69 69 E-Business Suite Upgrade How Long Will It Take? Time: Estimating Example We typically find organizations want to upgrade around a month end, or year end, but this is not a requirement! We like to estimate around 1 month per application module; so if you are running Oracle EBS Applications GL, AP, and AR, we estimate three months to start. (3 months) Well knowing AP involves the usage of Payments (IBY), and the need for retraining, working new business requirements, testing scenarios, etc. this could add another month or more, so we are up to four months. (+1 month) With AR, the use of Advance Collections may be needed so knowing that this may require training, we would add another month to the estimate. (+1 month) Estimate so far, 5 months

Scope: Estimating Example Scope, including the applications noted on previous page CEMLIs, depends on what they are: An AP form, lets say Vendor/Suppliers, being the Vendor form is no longer, and a new OAF Supplier form replaces it, any customizations are lost and have to be rewritten, lets say this adds two months for a developer (+2 months) AP Check, lets assume this was created using old forms tool We would recommend replacing it with a BIP/XML check, this could take anywhere from 2-6 weeks depending on complexity, again depends, lets say 1 month for a developer (+1 month) Estimates so far, 5 months functional, and 3 months technical developer
