4 About Ericsson About Ericsson Ericsson combines Ericsson Network Engineer and Granite Inventory to give Communications Service Providers (CSP) unparalleled management of their network build process, inventory of both physical and logical resources, capacity management, and automated design and assign of circuits and services. Ericsson Network Engineer is a data-driven software application for design, documentation, and maintenance of plant facilities and detail views for communications networks that also implements a work order management system. 5 End User Ericsson End User OBES II-01 Description This instructor-led course with hands-on activities and demonstrations will discuss the functions and processes, data mapping, stewardship, and abstractions, and the capabilities to view results and analyze resulting data. Participants will experience how work orders in Ericsson Network Engineer that create, modify, or delete sites, cable, equipment, or connectivity, are used to effect those equivalent changes in Granite Inventory. Learning objectives On completion of this course the participants will be able to: 1. Outline the Ericsson functions 2. Identify, at a high-level, the data mapping between Ericsson Network Engineer and Granite Inventory 3. Overview the normal flow of a network build scenario 4. Discuss a user scenario, view a demonstration and analyze the results of Ericsson Integrated Inventory processing 5. State the reporting capabilities to view results and analyze data Target audience The target audience for this course is: Service Planning Engineer, Service Design Engineer and Network Design Engineer Prerequisites Successful completion of the following courses: Ericsson Network Engineer End User Granite Inventory Foundations Topics in the course Topics in this course include: Overview of Ericsson functionality Introduction of Ericsson Network Engineer and Granite Inventory Ericsson Integrated Inventory workflow discussion Group demo scenario and viewing results Duration and class size The length of the course is 1 day. 6 Configuration and Troubleshooting Ericsson Configuration and Troubleshooting OBES II-02 Description This instructor-led course with hands-on activities provides participants instruction on how to configure, and maintain an envi ronment. Granite Inventory and Ericsson Network Engineer configuration requirements will be addressed and recommendations for optimum performance and reliability will be proposed. Learning objectives On completion of this course the participants will be able to: 1. Gain and understanding of the Ericsson Integrated Inventory process flow 2. Understand the configuration requirements of both Granite Inventory and Ericsson Network Engineer components 3. Work with a simple network build scenario within Ericsson 4. Gain a knowledge of how to troubleshoot and maintain Ericsson Target audience The target audience for this course is: Service Deployment Engineer, Network Deployment Engineer, Customer Care Administrator and System Administrator Prerequisites Successful completion of the following courses: Ericsson Integrated Inventory End User Topics in the course Topics covered in this training course include: Ericsson Integrated Inventory overview Understanding the process flow Core component prerequisites Data mapping between Ericsson Network Engineer and Granite Inventory - Commonality and stewardship - Synchronization configuration Maintaining and troubleshooting Optional test Duration and Class Size The length of the course is 2 days.
