ORACLE APPLICATIONS RELEASE 13 Spotlight on PROJECT PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT SIMON BALL, Director, Product Strategy Oracle Script 1 00:13 Hello and welcome to this spotlight for Oracle Project Portfolio Management Cloud. I m Simon Ball and I ll be highlighting what s new in Release 13 for PPM. This is a major release, with many significant new capabilities. 2 To set the scene, let s talk about the overall themes for this release. We continue to work directly with customers to better understand their business issues, gaining valuable insight into how we can broaden our solution to address their pain points. Innovation remains a key focus for us, as we ll demonstrate with leading mobile solutions and advances in usability. And we ll also show the greater depth offered for targeted industries. 3 4

Let s begin with the Customer Success. 5 Through active engagement with customers we see real-life examples of our solutions in action. So let s look at how we re enabling greater customer success. 6 Not all companies have staff dedicated to resource deployment but they still need to manage their project resources and availability. 7 Answering this need, you can now allow your project managers to search for people based on their availability and skills and confirm the assignment themselves. This empowers Project Managers to find the best fit resources for their own projects within the context of talent profile and availability; helping to prevent resources from being over or under utilized. 8

Let s begin with the Customer Success. Staying with customer success, we ve addressed needs raised by of our largerscale customers who have higher-volume resource management requirements and need to quickly and yet accurately assign resources. 9 For projects requiring multiple resources with the same set of skills 5 auditors for example 10 the project manager can create a single request and it fulfilled over time. Since the resource manager can choose whether to confirm or reserve assignments and the PM can monitor the status of the request, staffing larger projects becomes much more effective. 11 Additionally, where the resource manager knows the resources to be assigned to a project they can now do so without creating resource requests making staffing easier and significantly less time-consuming. 12

We continue to heavily invest in innovation, building out new capabilities and modernizing business processes. 13 With this latest release we broaden our mobile capability to the Android platform. 14 Taking advantage of the mobile application framework, the new App has been designed bottom up to provide a new, more modern design, able to address future mobile needs. Team members can now manage and progress their project work and to-do tasks, and collaborate with others - whether they re working at a desk or in the field - using their Android phone. 15 Turning to the more financial aspects of projects, let s look at how the budgeting experience has been greatly enhanced. We ve leveraged the latest user interface innovations to increase your efficiency when managing project budgets: 16 Custom layouts let you tailor the budgeting experience to match the needs of your organization 17

and let you budget periodically on a single page. 18 R13 also sees a focus on industry specific requirements. 19 Firstly, let s look at state & local and higher education customers. 20 With R13, projects can now be funded by multiple awards and multiple funding sources. And budgeting is now available against the funding source, so spending can be controlled against each award. Finally, an award can be associated with multiple internal funding sources, so projects can be funded by both external and internal sponsors. 21 These enhancements offer greater flexibility, control, and efficiency when managing awards. 22

Turning to customers wanting more discipline in their planning we ll look at schedule baselines and phase gates. 23 Baselines offer comparison to the current plan, highlight variances directly in the interactive Gantt and - through the new OTBI subject area - document baseline changes over time. For industries with a more managed approach to planning examples include product development and internal IT projects we ve introduced gate management. Gates help you decide whether to continue with the project by polling stakeholders for their input and approval. Gates not only preserve responses from stakeholders for later review but offer a more formalized process used to prevent cost from being incurred unnecessarily on projects deemed not viable To sum up, R13 is a major release for PPM Cloud directly addressing customer needs, providing innovative solutions, and offering greater industry depth. 26
