3 Notes to Designer/User The installation details contained in this packet are only intended to be a design aid. Actual conditions will vary and all situations have not been taken into account. Modifications to suit actual conditions will be the responsibility of the designer/user. Standard flashings are depicted in the details. Metl-Span can manufacture other styles to suit your specific project conditions and aesthetic needs. The Prestige Series (PS-12) is a family of concealed fastener panels used for wall, soffit, fascia, and equipment screen applications. It can be installed vertically or horizontally and is available in a number of different reveals and finishing options to provide maximum design flexibility. The Prestige Series can be used over solid substrates or over open framing. The details in this booklet are shown over a solid substrate (plywood). Details are generally the same for either solid substrate or over open framing conditions except for a change in fastener type. The designer/user is responsible for adjusting dimensions and details as required to meet specific project conditions. Maximum Panel Lengths: 18ga 20ga 22ga 24ga 45ft 40ft 35ft 30ft Prestige Series panels are also available perforated. Metal soffit and wall panels may be susceptible to condensation, and its control should be carefully considered. It is the designer/user s responsibility to determine the need and type of condensation control material (insulation, vapor retarders and/or venting). Special notes for horizontal panel installations: Due to the natural tendency for panels to sag and oil can, horizontal applications are limited to 22ga and heavier panels. Horizontal applications require panels to be installed top down (eave to foundation). Contact your Metl-Span representative if you have any questions about the use or installation of Prestige Series panels, flashings, and accessories. To assist in conditions that require weathertight installations, the Prestige Series comes with a factory-applied sealant as the standard product offering. Heavier gauge panels (22ga or heavier) are recommended to reduce the tendency for oil-canning. In applications where a higher resistance to wind loads is needed, it is recommended that the optional retainer clip be used to prevent panel separation. 2
