attached to s as PDF files.

7 Operators are now able to select which product categories to print for and provides totals for the categories if desired with the Product Analysis by Employee report. The Waiting List Report has been updated to sort the same as the Reservations Waiting List screen in the Boarding module. The Patient Status Report export has been corrected. The Controlled Drug Log has been modified so the heading Returned by Customer will not print if a controlled drug is invoiced from a mobile unit. When changing the selling price of products, the Product Usage Report now prints the correct quantity sold. The Cashier Balance Report now displays the employees/operators that are marked available for use by the selected business. The Employee Commission Report - Accounts Receivable Based Report does not total products invoiced where payments have not been made. Updated the Employee Outstanding A/R Report to include items with tax correctly. The Controlled Drug Substance Export has been updated to include the changes the State of New York are requiring by October 1, The Summary Report has been amended to include interest and NSF in the summation of the Unpaid A/R value. The tax totals now include taxes marked as 0%. The Employee Commissions - Accounts Receivable Based Report is used to show the commission amounts for each employee using their Commission Schedule for products sold based on the accounts receivable balance status. The Employee Commissions - Products Invoiced Based Report is used to show the commission amounts for each employee based on their Commission Schedule for all invoiced products. The Employee A/R - # of Days Outstanding Report is used to show the employee who still has clients with outstanding accounts receivable older than a set amount of days. The Daily Appointment Schedule Report displays every appointment scheduled for a particular date range sorted chronologically by appointment time. The Reservation Day Sheet Report displays the reservation ward, cage, arrival date, and client and patient information along with any reservation comments entered. As part of State Prescription Monitoring Programs, the Controlled Substance Log Export offers a way to automatically gather necessary information and export it to one file that can be sent to the state. When an item gets marked as a Controlled Substance, an entry will be made into the Controlled Substance Log with the inventory information whenever the item is added or removed from an invoice. Please note that each state has a their own fields and specifications, so please ensure that you are following your state laws. The ability to send letters that include product invoice details is a feature available within the Reports Module. Products Invoiced can print on letters to clients, stables, or trainers along with customized messages. New Inventory Adjustment Reports to provide desired information about each type of adjustment or movement made. Want to know how much revenue a client brings to your business? The new Client Revenue Report provides a quick breakdown of how much a client spends during a selected time frame within your business. All EasyTime Reports have a new option to include the client summary and visit reasons when printing appointments. Removed the time from the Aging Date when printing the Charge Interest Report. Modified the EasyTime Schedule Report to show the start and end time for an appointment as a whole instead of individually. Updated the Location Census Log Report to include patients in Census Locations after the Census Location was modified. Enhanced the Aged Trial Balance Report to support split billing transactions.

8 Transaction Corrections Invoicing out a product with a zero price and removing it now displays on the Aged Trial Balance as well as the Aged Trial Balance Report. Statements no longer displays zero priced product that has been removed. Create past invoices for the current statement cycle and allow the product attachments to be updated in real time. Split Billing changes can be made after the invoices have been completed. Completed invoices may be modified at any time, as needed. Resolved the transaction correction Change Payment Amount to round the refund amount correctly when the Round option is set to Nickel (Canada). Updated code so every transaction that gets created is at least 10 seconds later than the previous transaction. Treatment Plans Treatment Plan reports have been modified to include Treatment Directions. Updated the Chart View to allow a specific column width and auto-adjust the row height when displaying Directions. The Directions will continue to display after a treatment has been marked as complete. Operators can add additional treatment sections to categorize products. Products can be setup to default to specific instances, or set on the fly when they are added to a Treatment Plan. Comments can now be added for each individual treatment item, as opposed to all items. Products can have treatment plan instances set as defaults and exported to other products. Transferring a health plan from an Estimate to the Treatment Plan, then completing the treatment item, now updates the Health Plan records! Treatment Plans has new columns and sort options available when in Chart View for directions and product category abbreviations. Updated the Chart View to display all instances and entries of the same product entered multiple times for the same patient. Resolved multiple treatments being displayed after modifying product categories. Overall Program When computer dates and the Infinity application dates differ, transactions could have dates that generated items out of order causing problems within Invoicing and Transaction Corrections. Lock down Internet access to prevent unauthorized access to the World Wide Web using Security. Database date fields will display dates in the format selected in Workstation Preferences. With the Dashboard open and performing a Quick Search for a patient, the Desktop and Dashboard will display the same patient from the search. When a Canned Estimate contains a formatted enote, the note will retain the formatting when imported into an Estimate. For states that require, by law, the statement, Interchange is mandated unless the practitioner writes the words No Substitution in the space provided, a text field labeled Footer Message has been added to the Written Prescription dialog box. Updated how Infinity tests to see if a commission percentage has changed when Zero Commission Schedule is selected within the Employee Commission Schedules setup. Updated the Desktop Title Text to display the patient weight correctly. Updated the Product Attachments to bring up future appointments only when making a patient deceased. Added the ability to choose from multiple COM ports when using the Topaz Signature Capture device in Workstation Preferences.

