1 Mobile Telecom Expense Management Introduction The BT Mobile Telecom Expense Management Quick Start Service is part of BT Managed Mobility Expenses, BT s suite of telecom expense management services. It enables organisations to understand how best to manage the total cost of ownership of their mobile telecommunications assets, users and infrastructure. The development of more advanced mobile devices and applications has resulted in organisations deploying a larger number of mobile devices than ever before to enable more efficient business processes through a more accessible, flexible and productive workforce. However, these efficiencies have come at a price with mobile usage spiralling out of control even in an environment where tariffs are reducing. As mobile data becomes more accessible, organisations are experiencing an explosion in usage and cost. BT Mobility

2 The big picture Enterprise mobility is a current reality and will only intensify as organisations increasingly rely on mobile devices to enhance their employees productivity. Whilst there are huge benefits to organisations in adopting a mobile strategy, there are many pitfalls and challenges not least of which is the increase in mobility costs due to the complexity of procurement, support and management. By adopting a random approach to mobilising its workforce, the productivity improvements made by the organisation can be wiped out by spiralling costs and inefficiencies. More and more users are being issued with devices, with research stating that enterprise mobile users will make up 73% of the workforce by 2012 (source Forrester). By combining our comprehensive consulting expertise with best practices and proven processes, BT is able to deliver consistent and exemplary results to help you effectively identify areas where you can reduce your telecommunications expenses. We start with getting a true understanding of what is critical to the success of your business, and by establishing a baseline of present mobile voice and mobile data expenditures, effectively a snapshot of your mobile TCO. BT will then determine where savings are possible and will work all the way through with you to build a business case towards a mobile telecom expense management solution. We can also provide a complete solution to achieve the recommended savings BT Managed Mobility Expenses.

4 Level 1: Quick Start Workshop The Quick Start workshop provides a high-level introduction to mobile telecom expense management. It aims to identify priorities and to define objectives & actions, and demonstrates how these can benefit to your organisation. Inputs Activities Outputs 1. An overview of end to end Mobility Management activities and associated costs. Presentation with examples of work undertaken for other organisations. Start to understand key areas of focus for the organisation. 2. Understand the organisations business issues and drivers. 3. Discuss potential scope and terms of reference with customer sponsor. 5 Level 2: Quick Start Business Case The Quick Start assessment involves a more in-depth analysis of your actual mobile estate. Analysis will be performed using actual call data. It culminates in the production of a business case demonstrating the savings that can be made using BT S TEM solution. 6 Level 2: Quick Start Business Case The BT Mobile Telecom Expense Management Quick Start is the first step towards implementing BT Managed Mobility Expenses, our fully managed service that allows you to control your mobility costs, optimise your internal processes and manage usage levels. Within this service we also offer optional consulting and service packages: Health check on additional countries in your mobile estate. Inventory build - a list of users and associated assets. A large number of corporate customers have no idea as to which employees have which device(s) and whether it matches their needs. BT will work with the client customer and their mobile operators to build an accurate inventory of mobility devices to users. Development of corporate policy on mobility usage. A large number of corporate customers do not have a published usage policy for their employees. BT will work with the customer to develop a policy that will allow the organisation to better manage the total cost of ownership of its mobile estate. The policy would cover items such as what is acceptable usage, who is entitled to what type of phone, international/roaming access.
