1 JOB DESCRIPTION TEMPLATE JOB DETAILS JOB TITLE REPORTS TO DEPARTMENT REF NUMBER LOCATION ADDRESS Junior Business Analyst IT Manager Technology Junior Business Analyst:0006 Pretoria CLOSING DATE 25 May 2018 JOB PURPOSE The purpose of the position is to liaise with the relevant stakeholders in the business to ensure that the business intelligence structure supports busineess issues and provides value. The Junior Business Analyst will be responsible for documenting existing business processes, support business users, analyse data, develop and document new business processes. Liaison between System Developers and System Users

2 Conduct and coordinate workshops with business to gather detailed user requirements following a standard development in Systems Development Life Cycle within AGILE methodology. Translate client/user requirements into highly specified project briefs (BRS). Identify options for potential solutions and assess them for both technical and business suitability. Draw up proposals for modified or replacement systems and present to relevant parties. Work closely together with programmers and a variety of end-users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction. Oversee the implementation of the new system(s) / enhancements. Continuously ensure that tasks and projects are completed within deadlines and that any rework is limited. Data Integrity Checks Conduct integrity checks on all extracted data to ensure correct data is incorporated into reports. Ensure the accuracy of data within the business and ensure consistent use of data. Escalate data integrity issues to relevant Manager and ensure that these receive priority to maintain a high level of data integrity. Check all existing and new reports for accuracy and data integrity. Business Intelligence Analysis

3 Engage with the business teams on an ongoing basis to understand management information needs. Conduct impact analysis of any proposed changes that will impact on management information reporting. Actively engage and participate in new initiatives within the business to ensure that the management information component is addressed. Stay abreast of knowledge and skills relevant to the level and area of work. Continuously enhance the business expertise by analysing its drivers, key indicators, relationships, and trends. Consider all influencing events, quantify the impact on the business and proactively find solutions. Develop a thorough knowledge of various systems and related reporting. Testing and Training Draw-up testing schedules for the completed system(s) / enhancements. Provide training to users on the new system(s) / enhancements. Systems Testing Working with software developers and project support teams. Project planning. Monitoring applications and our fleet management system. Stress testing the system and applications to determine their breaking points and recoverability. Performance testing the applications and systems to eliminate bottlenecks and establish a baseline for future regression testing.

4 Functional testing to check that software has all required functionality specified within its functional requirements. Scalability testing to measure applications and systems capabilities to scale up in terms of their non-functional capability. Writing and executing test scripts. Running manual and automated tests. Writing bug reports. Designing tests to mitigate risk. Detailed Test Reporting Implementing robust error handling and clear/consistent reporting functionality, investigating and reporting on hazards and potential risk events within a project or business area. Creating traceability records, from test cases back to requirements, reports on system quality and collecting metrics on test cases. Providing detailed advice regarding the application of technologies. BUSINESS OBJECTIVES Users are aware of any new system features before they go live. Users can give input in the testing/training stages to further minimize re-work. User requirements are clearly articulated to the developers. In return system capabilities are clearly communicated to the users. System redundancies are also minimized. The correct data is continuously used to generate business relevant reports. Accurate reports are generated. Business tasks are further aligned to improve efficiency.

5 Enables Developers to accurately fix bugs. Documented traceability enables easier refinement and iteration in the lifetime of a requirement in both a forwards and backwards direction. System Bugs are eliminated at the Testing level. Any foreseen risk is mitigated before system goes live. WORK RELATED DIMENSIONS Required to travel? NO YES YES MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE MINIMUM QUALIFICATION At least 3 years working BSc/IT Degree or National Diploma in experience as a Business Computer Science/IT Analyst or related job Experience in a fleet industry will be an added advantege OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Driver s License SKILLS Working knowledge of relational databases, web and client-server concepts, and be able to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals Background in Microsoft, SQL Server, Excel, Word, Outlook, JIRA, Atlassian, Team Foundation Server and HTML

6 Good working knowledge skills with Microsoft Office Products, Microsoft Visio, and Microsoft Project Experience in the development and implementation of standards, procedures and guidelines to support operational processes Familiar with AGILE practices and methodology Minimum of one year functional testing experience ISTQB / ISEB certification Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to liaise with a variety of stakeholders Problem solving skills
