6 Magnitude of Fines and Citations OSHA Penalties of up to $70,000 may be proposed for each willful violation Willful violation resulting in death: punishable by a court-imposed fine or by imprisonment for up to six months, or both. A fine of up to $250,000 for an individual, or $500,000 for a corporation. Repeat Violation: A fine of up to $70,000 for each such violation. Failure to abate a prior violation: a civil penalty of up to $7,000 for each day MSHA up to $220,000 per violation Canada Ontario: A fine of up to $25,000 for an individual person and/or up to 12 months imprisonment; A fine of up to $500,000 for a corporation.
