9 New Color Process The New Coloring Process for Barkman s Architextures Wall Barkman has introduced several bold new products for 2017 and with these new products come even bolder new color options. With the advancements in production technology, Barkman is able to utilize new coloring techniques to make colors more vibrant than ever before. Traditional blended colors in retaining wall and paving stone products are manufactured by mixing multiple colors together to achieve a consistent blending of the colors in as many blocks as possible. As a result of this process, the multiple colors are visible but may appear a little dull compared to a pure vibrant single color. The new coloring technique that Barkman is using on some of the new products, concentrates the coloring on the surface of the product, allowing the color to remain more vibrant. In addition, Barkman has the ability to concentrate the colors and create a streaking effect in the surface of the product. This process defines colors in a much bolder way, just like you would see in veins of natural rock Installation Tips It is not uncommon for concrete products to vary in color, even if it is a single or blended color. Always work with and install products from multiple pallets at one time. This simple practice blends color variations together and provides an even distribution of the color. Larger projects easily allow you to blend multiple pallets together and deal with any slight color variations. Smaller projects that may only be a few pallets can be more difficult, especially if you receive product that may be on the darker or lighter end of the color blend. On smaller projects, it is best to look at the product to ensure that there is a reasonable amount of color in some of the pallets so the overall color theme is represented. Concrete products that have concentrated surface coloring or color streaking, can be some of the most vibrant and beautiful colors to work with but they can also have the most variation between pallets.
