(SEE FIGURE 2) Using the Work Order tool, you can: Define the scope of work to be done Specify the resources needed Specify required start and end dates Set a work priority and assign a userdefinable progress status for tracking purposes Centralize the collection of costs Work Instructions & Attachments The work order tool enables you to attach Work Instructions that can be optionally set to print when the Work Order is issued to the field. Documents can also be attached to a Work Order, an asset, an asset group, or a maintenance procedure. These can also be set to print, or not to print, when printing the Work Order. These attachments can be of any type (Excel, Word, JPEG etc.) that is available and supported on your system. FIGURE 1: a Work Order Maintenance Procedures Maintenance Procedures are the triggers for scheduled maintenance in the system. They can also carry a Budget, which will be copied to the Work Order automatically when a schedule is produced. Work Instructions and Attachments can also be added at this level. Maintenance Procedures can be: Period or usage (run-hours) based Fixed or variable intervals Planned or actual intervals i.e. base the next schedule date based on the original plan, or set so that the interval remains static, irrespective of when the actual work is performed. Set to automatically create Work Orders and/or a Planning Worksheet, based on trigger settings Optional lead times to allow for planning and preparation Start and retire effective dates Where-used look up Work Order Statistics & Audit Trail It is possible to view the budgeted, committed and actual costs incurred, summarized by Budget Line item type, by selecting the Statistics function at any time.
