4 1 PURPOSE This standard specifies the arrangements for substation installations in environmentally sensitive areas. The specific areas that are covered in this standard are those which require oil containment facilities and flood retainment. The drawings align with the Distribution Substation Manual (DSM) Section 3 Substation Arrangements and need to be read in conjunction with it. This is the first edition of the revised standard. The revised standard supersedes the previous DSM Section 9 (DM# ) which specified the requirements for 33 kv substation installations (this is now covered under DSM Section 3). 2 SCOPE This Standard covers the following arrangements: Oil Containment for MPS substations; Oil Containment for Non-MPS substations; and Floodwater Proofing for all substations Two options are recommended for floodwater proofing. The designer shall make a selection based on cost and the availability of materials. DM# Page 4 of 14 Print Date 25/02/2014
