3 How Do You Access and Use EPPIC? New Users WIC Coordinators with the Local Agency Security Administrator Role can create User IDs for new staff State staff must create User IDs for new WIC Coordinators Contact Kathie Boynton, System Administrator (517)

4 Passwords Passwords are case sensitive Must contain at least 6 and not more than 8 characters Must contain a combination of letters and numbers Can not repeat from any of the ten (10) previous passwords Must be changed every 45 days Resetting Passwords Password gets LOCKED after three (3) incorrect entries in a row WIC Coordinators can reset clinic staff s passwords State staff must reset WIC Coordinator passwords Contact Kathie Boynton, System Administrator (517) boyntonk@michigan.gov EPPIC Main Menu 4

7 Benefit Balances in MI-WIC Question: Do you need to go to the EPPIC site to view benefit balance? Answer: NO the interface is Real Time so the balances in MI-WIC reflect current balances Exceptions: 1. A Communication Error Message shows when Issuing Benefits in MI-WIC or when viewing the MI-WIC Benefit Inquiry screen 2. You need to trouble-shoot a benefit balance issue with a client and want to view specific redemption information (i.e. when and where benefits were purchased or attempted shopping occurred) 7

8 MI-WIC/EPPIC Communication Error The communication between MI-WIC and EPPIC is Real Time, so the benefit balances in MI-WIC reflect current benefits UNLESS: Exception #1: You receive a message that there was a Communication Error between MI-WIC and EPPIC! In that case,go to EPPIC to see if benefits balance IS THE SAME in MI-WIC and EPPIC. IF NOT, call the Help Line at 1 (800) , press 1 and press 1. COMMUNICATION ERROR MESSAGE CHECK EPPIC! Card History This information is ALSO in MI-WIC 8
