Unistal s Pipeline Information Management System Introduction: Unistal s Pipeline Laying Management System is a web based solution, designed to monitor the construction progress on a real time basis. Data that is entered on daily basis is indexed using complex algorithms that leave no scope for discrepancies. Reports are generated in a telescopic format that helps to browse from the route map to details of each pipe laid. The solution is designed to provide real time information about pipeline progress during following three stages, Project Planning, Project Execution/ Construction, Operation & Maintenance. The main features that are of utmost importance are Geo referencing of land data along the pipe line route. Cross linking of surrounding landmarks with co-ordinates. Data up-dation on a daily basis. Generation of Velocity Sheet for each/all activities. Generation of S-curves on weight-age percentages. Generation of alignment sheet using survey data. Option to modify /edit alignment sheet. Real time pipeline laying progress monitoring. Monitor online, quality control records of progress. Monitoring of material availability & quality documents. Uniformity of documentation & reports. Real-time creation of Pipe Book, weld book. Real-time creation of welder performance reports, pipe reconciliation reports. Pre-hydrotest and pre-lowering compliance report generation. Security of database and world class disaster recovery management. Simultaneous monitoring from different locations, by contractor, consultant, client.

Features: Web based access Three tier security (access rights, encryption, login checks) Hyperlinked scanned documents for reference Accurate validated data inputs Dynamic query progress engine Easy entry using auto repeat option Project information using dynamic setup Extensive decision making reports Printing and export of relevant data sheets, pipe book, as built information. Printing of graphical reports. PIMS Modules: Pipeline Information Management Solution Construction Management Electronic Documentation GPS Referencing Alignment Sheet Corridor Management GPS Route Link Asset Management Station Operation Manager Line Maintenance Manager Administration Manager Execution Methodology: On daily basis, Inspection report of all activities from each Spread shall be provided to Unistal PIMS personnel, which will be digitized in the PIMS input menu. Each Inspection report will be scanned and hyperlinked in the PIMS. While feeding in data from field inspection reports into the PMIS, exceptions and errors get listed in a Housekeeping report. The reports in question will be kept "ON HOLD" until the QA/QC Manager at the camp site resolves them.

Following information is captured in PIMS database. Project Information Spread Information Route survey data (TP, IP, Ground level, Stations, Crossings, Topography etc) Soil survey data. Pipe Inventory with details WPS (Welding Procedure specification). Welder Details (Welder ID, Certificate and Qualification as per WPS). Note: All field inspection reports shall be provided to Unistal personnel by 20:00 hrs on each day, for scanning, checking, cataloguing & indexing of the documents & to upload the same to FTP server. Reports received after 20:00 hrs, will be treated as being received the next day i.e. next day morning 08:00 hrs. QA/QC Co-coordinator One QA/QC personnel shall be deployed per Spread by Pipeline Contractor to coordinate with Unistal personnel for providing all the required information in the form of accepted formats and the resolution of held-up reports generated by PIMS. Users List of Authorized users shall be furnished by the contractor, this includes, Client, PMC & Contractor altogether. Unistal will generate user ID s and password for the listed users. Construction Management Digitization of Inspection Reports Auto Generated Pipe Book Auto Generated Daily Progress Report Data Reports: Activity Reports Pipe Reconciliation Welder Performance Crossing Details Project Status Station Works Progress Graphical Reports: S-Curves Pert Charts Velocity Chart Joint Schematic Reporting formats are customizable. Tracking of each progress activity is reported in form of data, graphical reports and geo-referenced maps. All reports are dynamically linked to data, so any data input will automatically reflect all the reports. Indications of repairs regarding weld repair, coating repair, pipe change etc are reflected in the reports.

Reporting of each activity is generated in three modes. 1) Summary, 2) Data Sheet, 3) Graphical. Query can be set for data sheet and graphical representation according to chainage range and date range. Progress of construction activities (ROU grading to Pre-commissioning). a. Pre-construction survey, ROU clearing and grading b. Station Works c. Pipe history d. Trenching e. Stringing f. Bending g. Welding including weld repair details h. NDT i. Joint Coating j. Concrete coating k. Lowering (including OFC laying) l. All crossings and HDD m. TCP/PCP n. OFC Jointing o. Hydro-testing p. Pre-commissioning activities q. Station works r. Restoration Reports: PIMS generates various forms of reports directly from the database. Pipe Book Daily Progress Report Pipe Reconciliation Report: Joint Graphical Report Welding Report Velocity Sheet S-Curve Exceptions reporting Compliance Reports Station Works

Electronic Documentation System All reports, whether, progress reports, test reports or specification and procedures are linked to the relevant reports. These are also available in a central document online database called Documentation. The following are covered under this section; - Pipe information ( Manufacturing history, inspection documents, test certificates of pipes and plates). - Pipe reconciliation statements - Material acceptance ( Joint coating material manufacturers test certificates). - Manufacturers test certificates and site qualification test reports like filler material, electrode, epoxy etc. - Equipment data sheets and test certificates. - Procedure reports. Approved procedures, job procedures, welding procedures specification and qualification, QAP s and ITP s for all pipeline activities including terminals, SV stations, IP stations etc. Scanning and digitization of gazette notifications from owner. All construction activity reports including crossings. - Cadastral survey documents. Survey numbers, ownership area of affected of survey no. in ROU. Permanent feature along center of pipeline. Village maps, talukas, districts etc. Nearest police station with details, hospital, fire station, village panchayat, district authority details. - Land acquisitions details. The land owner details including permanent and alternative address. Mutation details, land usage details of the property owner including the crop details. The information on the compensation paid to the owner. - Clearance and restoration acceptance from statutory authorities such as forest department, railways, PWD etc. - Hydrotesting and pre-commissioning documents/data including water filling, pressurization and hydrotest reports, dewatering inspection reports, magnetic cleaning reports, EGP reports, drying inspection reports, inertisation, preservation inspection/commissioning reports. - As-built documentation

GPS Referenced Route Maps Web based Map s with links of all TP s having details of GPS, chainages, progress till date, latitude-longitude and digital pictures of special sections. A mouse over any TP will show a box. On further clicking on it, complete progress details up to that TP will be shown. Digital pictures of any special sections, IP/SV stations are also shown. Links get dynamically generated as and when data entry is done. Pipe Route Linkages This graphical representation of the route has nodal points referenced against chainages for the following; SV/IP stations, turning points, crossings, KM posts, warning signs, city/town crossings and certain important landmarks. These points are hyperlinked to provide more details. Further click on a point gives descriptions like as date progress, digital videography of special sections, IP stations, View related pipe book page, related alignment sheet etc.

Alignment sheet generation: As built alignment sheets are generated by inputs of various turning points and their respective co-ordinates. It is also possible to add/modify a turning point, utility etc along the pipeline and also land data like village, trees, roads etc. Data Flow Diagram
