9 Buckeye Distributing - Traditional Distributor Social Connection Quote Process Order Creation Data Integrity Pick & Pack Process Shipment Invoicing Marketing Responds to tweets with an Auto Reply. If a tweet really catches Marketing, they will forward info via to Sales Inside Sales utilizing mix of tribal documents & processes. Pipeline analytics are not utilized. Lots of s & phone calls driving business. No effective SOP in place Sales s the Operations Customer Service reps to enter the customer orders & process. Since Sales has little access to ERP, they often call and/or meet to try and update customer information Because customers exist in a sales system and the ERP system, data is not always the same. Example ABC International is the sales customer, but in ERP the customer is ABC Worldwide. Employees just learn what is what Orders released to warehouse manually, picklists are printed and walked back to the shipping area. Rush orders are highlighted and placed on the top of the pile so that hopefully they get picked first. Customer service often calls down to the warehouse to rush a shipment or find out if something has been packed yet Tracking information is written on the packslip and stapled to the picklist. These documents are brought up to accounting twice a day to generate invoices & filed away in a cabinet Invoices are printed and mailed for some customers. Other customers require - the accountant creates the invoice in PDF and s those from her account