9 Updated the Setup Marshfield and IDEXX LabREXX Links dialog boxes to run with Microsoft Server Updated the idvinventorylots Database Views to contain a column which tells where a Lot record was created: Purchase Order or another method. Corrected when printing communication items from within Infinity licenses were used when it wasn t necessary. New GlobalVetLINK customers will be able to download the necessary data needed for the integration to work successfully. GlobalVetLINK Web Service has been updated to provide the new format submission and account information linking required by GlobalVetLINK. Enjoy speed and performance enhancements made to the overall program. The provider will now display in the Medical Records module without expanding the item. Removed trailing zeros in patient weights from the following areas: EasyTime Appointment Notes, Quick Search Results, Find Results, and Desktop Title Text. Updated the Dashboard auto launch feature. Stopped Quick Search Defaults from being reset inappropriately. Updated file formats to work with new Phoenix lab files. Resolved image issues within the Clinic Census. Updated Group Chat to work with Windows 8. Searching for clients now allows you to select patients properly. Fixed System Checks which was incorrectly warning operators that backups were not being performed. Resolved the security setting only looking at the primary practice when Editing a Message in the Message Center Module. Corrected Data Views to export images properly. Employee management is even easier with the Employee Spreadsheet allowing changes en masse. Infinity Support Tools and Full Text Indexing have been rewritten to.net programming. Sick of entering a password in Infinity? Swipe your employee access cards instead! Fixed access cards login to work after leaving workstation idle. Use the Client or Patient Quick Search to quickly find the client or patient you are looking for. The Quick Search allows multiple database fields to be searched from one field. All search settings have been moved to Global Preferences so now all operators and workstations have the same settings throughout your business, and you only have to set them once. Please make sure to review Global Preferences for accuracy. For more assistance on this, please review your upgrade guide or contact ImproMed Customer Support. Operators can be set to log off Infinity automatically after being idle a set amount of time. Patient lineage can now be tracked in the Pedigree Module. Infinity Group Chat allows operators to send messages and communicate with other operators within each Infinity Business. Send Coggins Submission Requests electronically using GlobalVetLINK Web Service. statements to clients wishing to receive statements electronically. Added a new virtual menu for Equine practitioners. New Dashboard Shortcuts are now available to view appointments, reservations, invoices, and rechecks.

10 The Documents Module supports the export of EasyTime Appointment Scheduler contents (see the help text for more detailed information). Configure the List Bar to display the Client s Full Name, as well as patient reminders, if applicable. Select patients from the Stables and/or Trainers sections of the List Bar. Viewing patient s diagnostic data together has never been easier than with IDEXX VetConnect Plus. It s easy to compare in-house results to reference laboratory results, view trends, and provide more informed recommendations. Submissions for GlobalVetLink have been updated to help map fields for new client/patient requests.
