3 1 Scope of Document The sales manual for distributed time systems is a comprehensive document pointing out the advantages and key performance features of the Distributed Time System product family. It lists the technical key features of the different products and transforms them into handy arguments to promote the DTS solution. The sales manual shall be used by sales staff, consultants, planners, engineers, etc. to praise the DTS products to a (potential) customer in a non-technical approach. Chapter 2 contains the layout and description of an integrated solution for time system and clocks which is meant to display the time. Chapter 3 is dedicated to an integrated solution for a time reference system. Time references from MOBATIME master clocks guarantee that controlling and monitoring networks and the devices and instruments linked to them proceed in exact lockstep with one another. From chapter 4 to 10 the main products of a Distributed Time System are described. Each chapter consists of an application area which shows the different fields and projects in which the solutions or products can be applied. Furthermore, a table with key features and advantages (USP) is included in each chapter. For further information regarding the Distributed Time System and its related products please refer to the following websites: Technology: Products: MBS / February / 22 LE DTS Sales Manual

16 8 NBU Application Area (Applications, Projects) Applications: Railways, Metros, Airports, Power Plants, Schools, Universities, Hospitals, Public Buildings, etc. o Any kind of indoor and outdoor analog clocks up to 80cm diameter 8.2 Key Features / Advantages Key Feature Self-setting movement Various behaviors of second hand possible Up to four NTP sources DHCP configuration PoE Supports unicast and multicast Switches for simple configuration with multicast Fully supported by the MOBA NMS SNMP V2c support for operation and alarming Local time and time zone management possible. Advantages (USP) The NBU 190 movement is a self-setting movement. By means of dip switches on the movement the behavior of the second hand can be chosen (60 second stop, etc.). The NBU 190 can follow up to four NTP time sources which ensures a high redundancy of the movement itself. The NBU 190 uses the DHCP configuration mode and is therefore fully compliant with the state-of-the-art technology in network management. The movement is configured and monitored as well as powered over the Ethernet. Installation therefore only needs one cabling respectively one network connection. The NBU 190 can be addressed by both unicast and multicast For maintenance purposes the movement can even be addressed by unicast and multicast at the same time (e.g. for multicast scanning of an existing unicast installation). The dip switches allow an easy installation. Central device management for all MOBATIME DTS devices and network slave clocks allows full integration of DTSproduct line. Possible management modes: installation / commissioning, operation / monitoring, maintenance, updating. The NBU 190 can be fully integrated in an existing, state-of-the-art network management system. Each NBU 190 can be configured on local time with its integrated time zone table. Furthermore, the movement can manage and use time zone information received from central DTS master clock or time server. MBS / February / 22 LE DTS Sales Manual

17 Control of up to three slave movement by one master movement. With only one Ethernet connection four movements can by managed and controlled by means of cascading function. The cascading function includes the power supply of all four movements as well. MBS / February / 22 LE DTS Sales Manual

The slim design allows the installation in clock housings of almost every dimension. By means of dip switches on the movement the behavior of the second hand can be chosen (sweeping, stepwise, etc.). This functionality allows significantly faster season and time zone changes. Since the time to run to the 12 o clock position for fitting the hands remains only a fraction of former movements the installation time can be reduced. The SEN 40 can follow up to four NTP time sources which ensures a high redundancy of the movement itself. The SEN40 uses the DHCP configuration mode and is therefore fully compliant with the state-of-the-art technology in network management. The movement is configured and monitored as well as powered over the Ethernet. Installation therefore only needs one cabling respectively one network connection. The SEN 40 can be addressed by both unicast and multicast For maintenance purposes the movement can even be addressed by unicast and multicast at the same time (e.g. for multicast scanning of an existing unicast installation). The dip switches allow an easy installation. Central device management for all MOBATIME DTS devices and network slave clocks allows full integration of DTSproduct line. MBS / February / 22 LE DTS Sales Manual

19 SNMP V2c support for operation and alarming Local time and time zone management possible. Control of up to one slave movement by one master movement. SEM 40 (MOBALine) only Support of world time clocks (configurable via dip switches) Possible management modes: installation / commissioning, operation / monitoring, maintenance, updating. The SEN40 can be fully integrated in an existing, state-of-the-art network management system. Each NBU 190 can be configured on local time with its integrated time zone table. Furthermore, the movement can manage and use time zone information received from central DTS master clock or time server. With only one Ethernet connection two movements can by managed and controlled by means of cascading function. The cascading function includes the power supply of all movements as well. MOBALine can provide up to 20 world time zones from a master clock to the SEM 40 movement without any interface inbetween. MBS / February / 22 LE DTS Sales Manual
