2 About Project KSRTC implemented Intelligent Transport System (ITS) at Mysore City under GEF-SUTP Programme. It is the first of its kind demonstrative project in India for the entire fleet of city bus services in the history of Indian State Transport Undertakings. 3 Key Objectives To establish an intelligent system to improve quality & convenience of public transport system in Mysore city and ensure the delivery of safe, fair, reliable and environment-friendly transport system To promote use of sustainable transport modes and enable commuters to make informed choices on travel modes by developing an integrated network in an effort to reduce passenger wait times To optimize operations, improve fleet utilization, schedules, and vehicle availability with accurate information

13 Replicability Based on ITS Mysore, KSRTC has initiated Vehicle Tracking and Monitoring System Project covering 2000 long distance buses across all its depots. All the fleet of KSRTC will be deployed under ITS in 3 years time Many National/International knowledge exchange workshops & field visits have been organized for executives working in STUs/City Administration across India World Bank, UPSRTC, MSRTC, Unions visited Mysore JnNURM-II Urban Bus Specifications mandate the use of ITS. Many cities have approached KSRTC for providing consultancy services in successful implementation of ITS projects.
