3 Interconnection Process Map You are here For some interconnection customers (IC), such as distribution connected and QF resources, New Resource Implementation (NRI) will be the first point of contact at the ISO. New Resource Implementation ensures that a resource requirements are met before: Initial sync Commercial operations Qualified Facility and conversions Page 3

4 Getting Started The first step of the NRI process is to: Submit a Project Details Form through RIMS User Interface Submit it at least 7 months in advance of your estimated initial sync or Implementation date Your project will be assigned a NRI project code ie. 18GEN1234 The RIMS User Interface will be used for updating: Project Description Initial Sync, QF, or conversion date addresses (will receive project progress reports and will allow user to submit documentation to NRI) Etc Page 4

8 Project Naming Validation When choosing Project Name- Section 5.2 of the BPM for Generator Interconnection and Deliverability Allocation Procedures (GIDAP) contains the project naming guidelines to follow Name Validation Process within NRI Automated validation of the project name will occur at project creation in RIMS 3 rd Party- Word for word Comparison 2-Party- there is no like for like code, manual validation If project does not meet guidelines and pass validation the project will have to be cancelled and create new one. 9 Tips for success- NRI document submission Review the NRI Guide and Checklist Start the NRI Process early and submit documents well before bucket due dates Include your project code i.e.18gen1234 in your file names User must be provisioned by UAA before uploading files in RIMS Follow the file naming convention in the NRI Guide Please read the responses from NRI or visit the RIMS user interface for updates Page 9

10 Resource Interconnection Management System (RIMS) New Application NRI process is not changing Requirements, notifications, etc. Day to day interaction within the NRI process is changing New NRI project code creation will be through the RIMS public web interface RIMS Registration Code Upload Project Details Form (V10) Project Naming standards must be met NRI Project Code (18GEN1234) Page 10

11 What to know about RIMS Access to an NRI project code will need authority from a User Access Administrator (UAA) RIMS User will be given access by a UAA RIMS User has the ability to Receive FNM progress reports Upload files Edit project details Authorized Contacts has the ability to Only receive FNM progress reports Page 11

12 What to know about RIMS Project details form is only used once, after that the User Interface (UI) is used to make updates to the project Implementation date, authorized contacts, project description, etc. No more ing NRI with bucket file submissions File submission will be uploaded through the RIMS UI Access hyperlink for all Accepted bucket items Bucket timeline will be strictly enforced when documents are uploaded to RIMS Page 12

13 What to know about RIMS Interconnection Customers will use the web interface to request sync, Conversion completion, COM, COD etc. Request is enabled once requirements fulfilled Monitor the approval process for your request Page 13

15 RIMS Transition Period Transition period of 5-7 days to transition data from current application to the new RIMS application During this time the following will not be accepted: No new projects No document submittals No new Sync/COD/COM/Conversion Requests Once dates and details are finalized you will be notified Market notice notification NRI notification Page 15
